2015 IS 350 F sport RWD ... Experience a false seat belt indicator tone while driving? This happens very rarely like 1-2 a month. Only had the vehicle for 3 months. Only on the driver side. When the seat belt indicator goes off I wiggle the seat belt buckle and the indicator goes away.
View 7 RepliesI have an 09 Accord (LX), one day the airbag light (SRS indicator) on the dash would stay on when driving, and the Seatbelt Reminder Indicator would detect the driver's seatbelt isn't engaged, even when it is.
A day later, the seatbelt indicator resumed normal operation, but the SRS light still remained on. I took it to two separate dealers and neither of them could connect to the SRS Control Unit to pull error codes from the onboard computer. They say I need to replace the SRS Control Unit to even begin troubleshooting this problem.
Can I replace my own SRS unit without accidentally triggering my airbags? Where do I order it? How do I make sure it is the correct part? Is it easy? Or I have a separate problem?
The seat belt warning indicator is flashing continuously when I am driving with my seat belt fastened. When I pull outward, lengthening just the shoulder harness, the light stops flashing. Letting go of the shoulder strap starts the light flashing again. Is there a sensor near the floor where the shoulder strap take up roller winds and unwinds the strap?
View 7 RepliesSo it seems as if either the switch in the driver's side seat belt indicator is sticking (off, indicating my seat belt is NOT fastened even though it is), or it's broken. Although, it doesn't do this EVERY time I fasten my seat belt, it's doing it more frequently. I have to refasten it (multiple times) to get it to see it's fastened.

I just recently picked up 2015 IS350 and I'm not a big fan of being told what to do, especially my car telling me to put my seatbelt on. My 2011 ISF was supper easy. I have done some digging and all I have come up with is that the dealer has to do it.

First off: I am NOT condoning driving without a seatbelt. Merely asking a question.
In my gs430 I can go through a series of commands to disable the seat belt buzzer from beeping while i drive without a seat belt. I've browsed the forums and haven't seemed to find the same thing for the LS460.
Is it even possible it to disable it without having the dealer reprogram?
2007 Sante Fe Limited original owner. 87000 miles, great car. Having a problem with battery light coming on and then going off, also seat belt light off and on but no sound. The other night my ESC light came on for a while. New battery, alternator and serpentine belt installed a few months ago.

I drove from Boston to Florida and back (great long distace cruiser and this was with my wife and two kids!) without any problems. The low oil indicator came on the day after i returned from the trip (this past Sunday). After i checked the dipstick and started the engine the warning went away. Today i drove to a friends house (~10 miles) and when i went to leave the warning came back on.
Is it possile that there could there be a faulty sensor?

I just took possession a few weeks ago,and I love the car. I've only had one passenger, once in the car, and yesterday, I noticed that the passenger seat belt light is continually flashing when I'm driving. If I'm in park, it's off, but when in gear, that little red light flashes non stop.
Is this normal when there isn't a passenger? I don't remember this happening before, and, I'm sure I would have noticed that annoying little beacon.
If it's wrong, how do I fix it? If it's supposed to be there ... how to I fix it?
I replaced my battery yesterday because it died; today while driving the driver seat belt light and battery light came on at the same time. What might be causing this problem? I drive a 2007 Sonata Limited. It was the alternator.
View 26 RepliesFor the first time I noticed a little glowing light[s] in my drivers seat belt buckle [female end....actually 2 lights, one on each side of the female part where the male end inserts]. It glows for about 10 seconds when starting up. Probably useful for connecting seat belt in the dark. What it does at night under normal driving conditions.
I did not see the same light on the passengers' side. Don't know if there is not one or it only works when there is weight in the seat.
Esoteric little item....but just wondering if there should be the same light on the passenger side and , if so, where /how to troubleshoot? Would it be a bulb or built in to the buckle? I did not check rear seat....I will do that next...
When I purchased my new 2008 RX 350 I was able to turn off the seat belt chime using a hack. I recently purchased a 2015 RX 350 and have tried to do the same but have been unsuccessful. How to do this to the 2015 RX 350? Please note that the 2014 hack does not work on the 2015 model year.
View 4 RepliesOk, I been through 2 Lexus dealerships and they wont shut off the gosh darn seatbelt beeping noise this car is driving me crazy. I always wear my seatbelt but not when I hop into and drive out of my driveway.
My question is just like how BMW has there's is there a computer program where you buy a usb of some sort and plug it into your computer to shut it off yourself? It's those machines that let you check engine RPM's and what your car is doing and such.
Is there a way to disable the audible portion of the seat belt warning?
View 5 RepliesAnyways, I've put MAYBE 250 miles on my '08 GS460, and Ive noticed what appear to be wear marks from my jeans (just regular Diesel jeans). I didn't have this issue in my SC400, my girlfriend's Cayenne, or any of the other cars I drive on a regular basis. Is this common for these cars? Could the leather just be low quality? Having issue with seat belt buckle vibration, passenger side, when the vehicle speed is between 40-50 miles/hr ? It feels like an exhaust vibration transferred through the floor connection of the seat belt. How can I get rid of it ? The vibration feels like a cell phone set on vibrating and is very annoying for the passenger.
View 2 RepliesI've owned a 2014 Prius Four (not IV, Roman numerals were for model year 2010) w/o Nav for just about a year now. I've encounter this mysterious condition three times now where when I turn on my car, all I see on the front displays are the READY light on the far left and the mini-display that shows the shift pattern.
* Both the speedometer/fuel gauge display on the left of the shift pattern display and the "Hybrid status" display on the right of the shift postion display are OFF.
* The car operates normally (it's not in a limp-home mode).
When I first encountered this issue and reported it to my local dealer, they suggested I take a video of it with my smartphone. I did so the car (and a copy of the video) is now at the dealership.
The second and third times this issue came up, I took videos and did some additional testing.
- When these two displays are OFF, there is no backlight to the climate control LED display underneath the stereo...
- I normally drive the car with the headlamps in "AUTO" mode. When you shift the headlamp switch to "DRL off", the two missing displays automatically power on. In any other position (Auto, corner marker lamps only, or headlamps ON position) the two displays in question turn off.
- The issue isn't with me accidentally turning the dimmer switch too low. When the dimmer switch is set to max low and the dash light sensor is covered (emulating complete darkness outside), all three displays on the dash (including the shift position display) are barely visible/look off. As the service advisor saw in my video, that's not the case.
This is clearly a safety issue ("you cannot tell how fast you are going" and "you cannot tell easily how much gas you have left without going through the infotainment display) so for now the dealership at least seems to be on my side in that something needs to be repaired. The good news is that now that the issue has been documented in my service history, they did comment that it will get fixed eventually even if the issue comes back after test. For now, the dealership is stumped so they asked Toyota for guidance on what parts to try replacing.
