My 14 IS350F's front struts are leaking. I only have 11k miles on it. Taking it in tomorrow, but wondering why is it failing so soon.

View 13 RepliesOn the left side of the rear tail lights, only one back up light is lighting up when put on "R", the right side i noticed it is of a different bulb pattern. I then called my lexus salesperson to inquire on this and he is telling me its meant to be this way?
View 9 RepliesOwner of 2006 GS300 and then 2008 BMW 535i ... Finally 2014 GS350 FSport ... Next modification I will do is bypass the DVD in Navigation while driving and add 12 inch JL W6 and Kicker Amp ...
View 14 RepliesNoticed a slight whining, fluttering-like noise when accelerating? Faint but it has an annoying tone. Seems to come from driver side but not sure it can't be heard on passenger.
View 7 RepliesI just bought a 2015 GS350 FSport in December 2014 and noticed an oily film on both front windows. This happens whenever I wash my car and wipe it down. I tried to wipe it w/ glass cleaners and detail spray but doesn't come off. It almost seems to be between the dual plain glass.
View 11 RepliesI noticed my 2009 AWL Santa Fe (3.3L if it maters) had been 'bouncing' in the front end...so i brought it in to have it looked at.
The dealer here has advised me both front struts are leaking, and its still safe to drive.
This car bounces a lot, but on city roads, its not bad...On highway, you hit a little hump in the road, and it seems to bounce A LOT...for a bit of time, then settles. City driving isn't' that bad, its the highway that's freaky.
This coming weekend, I'm going camping, and tow 3500lbs with my Santa Fe, i have a weight distribution system/bars on the trailer to the vehicle. so it moves some of the weight to the front.
We have a 2005 Camry XLE, with 102,00 miles on it. It has been very well cared for, and only serviced by our Dealer. We would like to keep the vehicle for another 50,000 miles. We have had an assessment of the vehicle done by the Dealer, because our brakes were very soft.
He found a great deal of air in the lines and flushed them out. He also found:
1.) Leaks in the power steering rack, which he graded as a level 8 severity on a 10 point scale. Repair estimate is $1100 to replace and align.
2.) Both front struts are cracked and graded for severity as an 8 on a scale of 10.
What do you think:
A.) Are these safety issues ?
B.) What are the consequences of delay ?
C.) Are these problems indicative of other likely problems ?
D.) Is it better to have a Dealer perform the repairs ?
Knocking noise on car, mechanic says front struts needed (07 with 110k). Whats the cheapest place to order? He couldn't get them aftermarket. Also need the upper mounting plate?
View 10 RepliesJust bought a 2013 GS 350 FSport. Noticed the cooling fan runs kinda loud. Seems to run a little louder than prior cars. Had the car inspected at a Lexus dealer before purchase. They didn't say anything about it.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2009 XLE v6 with 82,000 miles. I have decided to replace the struts because they are leaking bad and beginning to see unusual tire wear (cupping). Based on what I have read, I have decided to use KYB struts. Should the springs be replaced at the same time?
View 2 Replieshow the chrome trim above the rear license plate is removed?
View 4 RepliesI was told I needed to replace the rear struts on my car since they had started leaking. How much does something like that run?
2007 Honda CRV 2 Wheel Drive
Have 63,000 miles on my 2011 Sante Fe. Took it in for maintenance at the dealer in Connecticut and the mechanic said the struts are leaking. I took a look at them and did notice that they have more of a sweat look on them. Dealer is quoting 750 to replace. Sounds high to me.
View 6 Repliesmy mechanic thinks there is a problem with the car's frame. Alignment testing showed the front right wheel sitting just behind the position of the left front wheel. He thinks he can fix it. Is that why the struts are leaking so quickly? or could there another reason?
View 8 RepliesThe other day my 2003 Subaru Forester was getting its oil changed and when it was done the mechanic informed me that my struts were leaking and needed to be replaced. He didn't seem to think it was urgent or anything. He mentioned something about roll overs and the wearing of the tires, but I'm not entirely sure what this means for the car. It has 140K on it, and I drive it a lot on the high way. I'm also planning to go on a trip in Mid July that's about a thousand mile drive. So, how soon should this be done? What do leaking struts mean for a car?
View 14 RepliesLast night, I replaced both front struts with Monroe complete sets (new springs, mounts, boots, struts, etc) and I had my front rotors smoothed out. That cleared up about 75% of the noises coming from the front of my car Except for one.
Whenever I'm braking, there is a noise coming from my front left wheel. It's not a brake squeal, but more like a creaking sounds that comes around with each rotation of the wheel. It slows down with the car, and I can make it last longer by doing a slow roll with the brakes one. So when I'm fast it sounds like "Crk! Crk! Crk!" When I'm going slow it's "Creeeeeak... Creeeeeeak... Creeeeeak..."
Last night, I also replaced the sway bar link on that side. The brakes are smooth and the tires were balanced a couple months ago (no steering wobbles at any speed)
This afternoon I saw that car was leaking some fluid by mid car. Next to the catalytic converters. At first I thought it might be oil since I just did an oil change 2 days ago. But after taking a closer look it wasn't from the oil pan. I just want to make sure the leak is from the A/C system and not something else.
View 6 RepliesIt was one of the most difficult battery swaps I've ever done...
I chose the Odyssey extreme battery. Purchased from Amazon.
The point of this post is that the OEM battery was leaking from one of the cells... Seems poorly made...
Perhaps this is why some owners are having dead battery issues...
Took my 2014 GX in for 5k miles service even though it has only 1K miles (bought it in Nov 13). The service write up person recommended oil change (10K service). I was cool with that because I still believe in first oil change in 1K miles when the car is new regardless of what car manufacturer says.
After 1 hr waiting, the shop manager told me that my GX needs to stay longer because they discovered a small leak in rear main seal. From what I read on the internet, it is a time consuming repair.
I don't drive the car much, 1k miles in 7 month. It is parked indoor most of the time. I do drive it 5-10 miles every 2-3 wks to cycle the car. I also use battery tender to keep the battery charged.
I was surprised that this happened. My friend's 2014 GX (he bought it because I told him Lexus is much more reliable than his LR3) had his back up camera replaced at 3K miles.
I noticed a pool of very clear oil on my garage floor. Looking under the truck I can see the lower control arm on the front drivers side covered in fresh oil. It looks like it's the shock absorber leaking. I just rolled over the 4,000 mile mark. I'm dreading taking it in to my nearby dealer. This is most likely a week long fix with how they operate. 2014 FX2...
