I am hearing some whine engine during acceleration. Is this normal?

View 11 RepliesSo today during my drive I looked down and noticed my check engine light come on! The car has 7k miles on it!! All I've done to it was the ARK cat back and k and n drop in filter. I'm guessing O2 sensor but it's crazy to think a car with 7k miles had a bad sensor. Noticed the car was running a little rough lately but noting too crazy.

View 4 RepliesI just bought my car a few weeks back in July. I noticed that the seats appeared to be hotter with the A/C on. It turned out, I was right. With the seat heaters OFF and A/C ON, the seats would get hot.
I've posted an infrared video here .... Infrared showing seats of 2015 Lexus IS350 F-Sport - YouTube
For reference, I also made a video of normal heating (e.g., seat heat ON) ... Infrared of normal seat heating - 2015 Lexis IS350 F-Sport - YouTube
And you can see that the heating areas are different.
The dealer says this isn't happening. 2015 IS350 F-Sport
2014, IS350 F-Sport owner. Noticed the steering become resistive at higher speeds?
When I drive at freeway speeds (70-80mph) for, say, >10 minutes, I get a very large increase in the resistance in the steering. This is combined with a complete lack of caster response, resulting in very difficult control.
This occurs in all modes, and once it happens I have to come to a complete stop before the steering once again feels normal and the caster response returns.
I've had it in the service dept. since day 4 of owning the car, but no "error code = nothing wrong". They're now trying to convince me that it's supposed to work this way because of VGRS, but I'm calling B.S. on that. The car's handling and performance are decreased at higher speeds; definitely NOT what an F-Sport car is designed to do...
Just received my car back from the service department and noticed a slight clicking sound that isn't too loud, it's mechanical sounding.. Quieter than a ball point pen retracting I'd say. It clicks every quarter of a turn while stopped and low speeds.

