View 3 RepliesMy garage is dark until I get in the car and push the button to open the garage door. I of course don't lock the car when it's in my own garage, so can the puddle lights be set to come on whether the car is locked or unlocked?
View 7 RepliesI drive a 2014 is250 F sport. My puddle lights don't turn on at all. It was to my understanding that the puddle lights are a standard feature of this car, yet it doesn't turn on.
View 4 RepliesOn a 2014 350, how hard is it to change out the puddle lights to LED's?
View 11 RepliesThis started yesterday. I parked the car, locked the door with the key in my pocket by pressing the button on the handle and the car beeped and locked. I came back that night and the puddle lights were still on. Figured it was a fluke, drove the car home and after being home for about 3 hours, looked out and noticed the puddle lights were still on. I tried locking and unlocking it, starting the car, everything. The lights never turned off.
View 13 RepliesWhat happened to the puddle lights for the rear doors?
They don't light up anymore...or did the fixture get changed to plain old reflectors?
So today got in the car and drove to school as normal and parked in the garage locked the car and went my way. Came back to the car and usually when you unlock the car the puddle lights come on as well, the drivers side puddle light did not come on but the passengers side did.
-I have changed my puddle lights to LED
- it was raining pretty heavily during my commute this morning.
later on as I was going to take the mirror apart to check the bulb I tested it once more and the bulb was working again and its been fine since. very weird. What it could have been? could there possibly be water getting in the housing? I checked and everything seems pretty tightly sealed after putting the mirror back together and no condensation or anything inside from what I can see.
I would like to install puddle lights underneath the car...to come on when the door is opened. I came across this thread that shows these lights. There is apparently a rubber grommet in the driver's floorboard which can be used to snake the wire into the cabin. Where exactly is this rubber grommet on a 06 model? I tried to find it today but was unsuccessful.
View 14 RepliesFeature on there es350 where the puddle lights stay on while the car in drive ?
View 1 RepliesShouldn't the puddle lights turn on when approaching the vehicle with the key fob? They will only come on if i unlock the vehicle with the fob. My lights come on with my 2008 ES350.
View 7 RepliesLooking for information as to which LED is the correct replacement to the factory bulb for the side mirrors on a 2014 IS250?
View 6 RepliesHow to remove the side mirrors to access the puddle lights underneath. I ordered some white HID Led replacement bulbs but not sure how to remove the side mirror.
View 14 RepliesI've looked in the owner's manual, but only find that they exist, no instructions on turning them on. I know I can unlock the doors with the key fob at night and the lights will come on, including the puddle lights on the bottoms of the rear view mirrors. If I touch the door handles instead of using the key fob (my preferred method of unlocking the vehicle), the doors unlock, but the puddle lights do not come on.
I would also like to be able to turn them on when I am getting ready to exit the car, especially so the wife does not step in a puddle.
Don't figure out how to replace the courtesy lamp under the side rearview mirrors.
View 6 RepliesNot sure if I want them under the mirror or under the car shining on the ground but I think it'd be neat to have white LEDs turn on when I unlock the car... Where I can get power? Something that comes on only when the car is unlocked. Only thing I can think of is the over head lights. I know there is an oem setup but I'm trying to make my own so I can decide if I like it or not w/o dropping a lot of $$$ on them.
View 8 RepliesI drive a manual 2001 vr6 jetta. I drove through a huge puddle on accident. It was still pouring and I couldn't see it, plus I've never seen this section of road flood before. Anyway my car is lowered and I have a CAI. I sucked up water, hydrolocked the car and it bogged down and died.
The next day I got it towed home, took out the plugs and did an oil change(water came out for about 5 seconds followed by the oil) and got a new air filter. I then cranked the engine blowing most of the water out of my cylinders then sprayed starter fluid in the cylinders let it sit for about an hour and cranked again. Put it all back together started it up and it sounded fine. I just let it idle until it got to running temp then shut it off. Came out the next morning started it up let it idle to running temp again shut it off then went to pull the drain plug to see if I could get anymore water out and all I saw was cappuccino colored oil. So I did another oil change and so far it has stayed a nice golden amber color.
Everything seems to be fine other than my EPC light is on. My ASR light is on too right from startup and pushing the button does nothing. I also have a CEL for emissions workshop(before this instance) but that's just an O2 sensor. And lastly it's been hard to shift into 3rd and 4th.
I don't have any problems with acceleration or surging idle or bogging down. The only things I actually notice are the trans issue and not being able to turn on and off my ASR.
Could I have water in the trans? What can I do to fix this? I was planning on doing a fluid change. I'm completely lost with the ASR problem. Everything I've read so far I don't fit in the norm of problems. EPC? No symptoms at all just a light.
I have a 2009 F150 that when I came home from Cabo Monday, had a big puddle of fluid under the truck. I took it to Ford and they said it was some type of bolt on the tranny that is nationally backordered for who knows how long. They topped off my fluid and told me I would be good to go till the part comes in.
View 14 RepliesKind of stumped on this electrical quandary. Father in law has an 05 limited. PO installed iron cross (I believe) hoop step bars. He wanted me to add puddle lights like i have on my truck. On my truck I tapped into the wires going to the oem lighted running boards. On his truck it looks like whoever removed those wires, I can not find them. So I thought, I would grab the front door lights as I believe they turn on when you unlock the doors along with the overhead lights. The lights, bulbs, socket and wiring are missing on both sides. Like someone took the time to pull the wires out of the harness or something. Nothing to be found. We pulled both door panels looking for them and nothing. So I would like to find a wire that i can grab power from that is triggered by the unlock button...
View 6 RepliesI am going to be installing puddle lights to light up my step bars and I am looking to find out which wire to tie into? I was going to tie into the dome light circuit (blk/blue) so they would come on with keyless entry door unlock, but my dome light won't come on. So I either have to figure that out or go to plan B and find a difference source. Adding lights down there and found another way to power these? I don't know if extended cabs ever had the option for lighted running boards, maybe there is a dedicated wire somewhere? I don't want them on all the time, only when the truck is unlocked to light the step.
View 12 RepliesJust out of curiousity, is there a way to get the fog lights to run without the low beams?
I would like to have them run when I have the running lights on instead of only with the low beams
(2015 is250 with full led headlights/fog lights)
Any way to drive the car with only the DRL LED strips and fog lights on only? Kind of like BMW can run with the halo lights and fog lights. Is there any computer remapping I can do or any rewiring?
