When you're driving, how often do you change driving modes? (Eco, Normal, Sport/Sport+)

View 14 RepliesEco/Normal/Sport S/S+ Mode... the literature doesnt say much except it changes throttle response and power output. For the Sport modes it says that "The rear-wheel drive IS 350 F SPORT's Sport S+ mode also tightens the suspension..." Are the shocks somehow adjustable, or is this just marketing BS?
View 14 RepliesSo after figuring out that my 08 is in power mode and will not automatically go back to econo mode ... how can I manually change modes on a GEN II? I know there is a way as I got it in that mode and can't get it out!
View 19 RepliesI have a 2013 Non-F Sport Model with Navigation and was wondering if there was a secret on HOW To TURN OFF the Navigation? Not the whole screen, just the Navigation part. I see how to turn off the screen but I want to just see my Radio/SAT menu on the screen as I do not use Navigation that often. Right now Navigation is always on and takes up 3/4 of the screen!
also... is is safe to drive in any of the 3 modes (eco, normal, sport) ALL the time in all conditions ? As in using Eco for driving all the time (city and highway), or is one better than the other for certain conditions.
My friend just bought his ISF two weeks ago. It's bolts-on. He has an issue...
While hard accelerating in all modes the car some times shifts @5500 RPM...
What the problem is?
Is it "safe" (meaning for the car) to change driving modes while driving? I understand that all it really does is change the way the throttle pedal works but just want to make sure that I don't have to be stopped to change modes.
View 8 RepliesI remember when I was turning on my AC, outside air was closed and when I was turning it off it was switching to recirculated air mode. Now its not functioning like that.
View 8 RepliesI recently lowered my 2015 rc350 f sport awd with tanabe springs. I am hearing the "hinge" noise when i go over small bumps, in all modes.
I think i am hearing it from the left front or rear side. Is this from lowering the car or something wrong with it?
On a 2014 350, how hard is it to change out the puddle lights to LED's?
View 11 RepliesI got my car today and am a little annoyed. When the car is started the navigation turns on and displays my Dealerships Name and Picture. Is there any way to get this removed and do I have to go back to have them take this off?
View 12 RepliesThis is my first Lexus and first new car in a long time. I have a 2015 3IS RWD and looking through the Services Guide I don't see any service interval for replacing the rear diff fluid or the trans fluid. All the manual says is under "inspect the following" check diff fluid level and check trans for leaks--and that the trans is a closed unit with no dip stick.
As far as my automotive knowledge goes, all transmissions are closed and yet many in the past have had dip sticks. Also, I've never heard of just topping off diff fluid if you're low. And both definitely have had service intervals! I change the diff fluid in my S2000 every 15K miles.
I find it hard to believe that the Diff and Trans fluid doesn't EVER need to be replaced. What are the service intervals for these two and the fluid weights?
Does the 2014 es300h have a timing belt that requires changing at specific intervals? The dealer told me he thought they are using a timing chain hence no scheduled maintenance.
View 6 RepliesI just traded in my 14 IS 350 for 13 GS 350. In my IS, while i'm driving at any speed and change mode from Normal to Sport, i can see the RPM change higher instantaneously. But in 13 GS 350, nothing happens in RPM gauge. Is the 6 and 8 transmission different here ?
View 14 RepliesI thought I'd finally move into the 21st century and jump on the mp3/bluetooth streaming wagon. Was always the traditional CD-album guy and after this, I may need to go back.
Problem is, I can't change track with the radio or steering wheel controls. Also, unlike the phone which automatically is available for use after the auto-connection happens via the car's controls, I have to manually launch the player on my phone then push play on it. Once done, music plays from the BT Audio system and when that track is complete, moves on automatically to the next one. The control of pausing, playing, skipping tracks does not work via the car (steering and audio controller) and is ONLY possible from the phone which defeats the purpose of a hands-free driving experience.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Android v4.3 and I've tried both Google Play Music and the native "Music" player on the device, with no luck. I have the standard Display Audio Controller (no-NAV).
Was driving through a parking lot at around 10 MPH today, when the car shut itself off. Zero power to the wheels, steering lost all power, and the electronic screens went blank momentarily. While the car was coasting to a stop, a message appeared in the center "information display" that read something to the effect of "Place your car in N and hit the start button to restart your car." While I was still coasting to a stop I did, and the car fired back up.
Just over 8 months and 9K miles on the car, and I'm hoping it's an anomaly. For the next 10 miles, I was just waiting for the thing to power off at 65MPH on the freeway.
Any way to drive the car with only the DRL LED strips and fog lights on only? Kind of like BMW can run with the halo lights and fog lights. Is there any computer remapping I can do or any rewiring?
View 9 RepliesHave a problem with headlights shutting off while ur driving? Recently my headlights would only turn either the R or L side on, and then turn right off.....
View 9 RepliesLast week I got my 2015 IS250. I was wondering if we can drive with the running lights and the fog lights on at the same time. I try on the parking position and the fogs wouldn't turn on, and on auto it's only for the DRL. How to make this setup work. I saw someone driving like that on some other threat but I couldn't find the conversation so here I am...
View 4 RepliesLast month I got that update when I turned on my IS and after the update it changed the nav layout while I am driving. I can't figure out where to change it back where only the map is shown while I drive on the highway. It only splits into two screens while I am on the highway and it shows how far away each exit is. Here's a picture of it while I'm on the highway .....
View 14 RepliesI have a 2015 Lexus is350 fsport. Today while driving the audio just stopped. I switched to cd and it played and then stopped once I restarted my phone which was still connected to Bluetooth. I've heard this can be attributed to the factory amp being dead! Where to find it?
View 5 RepliesDriving home on the high way today the amber PCS light starts flashing for no apparent reason. I had been driving for about 3 hours at high speed and was in the last hour of my return from holidays when it came on.
