I have a 2010 Gx460. The rear door has now become locked shut and will not unlock. When I hit the unlock button on the door all I get is flashers with a few beeps. What can I do?
View 1 RepliesOn my 2010 prius, I recently had my windows tinted. Seems I have lost the single beep when locking the doors. I still get two beeps when unlocking. I also get the double lock when I put the car in gear. But I am having no issues with any of the door locks sticking. smart key isn't working as it was. When I walk up the the drivers door, the inside light would illuminate, that does not happen now.

1. Is there anyway to disable that annoying honk when you lock the doors w/o a vag-com? I've searched but didn't find anything.
2. Need to know if the Golf R has the same suspension as this car? Obviously spring rates and specs might be different but I may get airbags for my current car and would like to take off the bags and put them on the R if I pick one up.
If you open your door just before you turn off the car, it dings until you shut the door. Why?
It doesn't make sense. Its in Park, the steering wheel moves forward, yet it beeps continuously if the door is open before you hit off like you left lights on or something.
So, I noticed this morning that when i locked my Elantra from the key FOB there was no beep. There's a beep when I push unlock. Now, even those there is no beep the car does in fact lock. However, I SWEAR it has beeped when I clicked the lock button up until now. Is there something I may have done to cause it to stop beeping when locking?
View 44 RepliesMiss the horn beep on my Murano when I locked or unlocked the RX doors. The RX blinks it's lights and I guess there is a dash beep (which I can't hear). I read and read and read the manual but can't find where I can customize to get a horn beep.

Over the past few weeks I have taken the car to the car wash at night to get the salt off, the next morning when I get in and start the car put the car in drive the rear wheels are locked up, It appears the froze over night due to the extreme cold we have been having. I rock the car back and forth and eventually they release with a loud pop. I actually have a 10ft tire mark in my driveway. I have been told this is common on Toyotas. The car only has 10,000 miles on it and it only happens after being washed and sitting over night in very cold temps.
View 6 RepliesMy car today suddenly will not "beep", nor will the lights flash, when I double-click to lock with the smart key. The smart key itself is fine, as it locks and unlocks properly. I know many people find the beep a nuisance, but I like it.
I just had my windshield replaced two days ago. Could this be the cause? Is it something I can fix myself, or will I need to take it into the shop? I'm hoping I can just quickly re-connect something that became unconnected during windshield replacement.
I've gone thru the owners manual that shows the options I can preset via the display audio (don't have nav) and I don't see where it is possible to turn off the beep when the rear hatch is opened/closed. Is this possible?
View 5 RepliesHaving issues with the rear tailgate door unlocking. Seems like mine on occasion is only making a noise but not unlocking completely and showing the door ajar light with the beep. When it happens, its a pain to get it to stop and close completely, or even open. I have to push hard on the door to get it to stop.

I'm pretty sure this is new behavior the past week or so. Whenever I open the door, whether finishing a drive or entering the car from outside, the car beeps once as if it is trying to get my attention for something. This happens when the car is off (I always press the power button before opening the door)
I do not see any warning lights or anything obviously wrong; what is the significance of this beep?
I try to open the rear door and it stay all time close. All others doors working well but not the rear one. I try to open it with the emergency opening behind the light but not working also.... What I could try ?

View 1 RepliesWe have a 2005 Avalon. The rear passenger door appeared to "stick occasionally, trouble opening or closing. Now the door is closed and we cannot open it. It seems like it is locked. Since it is not open, it appears that access to the door interior is very difficult.

I have a 2007 santa fe and my rear passenger door is locked shut and i cant remove the door card to gain access to the lock ! i have tried the key fob and all the other doors lock and unlock fine !
The lock lever inside the car for the offending rear door flickers when you try and unlock the door with the fob but that is all .
My RX 350 is 5 months old, 8000 miles. It has developed very annoying rattling noises under the rear seat and, sometimes, rear door panels.
View 1 RepliesOur 2010 base model GX 460 was 'born' in November 2009 and purchased new in February 2010, but we never used the 120 VAC power outlet at the back of the cargo compartment by the rear door hinge. I was cleaning and swapping 'summer' floor mats for 'winter' mats and decided to see if the outlet works. The appended pictures prove it does produce 120 VAC .... actually, almost 124 VAC, but I have no way to test if it can supply 100 Watts, much less the waveform shape. Perhaps it could light a 100 Watt incandescent bulb, but nothing sensitive to supply line glitches!
View 2 RepliesI just bought a 2010 RX450h and it is in overall great condition. The leather is damage though on the Rear Driver side door panel, so I am trying to remove it and get it repaired. I have removed 3 screws :
-one behind the door open/close latch
-one under the wood/window switch
-one in the handle area to pull door and close
I am now trying to take the panel off and have the bottom part pulled off. But I can't seem to pry open the top part... Am I missing something or a screw? Is there some trick? I am scared to break it.
My 2010 RX350 (~30k miles) recently has been making a squeaking noise when I close my rear lift gate. Sounds like the squeaking is coming from the left side "Rear Door Hatch Support" ..i believe that is what it is called. Is this something I can WD-40 and lube? Car is under warranty..

Now I realize I can disable the electronic lift, but it's a shame not to be able to use this feature. I'm sure others have had this problem, but I've googled with no success.
