I had my 350 for about 5-6 months? Started two months ago when the brakes started to squeal coming down from my driveway and sometimes when I release the brake at a light. First I thought it was because of the cold but it started to get warmer and the problem is still here.
View 5 RepliesMy brakes started to squeal LOUD when I come to a turning stop. Although I don't hear it when I'm stopping going straight, it just makes a high pitch noise when I'm turning into a stop. Last time I went to the dealer, they blamed it on the brake dust... I only drove 300 miles since the last car wash.. it can't it the reason.
View 24 RepliesMy '07 GS350 recently began exhibiting brake squeal when brakes were gently applied. I subsequently took it to my dealer for a multipoint inspection, with the results being the car was fine, including the brakes. I was told the squeak was the result of brake dust, and nothing to worry about.
Since the inspection, I noticed the right front wheel is accumulating brake dust, but none of the others are; and the noise is irritating. I called my SA yesterday and explained the situation. He reviewed the car's service history, and noted the front pads were replaced with noiseless/dustless pads 40k miles ago. I agreed. He again said it was nothing to worry about. My thoughts are I'll have to put new pads on the front, even though the current ones are fine.
I have a 2009 XLT 4x4 and it has a faint squeal sound coming from somewhere. I can only hear it with the window open driving between 20 to 50 Kph after that road noise is too loud. First thing in the morning it is not there seems you need to drive for 10 to 20 Km before it starts.
Turning right it gets louder left it seems to go away. Braking has no effect on the sound.
I have warmed it up in the morning and it still takes the same distance to squeal. Had it in the dealer and they changed out a front wheel bearing but that did not fix the problem. Had them service the brakes to rule that out too.
Noticed lately that pulling into my driveway... the rear suspension creaks a little when it comes from the road into the start of the driveway..the driveway is a little higher than the road and i hear a creak sound. also noticed that coming to a sudden stop at low speed and the weight of the car shifts to the front the rear suspension also creaks a little. is this normal and just me being overly picky because its a lexus? or is there a possible issue... also the days this happened it was pretty cold here so don't know if its a factor but never heard it before...

View 6 RepliesWhenever I am in a parking lot turning into parking spaces or driving slowly around or even turning into my driveway I have a deep creaking type sound that sounds awful. It's either the suspension going south, something with one of the strut bars or the bigger diameter mid pipe making contact with something when the car is turning. Car is noise free otherwise even over soles bumps, just happens to sound nasty when making turn ins going 2-5 mph.
View 7 Replies2011 F-350 XL, I can hear a squeal coming from the front brakes when rolling forward slowly, believe the pads are dragging on the rotors. If I touch the brake pedal the squeal stops as it does when I turn the wheel. Took the calipers off and greased the slide pins and put it all back together, still got the squeal. What don't I know???
View 9 RepliesSo, last week, I heard this high pitched squeal coming from the wheel well. At low speeds it seemed. It was in a parking garage.
But then, it disappeared. All of a sudden, I'm reversing into a spot barely touching the brake and it's squealing again.
I then take it again for a spin around the garage, no sound. I reverse again, no sound.
A few days later, I'm pulling out of the garage and the sound is so loud my GF could hear it from within another car behind me. It squeals until I start going faster and I'm on the highway. I get to my destination, ask my friend who is good with cars to check it out. But of course, I couldn't recreate the sound. Tried going slow, backing up, braking, going faster, etc.
So, do you know of a sound that would be very loud one day and completely go away the next? I saw some things about a shim or clip on the brake pad possibly touching the rotor or is loose?
So I purchased my 2015 Lexus IS 350 AWD F-Sport back in October and experienced the following issues:
1. Brake squeal
- seems to occur when reversing out of a parking spot for example, so annoying and extremely loud, makes it sound like my brakes need changing
2. Bluetooth Radio
- there are times where my phone connects to the radio, plays music off my iPhone but then it sounds like the singer is slowly dying i.e.: the type of sound you used to hear when a walkman's batteries would be dying and needed changing. Happens sporadically
3. Gas tank lid on side of car won't close fully
- this happened just this week. I couldn't close my gas lid, no matter what I did. I managed to get it closed today after starting my car, wonder if its related at all to power/engine being on etc?
4. Buzzing in gas pedal resonates through foot
- this one is still driving me insane. Drive my car for 10-15 minutes on the highway and your foot feels like pins/needles from the buzzing sensation from the gas pedal.
I recently had new front oem rotors and pads installed on my 13 GS F Sport rwd and after a few hours of driving the loud squeal coming from the front was very embarrassing. I'm ready to pull whatever hairs on my head I have left. When I'm coming to a stop I hear it. If I'm braking lightly I hear it. If I reverse I hear it. I had the same problem prior to replacing the rotors and pads and felt that it was being caused by not having my rotors resurfaced prior to installing the last set of pads. Now, I have new everything and I have the same problem. I've already spent so much on the front brakes and I can't stand having an expensive car that sounds like a cheap car.

