View 5 RepliesToo bright for me at night. A friend even told me " Stevie Wonder will see the map clearly". Is there a way to dim the brightness of the Nav screen?
View 4 RepliesRight now it doesn't chance background shade when at night time, it always stays white.
How to change so that it automatically changes to black when in night time ?
Having the screen on the dashboards constantly dimming for no reason?
View 12 RepliesAs the title says, the auto-dimming mirrors are working intermittently, I'm assuming a problem with the sensor in the mirror it's self?
View 2 RepliesAny work around/fix for the gauge brightness dropping so dramatically with the headlights on? I have it maxed out on the rocker switch (brightest) but would like to be closer or equal to daytime brightness.
View 3 RepliesHave a question concerning the nav screens lighting/dimming. If I'm correct, doesn't the nav screen appear dark with highlighted details, at nighttime & during the daylight, the screen is bright (white) with dark detail? The other night I got into the car & turned on the nav system. It appeared normal (dark screen), but suddenly switched to the light screen. I thought it may have something to do with the dimmer switch, but i turned it on/off with no change. Is there something that I may be forgetting to try or could it be the sensor that lets it know whether it's night or day? Also, is that the sensor located on the dash (passenger side)?
View 3 RepliesHow this is still happening. My gf's '14 IS250 AWD has had 3 misfire code that popped up at about 8.5k, 13K, and 15k miles now. First time it happened it wasn't severe, it vibrated a bit and engine light lit up. Took it to Openroad Lexus of Richmond and they said it's a random misfire code and no other troubling codes came up. They suggested maybe it was bad gas. So they reset the ECU, cleared the code and we went on our way.
Fast forward to 13k miles, only about half a year later, it happened again, except it vibrated vigorously and the engine light is flashing. So we had it towed back this time and have them look at it again. Codes were random misfire and misfire on cylinder 3. Now this time they said the culprit is a bad ignition coil. So they replaced that and car is alright again.
At 15k miles, about 2.5 months from the last incident (a few days ago), same thing happened again. It even went into limp mode on a stretch of road that had a speed limit of 50 mph. So again we towed it in to the same dealership to have them fix it, yet again. Interestingly, the code is misfire in cylinder 5. The tech mentioned they tried swapped ignition coil and plug to see if problem will go away but it didn't so they checked the fuel injectors for fault. The injector was faulty and leaking. They saw lots of fuel in that cylinder so they replaced the injector with a new one.
She only ever gets premium for gas, so all that bad gas thing doesn't hold. And the car has always been serviced on time by Openroad Lexus of Richmond, according to their recommended intervals.
So mine is a 2014 is250awd and I currently have 16,000 miles. Sometimes when I put my car into park the gear lever doesn't always go all the way into park. It kinda gets stuck, then the car under its own weight will pull the lever into park. I will see an obvious movement of the gear lever going even further into the park position.
Sometimes I try to be a little bit more forceful with it, to push the gear lever into park. So it doesn't get pulled or clicked into place by the weight of the car gently settling forward or backwards depending where I parked.
But The other day I pulled into and parked on a bit of an incline, put the car in park and got out. When I got back into the car from the store, when I sat in the car it rolled back what seemed like and inch and a loud click and I see the gear lever get forced into park as the car rolled back. So it seemed to me I left the car, and it wasn't quite in park or drive. Which seems a bit unsettling to me.
On the left side of the rear tail lights, only one back up light is lighting up when put on "R", the right side i noticed it is of a different bulb pattern. I then called my lexus salesperson to inquire on this and he is telling me its meant to be this way?
View 9 RepliesExperience such a noise? Seems to happen only when accelerating, but the noise seems to dissipate when you let go of the accelerator pedal.
Best way to describe would be a continuous whining noise.
I'm having an issue with my Nav system. I'm not sure if its going out or if it's due to the cold weather but it doesn't immediately come on when I start the car. At some point while I'm driving I'll notice that it's on and working but it seems to also be intermittently switching between the day and night time screen mode. How to check to determine if it needs to be replaced or if there is a fix?
View 4 RepliesI am in the midst of wiring up the Bold Sport kit that comes with the OEM mirror with build Rain/light sensor. It comes with a nicely made wiring harness with OEM terminals already installed. The kit can be found here for reference. [URL]
Right now I am following the directions from myturbodiesel.com [URL]
It instructs to add the power source to the fuse box. No problem. Says to add the RLS to fuse pin 17 and the Mirror power to pin 7.
Here is the diagram they show.
The problem is on my '13 Golf R, 17 is already taken. I can certainly add to a different pin on the same bus. So not really an issue there.
The other issue is that there is no power bus for pins 7-11 on my R. What gives? There is a power bus on pins 1-6 but they are all taken already.
I have driven two Lexus IS 250's with the standard 17" wheels. I am considering trading up to the 2014 model, which appears to often come with 18" wheels on the AWD model (which is what I am looking for).
What differences can I expect on the 18" wheels vs. what the 17" gives now?
It's just the throttle response? Is steering or brakes enhanced or is it just me? I know the Is250 didn't get the suspension option like the IS350.
View 10 RepliesI have an 08 LS460 and set my lights to auto.
I have noticed recently, two times I have turned the car off and the lights stay on.
One time was in the garage and I never lock the doors while parking it in my garage.
They were on for 15 mins after I turned off the car.
One thing that always annoyed me about my 2013 Prius C was that screen on the climate controls is SO BRIGHT at night, and turning the dimmer down didn't do anything to change it. I like a very dark dash when driving at night.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 Sonata, last night I was driving and when using my high beam headlights they would stay bright and then dim then brighten up again. The battery has not been replaced since I have had this car, but I didn't know if it could be the battery, alternator or maybe the headlights? They work fine on regular beam, no dimming on this setting.
View 2 RepliesIs there any way to dim the nav screen at night? I have the Limited with Tech package.
View 14 RepliesAccording to the navigation manual (attached), the navigation screen should go to the home screen within 5 seconds. But my IS never goes to the home screen without pressing the home button, but it always shows the full screen map. I tried many different things including "Auto Screen Change" setting but nothing seems to work.

Any opinions on adding an auto dimming mirror? I miss having homelink, and I miss having the auto dim feature. Are there even options out there? If there are- have any of you used them? Do you like it? Hate it? How hard is the install?
