On the edge of the rear door and spots around the rear tire I have this clear film on the car. The one on the back door is triangle shape so I'm thinking this is not a mistake on my dealers part to remove it during delivery.

Weird thing yesterday, noticed a rotational tick sound coming from the right rear wheel during slow backing up with the windows down. Sounded like debris stuck between the dust shield and the rotor. Had that tinny sound. Anyway, no dealer around in the town I was at. Closest is over two hours away and not in the direction of home which was four hours away.
I was visiting friends, and decided to jack the truck up and pull the wheel off and clear whatever debris was stuck in there. Pulled the wheel and didn't see anything. Rotated the hub and could still hear the noise. I pulled the caliper next and made sure nothing was in there. There wasn't. Ok, must be in behind the disc in the parking brake shoe area and making contact with the dust shield. I pulled the caliper mount and then the rotor. Still didn't see any debris or anything foreign. What I did see was a bunch of metal filings on the inner side of the brake shoes all around the backing plate. Also a fair amount of metal filings in the drum portion of the rotor.
Rotated the hub again, and noticed the noise coming from the retaining pin cap on the rear most shoe. It was rubbing against the backside of the hub. As the hub rotated the cap spun and made noise as the spring gave way and turned. This made sense for the noise and the metal filings. The cap was still in place and the pin was not being touched yet by the back of the hub. I reassembled it all and decided the further drive home was not going cause more harm than what was already done.
Dropped off at my local dealer this morning and explained the above. The technician confirmed it as well, and ordered the a new retaining pin. Some how it got out of tolerance and caused itself to be longer than it should have. The tolerance appeared close from the front side shoe that was not rubbing.
I was driving today enjoying the weather and a hit a few rough patches on the road. Nothing unusual. However I hit a bump and my Radio, GPS, and AC controls are now completely dead. I didn't hear the fuse blow and it seems strange that the radio and GPS would altogether go out. Only the Security light and Airbag light work. Nothing else.
View 1 RepliesI got our car back from the dealer for catalytic C. Replacement and the pressure tire light was on. Check tire pressure in the morning and went up to 40psi to see if they reset. No luck.
Lower back to normal after three weeks all tires including spare are at 33psi. Also, the clear coat on my wheels is peeling off.2006 2.0T 85K Miles.
I have a ingot silver 2011 F150.....I've seen some posts that say not to use silicone wax on vehicles with clearcoat (I assume this is the candy red and premium white?). Any opinions on what is compatible with my silver?

View 14 RepliesI have a Prius Gen III model 4 and was wondering how I can clear the call history on the radio screen. I'm one of those people who regularly clears the call history on the phone, but there seems to be no option to do it on my Prius screen. I'm just using a Motorola flip phone that connects via blu-tooth and not a smart phone. I've read online that there is a delete call history area, but so far I haven't been able to locate that. Could be the system in my car doesn't have that?

View 6 RepliesSo, last night my effort to save my car failed, as i hit the curb at 80 kph trying to save it from a SUV driver who was about to hit me from the side. Although it was nothing major, just a scrape. I stopped at a fuel pump immediately to check my car, there was no damage just scratches on the rim, so i drove back home and there was no problem. However, today morning i started my baby up and as i drove it's shaking so bad. it's the wheel vibrating the whole car. the steering wheel is wobbling. What could be the problem over here?
View 12 RepliesMy MY2012 Passat 2.5 SE currently at 37k miles all of a sudden is showing clear coat peeling near the trunk/rear panel area. Car is a CPO and clean carfax (no accidents) and currently still under warranty. Planning on taking it back to the dealership and hopefully start a case for warranty work under VWoA.
I've never encountered clearcoat failure this early on, case in point my B5 (MY1999) still has excellent clear coat uniformity despite the paint/body being 17+ years old.
I started to experience steering wheel vibrating while at a stop light/sign? My IS used to be very silent and smooth when I am at stop (while in gear). But now I am noticing vibrations while I am waiting at a red light. It's not from the music because I turned off the radio to see if my music was too loud. why this could happen?

View 11 RepliesI have a 250 f-sport model, it's only around 1.2k miles, and I recently noticed a 'clicking' noise while making some turns. Would it have anything to do with the weather? I have been experiencing colder/rainy weather compared to the warm weather I was driving in when I first got the car... Weird 'click' noise? I feel like it's coming from the steering wheel column.... or am I just being paranoid?

View 4 RepliesSo, last week, I heard this high pitched squeal coming from the wheel well. At low speeds it seemed. It was in a parking garage.
But then, it disappeared. All of a sudden, I'm reversing into a spot barely touching the brake and it's squealing again.
I then take it again for a spin around the garage, no sound. I reverse again, no sound.
A few days later, I'm pulling out of the garage and the sound is so loud my GF could hear it from within another car behind me. It squeals until I start going faster and I'm on the highway. I get to my destination, ask my friend who is good with cars to check it out. But of course, I couldn't recreate the sound. Tried going slow, backing up, braking, going faster, etc.
So, do you know of a sound that would be very loud one day and completely go away the next? I saw some things about a shim or clip on the brake pad possibly touching the rotor or is loose?
The leather on my steering wheel was peeling off and I brought it up to the dealer and out of their goodwill, they decided to replace it with a completely new one. Props to the dealer. However this is where all the problems start to occur. I drop off the car This past Sunday and pick up a loaner. I get a call the next day saying my car is ready. So I get there and everything seems good.
There's an open road that I like to take home but this is where I noticed something weird. When my steering wheel was level, the car was veering right.. I had to tilt the steering wheel a little left to go straight . I call the dealership right away and they tell me to bring it back. So I do that and pick up another loaner.
Following day , I go back to the dealership and they tell me they fixed the alignment. Now everything is good! I was yet again wrong. When I got home, I noticed my steering wheel was weird.
So taking the car back tomorrow to get this fixed! Still props to the dealer for giving me a brand new steering wheel..
The other week, I encountered a creaking or rattling noise coming from my speedometer/steering wheel area. I didn't do anything do the area and don't drive my car hard. Since then, it has gone away.
