In the process of wrapping my center console in carbon fiber, have become stuck at this step here. How does the big button come off that selects Eco/normal/sport s/s+. ? The button does not slide through the bottom, like the snow and traction buttons, it is too wide. So it has to come off at the top, but how?

I would like to tap the wires behind it to install my dash cam so then I don't need to run the wires all the way around the windscreen and stuff. I did this on the Rav4 which was pretty simple to remove, but I don't want to take any chances with the IS.
How to take it apart?
IS350 fsport. I have had the car for two weeks already and these sounds are driving me crazy. Its definitely coming from the center console area, I can even move it a bit and its makes the squeak sound. On bumps something like a little plastic pebble feels like it rattles. I went to lexus and they couldn't really do anything about it. They said its normal when two plastics come together to squeak.
View 14 RepliesThere is a buzzing vibration in my car over rough roads and it seems to occur only when it's warmer than about 50 degrees. I know that may seem odd but I've been paying attention to it for about 3 weeks. It only happens when the road is rough e.g. has a lot of cracks in it or has a lot of granite in it. The sound is like a bee. Now that it's colder here I notice that I can't hear it on the same roads when it's 50 degrees or lower. It's hard to pinpoint where the sound is coming from too. I know someone posted that a clip was loose from when they had tinting done but it seems my case would be different -- like something (nut and bolt?) is expanding and contracting. I'm not sure I want he dealership to take the car apart trying to find it. I can live with it but it is irritating as I often drive with the radio off and the car is silent and solid otherwise.
View 5 RepliesI am 3 weeks into my 2014 ES300h, my first Lexus and first hybrid. I am hearing this odd rattling noise from the center console, it's almost like two wires touching. The noise comes mainly at low speeds and mostly what it seems like on the hybrid train.
I took it to the dealer who is saying they hear no noise or normal hybrid noise. Since this car is supposed to have a super quite cabin I am wondering if I am being taken for a ride (figuratively) .
I am having trouble finding on how to remove my center console. Looking for some instructions, preferably without taking out the seats.
Due to the clear stuff flaking off i need to repaint it so I've decided to give it a go and feel clueless.
I would like to buy a V to deliver mail. I would need to remove the center console so I can sit in the middle. I did this in my 05. Can it be done fairly easily and will the mode switch come out of the console for mounting elsewhere, like under the dash or seat?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius V, and somehow A tin of Altoids has fallen behind the drawer, (hidden drawer) of the center console. How to remove the drawer to access behind it?
I can't see any catch or release to trigger releasing the drawer. I also think accessing it by opening up the whole console from the top is risky as the EV, ECO, and PWR mode buttons are wired into it.
As some of you may be aware, I swapped out my OEM HU recently for an aftermarket one -- I show it in post 486 here -- and for various reasons, I decided to go back to stock. I got a pair of 70-1761 & 71-1761 wiring harnesses (because I have a 4-channel aftermarket amplifier) and in a lapse of judgement I tapped the dimming wire into the illumination wire.
Later that night, I noticed when driving with my headlights or parking lights on, the center console buttons don't light up. Specifically, the radio, home & other buttons don't light up and all & the climate control dial knobs are very dim. The ventilation buttons buttons of the HVAC all light up fine & my hazard & passenger seat belt light up fine.
I already check the instrument cluster dash light control & I notice the dial knobs react to it but are still very dim. The brightness of the instrument cluster doesn't match their brightness at all.
I went ahead an looked at my fuse box under the steering wheel column and checked the 10 amp PANEL fuse & it's not blown. For good measure, I swapped it out but the buttons still don't light up. I then checked EVERY fuse under the steering wheel column & non are blown.
In addition to that, I checked every 10 amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box & non of them are blown.
How do you remove the armrest storage part of the center console? Ive undone the two screws by the shifter and the whole thing shakes but it doesn't come out...

Completely stock, no swap. No motor noise when I click the buttons on forward, back, up or down. Nothing. Everything looks connected under the seat but not entirely sure. Fuse 1 and 44 are good on the side of the dash. This is for a 2003 Wagon with GLX interior and most upgrades from the factory. I need to move the seat in order to remove the center console/radio cage as it's blocking the armrest nut.
View 1 RepliesI need to change my rear brakes on my 2010 Matrix. According to my Haynes repair manual, I first need to loosen the hand brake cable which is found under the center console. My problem is, is that I can't figure out how to remove the center console!!! The instructions in the Haynes repair manual for removal of the center console are for 2008 and earlier Matrix models.
View 8 RepliesI drive a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The car has had some electrical problems going back about a year and a few months that I have neglected to fix. The first problem was with the shifter not being able to move out of park without hitting the button inside the center console to do a shift lock override, which started last August.
The second problem was with the ignition not being able to release the key without hitting a switch inside the ignition, which started back in the Spring. I have just been rolling along promising to eventually address those, but yesterday the car radio stopped functioning. Then this morning the car would not start.
The electrical system comes on just fine (save the radio), but when I go to start it the car just clicks over. I did not leave any lights or switches on, so I am assuming it must be some sort of problem with the electrical system.
I am in need of some measurements on this type of center console. Length, width, height.