View 9 RepliesJust turned 17K miles on the truck in my sig, it's a 2wd SuperCab I use for work since day one. I admit this truck get worked hard daily, I do a lot of stopping in hilly terrain. I always have 400-800 lbs of tools and gear in the box. But are the brakes really showing signs of wear already?
Just started about a week ago, when I slow to a stop at low speed, example parking lot, drive-through etc... I get a screech. The brake feel is still smooth and not grinding so I'm snowed. A previous truck 2008 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab 4x4 worked as equally hard from day one of its life went 40k miles on OE pads/ rotors, I'm hoping my 1/2 ton F-150 can best that at the very least. Had an '05 Cummins Diesel worked probably harder that went more than 80k without so much as a peep from the pads.
I have a 2011 CC 4x4 ECOBOOST F150. I have 45,000 miles on it and the front brakes started squealing.
View 10 RepliesI readied my Prius and was backing out my driveway. The ICE started and was misfiring very badly, sounded like it was barely running, making all kinds of clatter.
I stopped, put the car in park, and the idle was very rough, sounded like it was trying to clear itself from being flooded. There were no warning lights or blinking check engine lights, so I drove off.
Heres where things get freaky. If I accelerated any more than 1/4 of the gas pedal, the car would buck and the ICE would shut off completely. Then when I let go of the gas, the ICE would start back up. If i feathered the gas lightly, the ICE would stay running. After the car warmed up, this behavior disappeared.
Have a 2006 xb- great car! Have only one problem so far. The brakes squeak while reversing out of my driveway in the morning.
View 30 RepliesI have a 1998 Lincoln Town Car with about 350,000 miles on it. This morning I sensed a slightly rough idle when I started it up and let it sit in the driveway. While idling I plugged in a scan tool and after a few minutes it showed a P0306, a misfire in cylinder 6. I know there could be a few causes of this but my past experience has been a bad ignition coil (this car has the coils on each plug).
Over the years I've had 3 coils go bad, all giving the same rough idle symptom and P030x, where x was the cylinder number. Replacing the coils solved the problem each time.
So this morning I assumed it would probably be the same. On my way to the auto parts store (4 miles), I monitored the computer, it kept throwing a P0306 (cylinder 6) and I kept clearing the code. About 2 blocks from the store, the car seemed to be running a bit rougher. When I pulled into the lot, I got a P0307 code (and no P0306). Hmm. Well, I bought a new coil and replaced coil 6. I then sat in the lot and idled it and after a few minutes it threw the P0307 again. I cleared it a few times and it came back.
I assumed there was about 0 chance that a second coil could go out within minutes of another (assumption from a car tinkerer, not a professional), so rather than buying another coil, I drove it home to do some further testing. On the way home, it kept throwing the P0307 and nothing about P0306.
So at home, I swapped coil 7 and 5, idled it for a few minutes, and, sure enough, it threw a P0305 (the problem had moved to cylinder 5, following the coil). This indicates to me that I had 2 bad coils?!?
So my question is whether it's possible, or even common, to lose two coils at virtually the same time. I should also point out that before today I did not notice rough idling and there were no computer codes set. I also thought maybe it's possibly a problem developing with an ignition module (but I'm not sure if my car even has one).
Anyway, it was late and I have not replaced the second coil. I did do a couple other tests. I measured the resistance on the primary of the new coil, as well as 5, 6, and 7 coils. They were all close to 0 ohms. The resistance of the secondary ranged between 5k and 8k depending on the coil. Out of curiosity, I also did a final swap of the original coil 6 with the "faulty" coil 7 now in 5 (follow me?) and it still throws a P0305, indicating both the old 6 and old 7 coils are, indeed bad. Another note is that both "bad" coils are about the same age (maybe 150k-200k miles on each), so they're not newer ones.
Does this all make sense? Should I go ahead and replace the other coil and see what happens, or should I check something else?
I have a Jetta Mk IV, yesterday I went to go drive it and just as I pulled out of the driveway it started running rough, so I pulled back in the driveway and the coolant temperature sensor light came on, then the check engine light. and then it died. Then today I tried starting it, and it will only start and run if I have the gas pedal all the way to the floor, and it runs really rough. Then it will die. I thought maybe the coolant temp sensor since the light came on. I replaced that, and it still does it. I'm leaning towards a head gasket.

View 14 RepliesFrom everything I have read I can't seem to figure out exactly what the fix is for what feels like brakes sticking after coming to a full stop, then accelerating? I will describe as a clunking and kicking feel, as if power to the rear end is being delayed then kicking in.
From all the posts and replies it seems like a differential issue. Exactly what the issue is and the correct fix? 2012 purchased used with less than 5K miles in 2013, problem has slowly been getting worse over time.
I have a 2014 IS350 F Sport, I'm at 26k miles. My brakes are squealing and scrapping. Is it time to get new brakes already? How hard is it to do on this car? I've changed brakes on other cars!
