I used to drive an Acura which had an option to have the trip computer automatically reset each time after refuel. I spoke to my dealer and they mentioned that this is an option.. I was able to get the 'range' to display be default but haven't been able to figure this out yet.

Also, my 2008 would automatically reset the trip odo upon fill up. Not the tripA or tripB odo's, but the one on the consumption screen. Does the new one do something similar? I new at every fill up that I would reset the MPG's for that tank whenever the miles reset. I can't find an analog to that in the new screens.
How are people calculating MPG's per tank, computer wise?
I was wondering why is it when I am going to get gas (full tank) while pumping, it will suddenly stop around half tank? And i know its half tank because i can see how much gallons its taken in. Is there a certain way of putting the handle in? So far its happened twice and its really annoying. Any reasons why it does that? Also does it on my dads toyota sequioa at times...

The time reset to 12:00 like expected but i can no loner change the time. Its still illuminated at night but i can no longer monitor gas mileage etc. I looked in the manual but could find no answer. The guy who did my tint has a VW tatoo and loved the ride...he knew it had a euro switch (not installed by me), and said he had to disconnect the battery while doing the job because the headlights wouldn't go off unless the key was out of the ignition and he needed to roll the windows up and down (obvi).
There is a number that is displayed above the mileage when my 2006 Sonata is off. Sometimes it will be really low, and sometimes high. I have looked through the Manual and searched the forums, what this number represents?

View 10 RepliesAs part of my 60 mile commute everyday to work and back, I would stop by a gas station in a town on my way home that has 30 cent cheaper gas than where I live. The first time I fueled the car there was no problem. Then today even though my gas was at 3/4 full and I stopped anyways to put in 5 dollars.
What happened next was strange, before I stopped to fuel my range was at 448 miles, with the needle exactly on the 3/4 mark, then I put in 5 bucks the needle did not move at all and my range was still at 448 even after I started driving back on the highway again hoping maybe it would reset. The needle then slowly went up but then the range didn't go any higher and was still decreasing as I kept on driving.
The thing different today was I accidentally put in Unleaded PLUS so it mixed with the 3/4 tank of just regular Unleaded gas..but as far as I know that shouldn't affect anything..right?
I've had this car for a couple of years now and I think this week is the first time I didn't 'fill up' when I got gas. So now the trip computer is all confused on miles to empty vs the almost half tank I have on the fuel gauge. I've tried resetting the trip & holding the button to reset when miles to empty is displayed. I'm a little nervous with the miles to empty in the single digits now.

View 3 RepliesWhen you close the doors, the car will turn out lights etc. after a while. Is there any way to set the car to lock automatically after being left for some time? I've been trying to develop new habits for locking the 2014 RX 450h but sometimes find I have left it unlocked. I find that pressing the dimple and waiting to be sure locking happened to take more time than locking our old Forester.

When I got to the first 10,000 miles it did the same thing but at that time I thought I reset it by mistake.
How long you have to drive a car after you reset computer before all the systems will respond? I have an '02 RT with a 3.5L. I had to reset to clear a check engine light on Tuesday and when I went to get an emissions test on Friday it failed because it could not get a reading from the evap or cat sensors. He said I would have to drive it a while for those to have readings but how long.
View 1 RepliesI just bought a 2000 Saturn SC2 that had a "service engine soon" light on. I took it to the shop to get it inspected and they reset the computer and said that I needed to drive it around 100 miles to reset the computer so it would pass MO state emissions. After driving it 160 miles only two of the required have reset. I took it on the highway at 55 MPH steady for 2 miles. Actually did around 8 miles. as the shop suggested and that did not work.

When you turn the car off and open the doors there to get out, the car doesn't give any warning sound to remind you that the moonroof is open! just a little msg on the cluster which I never look at n e way. even worse when I lock the car the roof wouldn't automatically close. My friend has F-20 328i and his moonroof closes automatically when he locks his doors. is there any setting in the car to fix this issue?
