So I've had my 2015 IS250 for only 7-8 months, and it happened to rain in CA. My windshield wipers were put to use, but the wipers make loud noises. The rubber does not seem to wipe the glass smoothly or quietly as it skips or drags when the wipers go up. Will the dealership fix this at no cost?
View 3 RepliesThe wipers on my Camry windshield are making a scraping sound as they sweep. I replaced the factory motor & transmission four years ago with one from a wreck. Working fine til now. How can I deduce it's the motor and not the trans - or the other way around. I did remove the complete unit and oiled it up. The problem remains. The motor hums nicely. The transmission arms do not rotate easily by hand.
View 4 RepliesJust got my Touareg a little over a week ago and used the wipers for the first time today and noticed that they make a rather loud noise everytime they wipe the windshield (I believe the driver-side blade is making most of the noise). It's hard to describe the noise but it's probably the most annoying. It seems to be loudest when it's drizzling or misting and the wipers engage (triggered by the auto-sensor). How to to resolve it?

View 7 RepliesI have a sporadic problem with my wipers - most of the time they run correct but sometimes there is an annoying chatter - I have the Bosch replacements and they run well even when dry but every once in a while they start chattering. One time the wiper blade even fell off.....if I go to the dealer, they want to see the problem but if it is sporadic they can do nothing (had a problem with a speaker and it took 3 tries before they heard the defect) - what was the solution?

My gas lid will not shut flush. When I lock the doors it makes a loud sound as if it is having a hard time catching the lock. The lock still catches but its still not flush. When the car is unlocked and I shut the door I can just pull it open without pushing on it as it is not sitting flush. I checked for anything that may be in the way of the hinge and all seems normal.
View 6 RepliesThe windshield wipers on my 2010 F-150 do not wipe a clear path. I have tried several different brands of blades without any good results. It is like the blades have to have more tension against the glass. Is there a way to increase this tension?

I don't know if this is how it's always been, but after I picked up the car from service at the lex dealer yesterday i especially noticed that the windshield wipers don't go all the way down when they are off or at the "bottom" of the wipe motion. especially the one on the passenger side - when the wipers are idle it's sitting maybe 3" above its base if you understand what i am trying to say. Is this normal? or is it just now i am noticing this. it's not really in the way to impede my vision but i just find it odd.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. Back in November 2014 my car began giving me trouble starting, making clicking noises when I turn the key. My mechanic told me I needed an alternator so I had him install one. A few weeks after that I had the same problem. He told me a wire leading to the alternator was bad and he replaced it. A few weeks after that the exact same thing happened. He said another wire was bad. I asked him to check all the wires, which he says he did. Back in June of this year my car started giving me problems starting again. Every now and then it would click when I turned the ignition key. Finally, I went back to my mechanic and this time he said I needed a new starter. This was July. Then, last week, my battery light came on while I was driving. Long story short, I had to replace my alternator again. It's only been 9 months! Coupled with all this, both my back lights are out; my right turn signal is out, most of the time, every now and then it works, and sometimes my windshield wipers won't come on.

The windshield wipers on my 2013 es350 are not stopping on the edge. When I checked on a 2015 es300h, the wipers go all the way to the edge. Is this normal for the es350?

