At each car startup, after the navigation loads, it eventually settles on the map screen. Would prefer my personally adjusted home screen (the home button nearby the mouse) to just automatically appear on starting the vehicle. Is there a way to do this?
View 4 RepliesAccording to the navigation manual (attached), the navigation screen should go to the home screen within 5 seconds. But my IS never goes to the home screen without pressing the home button, but it always shows the full screen map. I tried many different things including "Auto Screen Change" setting but nothing seems to work.

The car is about a week old. Today, the NAV system (ML version), re-started a few times and then shut completely off. Re-starting the car does not work. Got a totally "off" screen and no sound. 2014 350?
Is there some way to reset it or turn it back on? I can't imagine that a brand new Lexus would have this sort of issue.
I got my car today and am a little annoyed. When the car is started the navigation turns on and displays my Dealerships Name and Picture. Is there any way to get this removed and do I have to go back to have them take this off?
View 12 RepliesWhen we start the car, it goes to the Nav screen and the screen freezes up. We cannot do anything on the touch screen or even stop / start the radio using the button. We have to stop the engine and restart it to work normally. This happened a couple of times in the last two days. We have a Black / Black 2014 GX that we picked up last month.

View 4 RepliesI've had my ISF for almost a year now but I'm just now noticing that the navigation screen on my 08 does not darken the colors when the headlights come on. The map still shows up bright white and can be distracting.
Is there a setting I am missing somewhere to change this to black with orange accents instead when the headlight low beams are on, or is it just supposed to be white on the map view all the time? My wife has a 2014 ES and it does this automatically. Come to think of it, every other car I've had that had navigation did this automatically. I tried searching but couldn't find any threads on this already.
I was heading to the gym tonight and noticed that when I had my headlights on the nav screen stays white and does not go into the dark mode it is supposed to with the headlight on. I pressed the display button and there was no indication that there was an option to go back and fourth between day and night mode as usual . Only the option to adjust brightness and contrast. I do have the option to turn off the screen but this is annoying.

For those that have had the entire central control module replaced by Lexus with (I assume a refurbished/manufactured) one, have they held up? Are the repaired units anymore robust than the originals?

View 3 RepliesDiagnosing different minor problems with my sc430. Tthe lastest one is that my navigation screen will not tilt back so the cover will go over it. It seems like its tilted forward all the way. The screen still works and all. But the tilt button does nothing and its too far out for me to get the wood grain cover to go over it. Is this a common issue? and whats the remedy?

I find it strange that my navigation home screen has the dealership name and logo on starting up the car so I figure that it could be set or change.
Is there a video or guide on how to do it? I want to put my family picture as the start up home screen.
I have a 2013 GS 350 and I think the display is kind of wasted space most of the time. The default view is to show the map which is in terrible resolution and the navigation is too cumbersome to be useful. When I need navigation I use google maps which obeys voice commands, is always up to date and has traffic flow information.
Is there a way to hack the nav screen to be more useful? Perhaps display items from the phone? Maybe some other use while driving?
Just picked up an '05 with the Nav/ML. Everything seems to work, but the navigation screen is painfully slow to update while driving. Sometimes I will be several blocks (1/4 - 1/2 mile) before it catches up with where I actually am. This doesn't seem normal, but figured I'd ask here... is this normal?

View 1 RepliesFor the past few days, every time i turn the car ON (with the headlights ON), the nav screen, clock and surrounding buttons illuminate as they should, but after ~3 seconds, the illumination for the surrounding buttons and clock shut off.
Also, the touch-screen functioning and surrounding buttons do not work at any time. The nav screen remains illuminated, however the touch-screen buttons and surrounding buttons do not work. If i turn the car off and restart, same thing; all lights illuminate for about 3 seconds then stop.
During the day with no lights on, the clock will illuminate for ~3 seconds, then shut off just like above. None of the surrounding buttons (climate, map, infom audio, display, etc) work at all.
What would cause this unusual condition? I feel like if a fuse were blown, it wouldn't work, period. But, the lights illuminate for a few seconds before shutting off.
The emergency flasher button works and illuminates always, and the passenger airbag lights do, likewise. I pulled the nav unit from the car and checked all cables, and they all appear in place.
I can communicate with the car via the voice commands, but that's it.
what might be causing these strange symptoms?
Yesterday I noticed my nav screen stopped responding but partially. It'll let me press buttons on left side but not right side. Unfortunately the "I agree" is on right side so I can't even get passed that screen. I don't use the nav but I'd rather have the map showing then "Caution...."
