I want to replace the interior reading lights but not sure how to do so. I've taken a flathead screwdriver and popped out the plastic cover and revealed three bulbs. Am I supposed to twist them or pull them straight out? Or am I doing this completely wrong and should i pop out a cover or something?
View 1 RepliesI decided to put white LED lights in my map light(the front 2 light) and after I put on the bulb I turn the light on and all my interior light including my dome light went off. My car clicker the trunk, alarm, door lock, and unlock doesn't work either so how do I fix. I don't know if I blew a fuse and I can't check as I don't have my car manual.
View 11 RepliesI just had the clutch replaced and immediately noticed the door open light on the dash wouldn't go off. I tried all the door, hatch and hood to check and it stayed on. Even if I turned off the interior lights, the interior marker light on the bottom corner of the passenger side door only will stay on, the drivers side goes off. I already called the place where the clutch was done and he said to bring it in and he'll take a look at it....which I'm doing today..... What the cause could be. Maybe the door switch is faulty?

Afterwards I noticed that whenever I was driving the interior and exterior lights would flash every couple of seconds and the power steering light was on. Do I need to take it to the shop? Drive it around so the batter would juice up more?

We are about to head out on a 2 week camping trip. We will be at one site for the entire 2 weeks, and the truck will be driven very little during that time. Problem is that numerous people go in and out of the truck many times per day, x2 weeks. My previous tow vehicle had a means for turning off the interior lights during the daytime, when the doors would be constantly opening and closing.
This truck has interior lights and exterior lights and puddle lights and probably lights I don't even know about that come on and stay on for about 15-20 seconds every time the door opens. It has a funky rocker switch, that I hate, for the dash lights, that doesn't seem to turn off the interior lights. (I forgot the owners manual for the truck at a relatives place a week ago, so I can't check in there). Is there a way to manually keep the lights off during the day to save my battery?
Is there a way to turn all interior lights on the dash off when the headlights are off?
It is so bright that you can't see in the dark with everything off without being blinded.

View 14 RepliesFor my 2013 with HID lights, I'm adding a light bar, and trying to find a good wire to tap into so I can wire in a relay to turn the light bar on with my high beams. As it's going to a relay, I originally thought to use a fuse tap, but the high beam fuse is always powered. Any other wire I can use in the cab?
I'm also looking for an in cab wire for the reverse lights I'm adding. I've been trying to make sense of the wiring diagrams online, but I am not having any success.
Experiencing rattling sounds in the interior of any kind? I have for instance, the front passenger seatbelt holder rattles whenever going on bumps or just a rough road. I did play with it to see what was wrong or anything loose, no luck.
Another rattling sound I've been hearing was from the sub in the back. Behind the backseat headrest, keeps rattling whenever a rap song or any genre of music with nice bass kicks in. I have no ML package. Mind you, I have my tremble to max, mid at 2 bars under max, bass at 2 bars under max, and the rattling starts around volume 30. I feel as if something is loose under there. About to download a bass test onto my phone to play through bluetooth, but don't want to blow out my sub at the same time.
We all know that it's dim, along with all the other interior lights of the 06 GS300, I've already checked the door light and it's on a circuit board, and the I-JDM ones fit everything but the GS.

Sometimes my daughter falls asleep and I want to open the door at night without the lights coming on... Or If the mosquitoes are going crazy I might want to turn off the light so I don't get killed... I know I can hold the switch to the right and it turns lights on with doors closed, and hold for a second to the left to turn off. But what about opening the door? I know my old 2007 was able to do this function...

View 2 RepliesI am on my third RX now with my 2014 RX350. Previous to this car I had a 2007 RX400H which I loved. I find this new car much noisier when on pavement than my RX400H. Noticed the interior noise on the 2014 to be quite loud. I compared to my wifes Mercedes ML350 also a 2014 too and it's much louder.

However, if the doors are unlocked, the interior lights do not come on and I get in the car in the dark and fumble around in the dark getting situated. Is there a setting that controls this so I can change it?

Current Fixes I've completed
Sprayed electrical cleaner in all 4 door latch assemblies (didn't work)
Relubricated all 4 door latch assemblies with food grade lithium grease (didn't work)
Replaced passenger door full latch assembly (didn't work)
What is my next step? I have noticed that if I wedge the door lock button on the driver's side door into the lock position, the door ajar message turns off and stays off? I was thinking wiring or relay issues?
I have a 2006 Lexus GX 470, that i drove through a street with about 2.5ft of water the other day (there was no other option due to an crazy high tide coming up in downtown Charleston, SC).
This happened about a month ago. Afterwards I made it 500 yards and the car just powered off. While I was calling the tow truck (within 20 minutes), I was able to get it to crank back up. I drove it the next three weeks through Christmas without any issues. On Christmas I parked it and we drove our other car out of town. When I got back, it cranked for maybe 15 seconds, then died, and hasn't cranked since.
When I say it won't crank, all of the interior power and lights come on, but when you turn the key nothing happens. No clicking or anything such as a bad starter would cause.
I have taken it to the repair shop and they can't find the issue, and they tell me their scanner won't talk to my ignition, fuel injection, and I think emissions computer. They can talk to the ABS computer.