When it rained recently, the windshield wiper started making a loud squealing noise whenever it would wipe down. When I would spray the windshield fluid, the noise goes away but returns when I stop. No noise when it wipes up or when the rain is light drizzle or very heavy. So only noisy when rain is medium to heavy.
I thought maybe something sticky got on the windshield so used a regular glass cleaner multiple times but it's still noisy. What it could possibly be???
Okay, to start i've disconnected my rain sensor so i do not have auto wipers, instead the wipers are intermittent when in the first, AUTO, position. with that being said....
When I was driving and had the LOW wiper position selected (not AUTO) and the wiper speed dial set to (-) , when the car comes to a stop or is parked, the LOW wipers switch to intermittent where they will pause in the (-) dial setting, for about 2.5 seconds. if the dial is set to (+) you do not notice this happening as the wipers re-engage too quickly. and then once you start moving again, the wipers return to the LOW setting and run continuously.
Does it also happen when your rain sensor still works? My guess is it's a luxury function so when you are nto moving, less rain hits the water, and you don't have to deal with wipers on a drier windshield making the low squeegee noise.
So over the past week of driving my new 2011 RX350 I have had the auto wipers set to on so when/if it rains they automatically come on. However at random times when there is no rain the wipers come alive an make a sweep across the windshield.
View 14 RepliesMy 03 GX470 has an issue where the windshield wipers will randomly stop working. It doesn't matter what setting they are on, auto, low, high, they work fine for a few minutes, then just stop mid stroke. They sometimes start back again on their own after a minute or so, but usually, I have to turn the switch to other settings a few times, to get it going again. Inevitably though, the wipers only work for a few minutes more, before stopping again. What could be causing this?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2014 passat 1.8 tsi comfort line about 7 months old. And i have some questions about it. Does warranty cover interior quality? cuz there are loud crackling noises while driving on normal roads. and recently since it snowed the crackling became much more noticeable and loud, really annoying.
In the morning backing out of the driving way, the breaks squeak in a really high pitch sound, the dealership told me it is normal but it got louder than when i first got it. Seems like its a normal problem for most, but is there a way to reduce the noise? i get its cleaning the brakes but its mad loud.
So driving in the snow the brakes get really bumpy, is that abs or is it like crushing snow? just sorta scary feeling.
I have a 2009 RX350 with 51,000 miles (just 1000 over warranty). The left rear strut developed a bad leak and has begun making the noises associated with the failed strut. I will be changing out both rears and have two questions that I cannot find info for on the web.
1) I noticed the 2 latches on the side covers inside the back area to remove the panel and expose the rear strut tower, are these the only two latches I need to remove to access the upper bolts, or are there hidden screws or things I need to do to remove the panel?
2) What are the torque specs for the rear strut bolts?
I have an 2011 rx350 that had a cracked windshield. I got it replaced and ever since there has been a rattling down by the dash/windshield at the drivers side. Now the guys that installed it are very nice and have actually looked at it 3 times since but still nothing to negate the noise. I tried sticking a rag down between the dash and the glass but it hasn't totally gone away. It does appear to be worse in colder weather or when the car hasn't fully warmed up.
View 2 RepliesI randomly am unable to either turn on or off the wipers. I wish it were completely reproducible, but it seems to be random. Sometimes pushing down or up won't turn them on. I can push all the way down and they turn on high, but then I can't slow them down, and pushing all the way up just stops them where they are. This isn't normal behavior correct?

My 2015 IS250 base model wipers don't resume while is enabled after I turned off the car. Is it suppose to resume after I turn on the car if I don't turn off the wiper?
View 2 RepliesI bought my 2014 Corolla new a little over 3 years ago. Yesterday, when I was leaving work to head home I went to start my car and I was just met with my starter making a loud buzzing noise. My lights in my car, car fob, and etune radio were all working properly, but the car was just not able to start! My coworker told me that he heard of a trick where if you knock on the starter with something while trying to start it, it might give it enough of a kick to get going. Whether or not it was coincidence, it did work.
I was able to drive home, about 15 minutes (still daylight, did not need car lights), with no trouble. When I got home I turned my car off and waited for a few seconds and tried to start again. It worked, but it sounded like it struggled. I did it one more time and it failed with that same noise again. I resolved that I would just go get a new battery in the morning.
In the morning, my car was able to start, albeit with some struggle again. I made it all the way to work, and over lunch I was able to start it again and drive it to AutoZone to have them test the battery starter alternator. They told me the battery was too depleted to test it, so I went across the street to Walmart and bought a new battery. After replacing it, the car started like a champ as expected, and I drove back to Autozone to have them test my alternator and starter. The starter came back good, but they said that there was a fault in the test with the alternator. I gave them my old battery and asked them to trickle charge and test it just to see if it happened to still be a good battery that was just losing charge, or if it really was just a dying battery.
