When we start the car, it goes to the Nav screen and the screen freezes up. We cannot do anything on the touch screen or even stop / start the radio using the button. We have to stop the engine and restart it to work normally. This happened a couple of times in the last two days. We have a Black / Black 2014 GX that we picked up last month.
View 4 RepliesI've had my 2015 GX 460 since April 18th. Since I've had it the navigation screen has frozen on me 5 times with 830 miles on it.
Every time it froze on me all the center console buttons will not work. The Audio, Nav, Climate & Home button's DO NOT WORK! Also the buttons on the steering wheels won't work as well. The only time I can get the navigation to unfreeze is by shutting off the car.
The 5th time it froze I held down the "Power/Vol" button down and the navigation screen turn black and restarted itself while the vehicle was in motion.
According to the navigation manual (attached), the navigation screen should go to the home screen within 5 seconds. But my IS never goes to the home screen without pressing the home button, but it always shows the full screen map. I tried many different things including "Auto Screen Change" setting but nothing seems to work.

At each car startup, after the navigation loads, it eventually settles on the map screen. Would prefer my personally adjusted home screen (the home button nearby the mouse) to just automatically appear on starting the vehicle. Is there a way to do this?
View 4 RepliesThe car is about a week old. Today, the NAV system (ML version), re-started a few times and then shut completely off. Re-starting the car does not work. Got a totally "off" screen and no sound. 2014 350?
Is there some way to reset it or turn it back on? I can't imagine that a brand new Lexus would have this sort of issue.
I got my car today and am a little annoyed. When the car is started the navigation turns on and displays my Dealerships Name and Picture. Is there any way to get this removed and do I have to go back to have them take this off?

View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 Non-F Sport Model with Navigation and was wondering if there was a secret on HOW To TURN OFF the Navigation? Not the whole screen, just the Navigation part. I see how to turn off the screen but I want to just see my Radio/SAT menu on the screen as I do not use Navigation that often. Right now Navigation is always on and takes up 3/4 of the screen!
also... is is safe to drive in any of the 3 modes (eco, normal, sport) ALL the time in all conditions ? As in using Eco for driving all the time (city and highway), or is one better than the other for certain conditions.
2014 gx 460 ... Installed micro sd card and navigation will not turn on ... The GX is brand new. Not sure what to do. The card works in another new gx on lot.
View 1 RepliesI've had my ISF for almost a year now but I'm just now noticing that the navigation screen on my 08 does not darken the colors when the headlights come on. The map still shows up bright white and can be distracting.
Is there a setting I am missing somewhere to change this to black with orange accents instead when the headlight low beams are on, or is it just supposed to be white on the map view all the time? My wife has a 2014 ES and it does this automatically. Come to think of it, every other car I've had that had navigation did this automatically. I tried searching but couldn't find any threads on this already.
I was heading to the gym tonight and noticed that when I had my headlights on the nav screen stays white and does not go into the dark mode it is supposed to with the headlight on. I pressed the display button and there was no indication that there was an option to go back and fourth between day and night mode as usual . Only the option to adjust brightness and contrast. I do have the option to turn off the screen but this is annoying.
View 6 RepliesI recently purchased a 2011 hyundai elantra and i bought a aftermarket navigation. I connected everything how it should be (i think) and the navigation screen would not turn on but the buttons work and volume and everything else but the screen wouldnt turn on. I took it to a mechanic and he told me it was this strip that was burned. But it was working before he messed with it now the radio doesn't sound. Nothing works. Im trying to find the name of this part so i can buy a replacement.
View 3 RepliesTook my 2014 GX in for 5k miles service even though it has only 1K miles (bought it in Nov 13). The service write up person recommended oil change (10K service). I was cool with that because I still believe in first oil change in 1K miles when the car is new regardless of what car manufacturer says.
After 1 hr waiting, the shop manager told me that my GX needs to stay longer because they discovered a small leak in rear main seal. From what I read on the internet, it is a time consuming repair.
I don't drive the car much, 1k miles in 7 month. It is parked indoor most of the time. I do drive it 5-10 miles every 2-3 wks to cycle the car. I also use battery tender to keep the battery charged.
I was surprised that this happened. My friend's 2014 GX (he bought it because I told him Lexus is much more reliable than his LR3) had his back up camera replaced at 3K miles.
So, I had heard this was happening frequently and now my navigation screen has stopped responding to touch inputs.
It looks like my Lexus platinum extended warranty has paid it's self off!
For those that have had the entire central control module replaced by Lexus with (I assume a refurbished/manufactured) one, have they held up? Are the repaired units anymore robust than the originals?
My car is an 2008, has the weak connections to the touch screen been addressed in the later vehicle builds?
2014 RX 350 - 8700 miles - Rear Main Seal Leak
Very disappointed that my new RX with only 8700 miles and has never even had an oil change now has a rear main seal leak. The dealership says that the gasket was defective and that there is no other visible damage. The dealership has filed a case with Lexus corporate.
Granted that it will soon be fixed at no cost to me, it's still very disappointing that a brand I hold so high for quality has let me down in such a big way.
In sunlight my Nav screen is unreadably dim. Is this normal? I just got this 2005 GX, my first, this month and have not had the chance to compare it to others.
