I have a 2008 LS460L and the front driver's and passenger's windows have wind noise, sometimes worse than others. I also drove a 2007 which experienced the same problem. It is still under warranty, but not sure if there is anything which can be done. Not sure how a car with doubled panned windows can have so much wind noise.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 LS I purchased a few months ago. Wind noise from windows is very loud. I applied the jmcraney fix this week - did it exactly as the directions say. Made no difference in wind noise - still get a bunch of wind noise through the windows. My LS has 70k miles so it is out of warranty.
View 14 RepliesPurchased my LS 460 last week and noticed when going 55 mph or more there was wind noise coming from both the drivers front window and passenger's front window. Decided to go back to the dealer and was told that is a known problem with the LS 460 (not the 460L because I was told they use a different type of glass which apparently has a better seal). You can't hear it with conversation or radio, but if there isn't anything on, it's there. Kinda like when a window is just barely cracked while driving is the sound you hear. I test drove a different LS 460 while at the dealer and was able to verify it too had the same wind noise. The dealer suggested that if there is enough comments made that Lexus would undoubtedly look into a "campaign" to correct the problem. Went online and checked a few review sites by consumers and noticed others had also commented on this wind noise. If you have the LS 460 (not the 460L) check it out...and if you hear it, consider filing it with Lexus Customer Service at 1-800-255-3987. Overall, a great car...things like this can happen with the first year of a body redesign.
View 14 RepliesAbout two years ago I paid the dealership to fix my drivers side door. It had TERRIBLE wind noise and once complete there was a major difference. I was very happy with the results. Guess what's back? Yes, that damn wind noise.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 Passat and when I put down the back windows there is a horrible window noise. It's not a wind noise like "sswwwhhhh sswwwhhh" it's like a "WOMP WOMP WOMP" and it echos so bad I can't drive.
When I open up a sunroof or crack open a front window the noise disappears...it's the weirdest thing. I love driving with ONLY my back windows down and I can't....
So I have a PCS fault on my 2008 LS460L and brought it to my local Lexus Dealership....They basically insist that the data controller is/may be causing the PCS fault.
In the meantime, I guess the most probable action is to disconnect the data controller and see if the problem goes away.....
I am having problems starting my car. It takes 5 or 6 tries . It will not turn over it will just click under the hood. I scanned the code and it showed the crankshaft sensor code. Would this be correct or could it be the starter or starter components. It is a 2008 LS 460
View 10 RepliesI have bought a new 2008 Passat about 4 months ago. about 2 months ago, this weird pressure could be felt from the inside similar to having the sunroof opened or the rear windows opened. I took it to my dealer twice and they say that they don't feel/hear anything. I went on a 200 mile trip and regretted taking the passat only 20 miles into it. the pressure/noise thing is unbearable! I seriously am thinking of crashing this thing and making my insurance switch cars. it was never like this when i got it. I would never buy a car like that! I checked to see if the tires were the problem but found nothing. i am so frustrated at the dealer and with this car that it just sits there not being driven because i can not stand driving it. Again, it makes a weird pressure/noise feeling as if the windows are opened but they aren't!
View 13 RepliesMy 2008 LS460L blows cold air on cold days/nights when the engine is idling. Raising the RPM to about 1500 causes heat to start to flow out of the air ducts. I also hear a gurgling sound behind the dash when accelerating normally from idle. The water pump was replaced by Lexus in late April 2014.
I have checked the coolant reservoir (engine cold) and found it to be slightly below the "LOW" coolant level mark (not empty). It would seem that since the feed from the coolant reservoir is on the bottom of the reservoir, as long as there is some coolant in the reservoir, the rest of the system should be full.
All things considered, are the two issues (no heat & gurgling sound) more likely to be caused by low coolant in the system, the relatively new water pump, or something else? BTW, what is the proper method to top off the coolant in a 2008 LS460L? Are there any special bleed ports for eliminating air pockets?
Wind noise around front windows just inside the side mirrors. ཀ Forester ...Is this a common problem and is there a fix for it?
