View 9 RepliesI have a 2014 Lexus ES300h. I just started noticing that after 2 to 4 hours after turning the car was turned off, I am finding what sounds like the electric motor running. There is a buzzing sound. I can turn the car back on for a few mins and then back off, the electric buzzing sound goes away.
Since owning the car, I've never found the car buzzing. It sounds like the electric motor is charging the batteries. Do I need to have this checked? I have 28k miles on my car and have never had an issue.
I picked up a 2014 IS 250 AWD in July. I was indecisive about the LED headlights but after a little research, I decided it was a good call. However, now that's in winter and dark out at 4pm I've really noticed how low the LED headlights are aimed. The high beams are even worse! I had a 12 GTI Autobahn and that car had the best headlights I've ever had and I was able to raise the headlights just hair very easily.
At any rate, I spent an hour today trying to figure out how to raise the headlights. Any DIY on this yet or can even locate the leveling devices? Also, I wanted to change out the H16 11W fog light bulbs but 11W seems so dim... The average bulb is a 50-55W. Won't that melt the housing?
How hard is it to manually adjust the headlights? is it possible?
View 2 RepliesI recently got coilovers installed, and tonight was the first time that i drove at night with them on. My headlights are point down and is not getting the distance that it use to have, how to adjust (preferably with pictures or videos) my headlight so that they are pointing more upwards? I thought I've seen a thread on how to do it but i can't find it anymore. I drive a 2014 is250....
View 14 RepliesI'm lowered about 1 inch in the front and when I drive at night its tough to see about 15-20 feet past my car. Its very bright in that range but past 20 feet it is very dark if there are no street lights. Any manual way to adjust the headlights?
View 6 RepliesSettings for B7 S model? Possible to adjust the timer for the headlights to remain on/off after shutting the car off? Seems there are minimal to no settings for this model. Wonder if a firmware update or the dealer can adjust this and other features?
View 4 RepliesSo I'm driving and my headlights shut off! I flick the brights and the lights come back on instantly. 5 minutes later it happens again. So I'm driving around wondering when it's going to go out for good and flicking my surprise headlights. I should mention the brights are out and I haven't located a fuse for them. In any case it wouldnt be a fuse and probably not a short as the lights come on so dependably when I flick the switch. I'm thinking maybe a bad combo switch or maybe a bad relay.
1989 Nissan Pathfinder .....
Wiring or a switch. I looked in the shop manual and I couldn't find a relay. Maybe in finding the issue with the brights will relate. Also I'm not driving this car at night right now.
I have a 2007 and I've just developed my first problem since I purchased the car new in 2007. While driving, my headlight(s) will turn off by themselves.
Sometimes it's the right one, sometimes it's the left one, and sometimes they will both stop working. Turning the headlight switch off and then on brings them back to life.
What part in the headlight system is causing this?
Any link to a video on how to adjust the headlight height on a 2015 IS350 F-Sport?
View 4 RepliesRecently I've noticed that my Automatic Headlight Leveling System has been acting strange. The headlights are constantly "scanning" up and down when driving and even when parked. other drivers are flashing me thinking I'm flashing them. I get the ALS error light on the dash rarely, but it always comes and goes, but the lights are always jumping up and down. I went to Lexus about a month ago and they said they didn't find any errors with the system. So they let me go with no charge. I finally made it in for a true diagnostic workup as the problem still continued, and after a diagnostic fee I was told that my Front Left Ride Height Sensor was failing.
View 11 RepliesI'm working on the '73 F250 in my sig. I'm not very skilled when it comes to electrical work and I don't want to hack things. First up is I'm wiring a 7-way trailer connector with brakes. I need to tap into the brake light switch at the pedal, what is the cleanest way to do this? I was thinking of sticking a blade connector in the existing connector or adding a plug pigtail.
Also in the future I will (hopefully) be doing a 3G alternator swap and adding relays to keep my headlights from shutting off. I'm looking for suggestions on a junkyard or aftermarket fuse block that will accommodate the circuit breaker for the trailer brake, the 100 amp fuse for the 3g swap and the relays for the headlights.
So my SE was shutting off while driving and after numerous visits to the dealer more like 17 times in a matter of 8 months or so I decided to sue them.
Last day at the dealer surrendering the vehicle in photo.

View 8 RepliesSo we've been having trouble with the car which is a 2000 Grand Am SE 2.4ltr. This all started a month ago. One day the car wouldn't start. I bought a new battery (old one was 5 years old time for a new one) and started and ran just fine for the first day. The next day the car did not start. After having my brother in law check it out, he suggested we get a new fuel pump relay so I went out and bought it. It fixed the problem and the car was starting and running again. A few days later while my brother and I where driving down south, the car shut off while driving. It started happening more and more to the point were it happened everyday.
When the car shuts off, all the lights stay on and a noise comes from the dashboard. The noise sounds electrical. The car usually would start after 30 minutes to an hour. Last night it shut off on me and it didn't start after 2 hours of sitting on the side of the road. It doesn't happen at highway speeds, only really while driving locally. Now the car is still not starting and I've no clue as to what could be the problem. I've read that it can be a number of things. From the fuel pump, dirty fuel filter, ecu, ignition coil, etc.
Was driving through a parking lot at around 10 MPH today, when the car shut itself off. Zero power to the wheels, steering lost all power, and the electronic screens went blank momentarily. While the car was coasting to a stop, a message appeared in the center "information display" that read something to the effect of "Place your car in N and hit the start button to restart your car." While I was still coasting to a stop I did, and the car fired back up.
Just over 8 months and 9K miles on the car, and I'm hoping it's an anomaly. For the next 10 miles, I was just waiting for the thing to power off at 65MPH on the freeway.
I have the above mentioned vehicle and have had 5 incidents of the vehicle shutting down on me while I am driving. A warning light (triangle with !) come on, and a message that says "Stop Safely Now", at which point the car shuts down and runs only on electric battery power for a short period of time to allow you to pull over. I have figured out that it only happens when it is either raining outside, or I have just gotten a car wash with undercarriage spray down.
I have had the throttle body replaced as well as the master air flow cleaned out, neither of which have fixed the issue. This is becoming a safety issue, since it has happened twice now on the highway going around 65 mph.
Our Ranger, 2002, 4 cyl. 2.3 5 speed is shutting down while driving. This has happened twice very recently. Both times on interstate at highway speed. First it loses power then completely shuts down. After stopping, turning key "off" it restarts and runs fine. It does take a longer time to crank before starting.
It is not throwing any codes and the CE is not coming on. I suspect the fuel pump is shutting down. Seems like fuel pressure loss is reason for loss of power? Then extended cranking to restart is the initial build up? What else could it be? If not the pump itself, is there something that would take away power from the pump then get reset?
Any way to drive the car with only the DRL LED strips and fog lights on only? Kind of like BMW can run with the halo lights and fog lights. Is there any computer remapping I can do or any rewiring?
View 9 RepliesWhen you're driving, how often do you change driving modes? (Eco, Normal, Sport/Sport+)
View 14 RepliesLast week I got my 2015 IS250. I was wondering if we can drive with the running lights and the fog lights on at the same time. I try on the parking position and the fogs wouldn't turn on, and on auto it's only for the DRL. How to make this setup work. I saw someone driving like that on some other threat but I couldn't find the conversation so here I am...
