Has there been a proven methods for turning off the pesky seat belt alarm? I just recently picked up 2015 IS350 and I'm not a big fan of being told what to do, especially my car telling me to put my seatbelt on. My 2011 ISF was supper easy. I have done some digging and all I have come up with is that the dealer has to do it.

Only on the driver side. When the seat belt indicator goes off I wiggle the seat belt buckle and the indicator goes away.

I do wear my seat belt but I can't even get out of my driveway before it goes off, also if I drive one block to the store and don't feel like putting it on. I have tried the disabling procedure in the owners manual many times and it does not work. I have also tried other procedures posted on the internet and they didn't work either. If the alarm wasn't for other things like keys left in ignition, etc I would have cut the wires by now.

View 2 RepliesI recently just purchased a 97 celica st limited edition. I am in love with everything about it except one thing. The seat belts only retract when I turn the car off.... As long as the car is running the seat belts will not retract at all. Once I turn it off the seat belt instantly pulls tight. I'm at a loss and have tried searching online but have not found anything.

View 14 RepliesFor the first time I noticed a little glowing light[s] in my drivers seat belt buckle [female end....actually 2 lights, one on each side of the female part where the male end inserts]. It glows for about 10 seconds when starting up. Probably useful for connecting seat belt in the dark. What it does at night under normal driving conditions.
I did not see the same light on the passengers' side. Don't know if there is not one or it only works when there is weight in the seat.
Esoteric little item....but just wondering if there should be the same light on the passenger side and , if so, where /how to troubleshoot? Would it be a bulb or built in to the buckle? I did not check rear seat....I will do that next...
Ok, I been through 2 Lexus dealerships and they wont shut off the gosh darn seatbelt beeping noise this car is driving me crazy. I always wear my seatbelt but not when I hop into and drive out of my driveway.
My question is just like how BMW has there's is there a computer program where you buy a usb of some sort and plug it into your computer to shut it off yourself? It's those machines that let you check engine RPM's and what your car is doing and such.
Is there a way to disable the audible portion of the seat belt warning?
View 5 RepliesAnyways, I've put MAYBE 250 miles on my '08 GS460, and Ive noticed what appear to be wear marks from my jeans (just regular Diesel jeans). I didn't have this issue in my SC400, my girlfriend's Cayenne, or any of the other cars I drive on a regular basis. Is this common for these cars? Could the leather just be low quality? Here's a pic .....