View 4 RepliesI have a lot of wind noise in my 2 front windows when driving highway speeds, no water leaks. I cannot find where it is coming from either, I assume it is either air rushing over the mirrors or thin glass. Sometimes it is worse than others, not sure if cross winds etc. Is that common in 2009 Sonata. My old 2003 Malibu, much quieter but mirrors were slightly more rounded if I remember.
View 12 RepliesThere is a noticeable amount of wind noise on the driver's side (obviously with the top and all windows up). Haven't ridden in the passenger seat so not sure if it's there too.
The top closes perfectly, so I'm assuming it's the driver's side mirror.
I got a 2008 LS460L. I replaced the daytime running lights but they flicker and don't stay on.. I'm looking to change them again any brand which works best. I want 6000k in headlights and fog lights.
View 5 RepliesI made my first round trip from Vegas to LA over the weekend in our 06 GX470and had to endure this obnoxious wind noise that seems to be coming from both driver and passenger windows. Is this normal for a Lexus SUV? I normally drive my LS460L which is dead silent so I'm not sure if I'm just spoiled. I used to have a big SUV (Armada) but never noticed the wind noise because of the engine and road noise.

This message displays on and off about every other day. Yesterday, I hooked an OBD2 scanner up and discovered the following error code history:
P0171 : System Too Lean Bank 1
P0174 : System Too Lean Bank 2
P0022 : "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded Bank 2
P0335 : Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit
P2195 : 02 Sensor Biased/Stuck Lean Bank 1 Sensor 1
Every now and then the engine will run a little rough, but usually at low RPM, and (again) not very often. The car has 166,000 miles of mostly highway driving.
I have a 2008 LS360L with 4-zone climate control. For whatever reason, the rear seat controls and display do not work for climate control. The controls still work for radio, rear seat adjustment and window shades, but climate functions are unoperable.
Additionally, the 4-zone buttons on the nav touchscreen are now missing in the climate menu. There used to be left / right passenger settings and then a button to switch to rear seat settings. These options have all disappeared from the menu.
I can press the 4-zone physical button on dash and manually change temperature settings for driver or passenger by pressing physical driver / passenger temperature up / down buttons.
The only thing I can attribute to this is I had the dealer do a map upgrade to the nav system. All other features / functions work, but the timing is somewhat suspect... They really do not believe this upgrade caused the problem.
Are there hidden menus I may have hit to deactivate this feature?
I have an 07 sc 430. It has a wind noise on drivers side. It seems to be at the top of the window where the top fits into the header bar.

View 8 RepliesSo I noticed I had some wind noise on the highway coming from my sunroof. It was actual wind coming through the dry rotted seals around the glass. Well I got really lucky and a truck kicked something up on the highway and it went right through the glass. Called the insurance company and since glass is covered free in Ma, they shipped an OEM sunroof to the local shop. Got it put in this morning, and it is all quiet again.
View 4 RepliesI purchased a brand new 09 LS 460 a few weeks ago - it is an amazingly beautiful car and a joy to look at.
Unfortunately, I think I have the dreaded wind noise problem, as there is very noticeable wind noise above about 65 mph - it gets pretty bad when it is really windy outside.
I love driving the car and have a long daily commute - however, this issue it starting to bother/annoy me and I find it takes away from my enjoyment.
And, mods, this probably should be a separate thread since it's prpobably not related to the other issues.
I suddenly noticed some wind noise at the driver's side B-pillar the other day, almost like my window wasn't closed tight. But it was. So later on, I checked the outside of the window and found that the little external rubber seal on the rear vertical portion of the door frame was kinked and not laying flat. This is where the window moves up and down in its channel on the trailing edge.
I managed to press the seal back in place and it solved the problem ... but the next time I rolled my window down and back up, it kinked again.
My car is now at the dealer awaiting a new seal. For some reason, it decided to start scrunching up the seal when the window is raised, and the seal has to be replaced.
So if you hear wind noise over your left shoulder (or your passenger over his/her right shoulder) check that the little narrow black rubber seal is where it should be ... laying flat.