When I go over a medium sized bump at moderate speeds, there is a loud thump coming from the trunk area. My trunk is empty and everything looks fastened down securely. The only thing I notice when I check the trunk, If I hit the center of the floor board, it imitates the sound almost identically. I checked the spare tire... everything.. In my trunk is the floorboard and the lexus carpeted mat.
I have 2015 IS350 F sport. At 400 miles I started hearing this static sound which seems to come from the center or the driver side dashboard. I don't hear it if the car is not moving but as soon as I hit 5-10 mph and above, it becomes audible. I tried pressing the dashboard to see if there are loose areas but couldn't find one. Also, I thought they may be coming from the center speaker but the sound doesn't change whether the stereo is on or off. Of note, it is more audible along bumpy roads.
View 6 RepliesI noticed just recently my 15 IS350 F- Sport doesn't have elapsed time in the multi information display. Instead it has 2 different average fuel economy spots under Driver info 1.
I remember seeing it on a 14 IS base, is this something different 15 or F-sport? Is there a setting to get it back?
I got my all new Lexus but driver door has been rattle since 400 mile. It's like plastic vibrating and creaking.... I think it's the door panel is making the noise especially on rough road. When it rattles, I can place my hands on and share the vibration, then the noise would be somehow suppressed.
The problem is that I took it to dealer and they, as usual, cannot reproduce the problem! I took down the door panel myself, tightened all screws...and the noise...got worse....
My car is making this noise from the driver's front wheel when applying the brakes and EVEN CLUELESS AND SURPRISINGLY the noise shows up when cruising at low speed (haven't try freeway speed yet) without stepping on the brakes.
This just happened to me tonight, car is around 10,000 miles, I'm going to take it into the dealer to see what the hell is with Lexus. I suspect it might be the rotors and built in brake dusts, I just don't know, but the noise is unusual enough to be concern about.
I doubt it's the built in brake dusts because previously I've not washed my car/ wheel for a longer period of time, but I'm not sure. Could it just be that my rotor is done?
I know the front brakes need a replacement soon, but it shouldn't be my brakes since the noise still shows up even when I don't step on the brake pedal, unless the car brakes for me itself......
I cant take it into the dealer until weekend, hopefully it's safe to drive around within the next 2 days.
So I've got 13,375 miles on my car and I was at an intersection and when I put the car into sport mode the check engine light came on and now it won't go off. My car isn't displaying any other messages or lights and the gas cap was definitely on all the way. What could trip it so early in the life cycle, had the last scheduled maintenance 3 months ago too???
View 14 Repliesanyway to set it up so it always starts in S or S+ mode so I don't have to always remember to do it.
View 8 RepliesIt's just the throttle response? Is steering or brakes enhanced or is it just me? I know the Is250 didn't get the suspension option like the IS350.
View 10 RepliesI have a 4GS F Sport, about 2 months old. For the past few weeks, I've been hearing a whine that goes up and down with the RPMs. It almost sounds like the noise you would hear if you didn't ground an aftermarket radio correctly. Not sure if it was there when I drove it/bought it - I think I would have noticed it, but it seems to be getting louder, about as loud as the sound of the engine (unless I'm really getting on it and the resonator kicks in).
I have a buddy with the exact same car (different color, bought it a couple of weeks after I did) and the whine on his sounds much quieter - still there, just quieter. I've spoken to the dealer twice and have ridden with a tech. We drove mine and a GS Luxury. In the Luxury Edition you hear it but it is quieter, which he says is added insulation (first time I'd heard of any difference like that between the two). The tech said it is likely the alternator which is triple wound to handle all of the electrical requirements and it's just the way the car is.
How this is still happening. My gf's '14 IS250 AWD has had 3 misfire code that popped up at about 8.5k, 13K, and 15k miles now. First time it happened it wasn't severe, it vibrated a bit and engine light lit up. Took it to Openroad Lexus of Richmond and they said it's a random misfire code and no other troubling codes came up. They suggested maybe it was bad gas. So they reset the ECU, cleared the code and we went on our way.
Fast forward to 13k miles, only about half a year later, it happened again, except it vibrated vigorously and the engine light is flashing. So we had it towed back this time and have them look at it again. Codes were random misfire and misfire on cylinder 3. Now this time they said the culprit is a bad ignition coil. So they replaced that and car is alright again.
At 15k miles, about 2.5 months from the last incident (a few days ago), same thing happened again. It even went into limp mode on a stretch of road that had a speed limit of 50 mph. So again we towed it in to the same dealership to have them fix it, yet again. Interestingly, the code is misfire in cylinder 5. The tech mentioned they tried swapped ignition coil and plug to see if problem will go away but it didn't so they checked the fuel injectors for fault. The injector was faulty and leaking. They saw lots of fuel in that cylinder so they replaced the injector with a new one.
She only ever gets premium for gas, so all that bad gas thing doesn't hold. And the car has always been serviced on time by Openroad Lexus of Richmond, according to their recommended intervals.
just bought a 2014 is 350 with f sport package. previously had 2011 is 250. i notice more engine noise, like a rumble or slight knocking at idle. service tells me this is normal for the 350 engine and the same engine in the new gs. My 250 was very quiet. the new is 350 is still quiet but there is discernible engine noise at idle.
View 14 RepliesExperience a grinding noise at around 1500-1800 rpm when driving?
The noise sounds like the 2nd gen valve spring start up but not as loud.
The dealer was able to replicate the noise on my car but they don't know what is causing it.
They called the regional guy to come look at it but he doesn't have a clue where or what is causing the noise.
2015 350fpsort
30k miles
Noise starts at around 10K-15k miles and dealer couldn't replicate it then but I hear it everyday.

I am curious about the new 2016 IS3XX cars - it looks like the mileage is the same, displacement the same, engine the same (?) so what do they do to the car to reduce the HP by about 50? Seems strange that anyone would buy a 300 - do they want less HP and torque?
I wonder how hard it would be to reverse the "detuning" to get he IS300 up to 306 HP?
3IS 2014-2015 1/4 miles time and mode?
View 8 RepliesAs winter comes in full force to NYC I've been experiencing some rough idle on my is350 AWD even after warming up my car for about 3-5 min. For ex. when I am at a stop light and have my foot depressed on the brake it feels as if the engine is revving higher than usual as if the acceleration pedal is lightly being depressed while I am braking. Is it just due to the cold weather?
