I purchased a new 2015 last month and have less than 700 miles on it. Thus far I love the vehicle. However, last night, I had just left my driveway and was proceeding at about 30 mph when I was forced to brake suddenly but not enough to come to a complete stop. The engine shut off, so I put the vehicle in park and restarted.
View 8 Repliesput new master cylinder and bled brakes in 1978 jeep cj5 and now fluid is being forced out the rear brake reservoir in the master cylinder, if lid is off there is about a 1inch fountain of fluid that shoots up.
View 7 RepliesI was going 65-70MPH on the highway and the engine suddenly shut down. I pulled over on the shoulder and tried to restart but the engine would start for a second then dies again. I tried several times but it would not start. Waited 10 min and tried again with no luck. I called a towing service and a friend to pick me up. The towing guy called me 40 min later and said the car starts fine. I have driven it for couple days since and tried to recreate the problem (warming the engine, accelerating hard to 5000 RPM, stop and go situation) but the car runs great. No problem whatsoever with power or jittering or unstable idle or starting the car.I talked to 2 mechanics and they both think it is the fuel pump failing. But I am not convinced since I could smell gasoline when I was trying to start it.I have no check engine light on and I checked for recorded codes with my BT OBDII tool – nothing.
Do you think it might be CPS? Wouldn’t I get check engine light on if it is CPS?
I was sitting at the light waiting for it to turn green and all of a sudden the engine shut of with all of the check engine lights come on, it stop fast and hard like someone just turned the ignition off. What can cause this? I turned the key to the off position and it started right up agin and has been no problem all week, but I am worried about driving it right now.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2005 f-150 street boss with 79000 mile, and it is shooting off going down the road, and the check engine light is flashing. The first time I started it back up and it would idle fine, but the throttle wouldn't do any thing. After setting about 15 min. I started it up and it ran good. I checked the codes and it had a p2104 Throttle actuator control system forced idle. It happened again with my wife. This time when I checked the codes it had the p2104 and a p2112 throttle actuator control system stuck closed code. What could be the problem, or a troubleshooting guide I could use to try and diagnose it.
View 6 RepliesI just purchased an l/certified 2013 RX 350 (34K miles) this past weekend. I did not notice these issues on my test drive. I've started to notice that when taking my foot off the gas pedal (while not resting near the break pedal) the vehicle goes through a series of easy coasts and then some resistance (as if using an engine as break on a truck with a manual t,) then returning to a smooth easy coast.
I've also noticed that when accelerating at a slow speed from stop (I'm in traffic) there is a bit of a hesitation, like turbo lag, yet this has no turbo. The lag seems to be there even if I want to accelerate aggressively.
I hate to get tied up with a dealer service department already.... "Cant duplicate," or "that is normal operation," or "Computer codes check out." Looking for reinforcing information so I don't have to take it in once a month for an unknown amount of time.
Of our three other cars (2015 Prius, 2002 Nissan Altima, and (pre-tran fail) 2002 honda odyssey) none experience anything like this.
Our household is dumping a 2002 honda odyssey for repeated transmission failures never covered with goodwill. All service was at a h dealership and manufacturer schedule was followed. I'm already sensitive to the manufacturer/dealer relationship.
What is this metal on metal noise...you hear it the best around the 7-12 second mark...it is especially loud on cold start in the morning when you put the car in "drive" but don't move the car forward. It also is prevalent on hot days when you park the car outside and just start the car. The sound gets louder when you turn on the a/c during the hot day.

I was changing the interior lights for my wife's 2010 RX350 and suddenly all the lights went out on me at the same time. Did the fuse in the box went out on me? I just did the same for my Isf and everything went well....
View 2 RepliesI recently came across a problem that is not a big deal but enough to irritate me. When I engage the parking brake it will shut the radio off. I cant see to see how the two systems are related to one another. I don't have the brake light lit on my dash indicating anything is wrong with my brakes. I have tried to reset the navigation system a few number of times but the problem is still there.
View 2 RepliesI heard noises like a small pump noise and a hissing air sound above the muffler area. The car had been sitting for hours and no key fob close to it. I was climbing under it looking at something else when I heard it. Sounds like a tiny electric motor running with an air hiss. Passenger side. Just bought the vehicle last week. It has 27k miles on it. Had to replace battery the other day. Said battery was replaced a year ago. Wonder if this is hurting the battery? Start great in the morning. Vapor fuel pump?
View 4 RepliesWe were driving 2015 450h with 2200 miles on a slight downhill grade about 50 mph. Suddenly ABS warning light, master warning light, and audible warning activated. The center console "Brake" illuminated and the information center displayed "check hybrid system".
My wife attempted to pull the car off the road in a controlled manner but even slightly touching the brakes caused them to pulse, braking hard and then releasing. She finally got the car to the side of the road and shut the engine off. I then got into the drivers seat and turned the car on. The messages remained. Tried on an off, still the same. Tried brakes, the seemed functional. Since we were in a location that did not have cell service and it was an unsafe location to leave the car managed to drive it into nearest town.
Turned the car on and off about 10 times over the period of an hour. Without explanation, the car started with no warning messages. Dove the car another 200 miles since and it has now been at he dealer for over a day with no word.
I did see where a few RX350 models had reported a similar problem, but no 450h's. At the time of the incident we were not using the PCS system (off) . I am wondering about that as well since the ABS might be tied into the PCS?
My 14 gx automatic relock function suddenly stopped working... I did not change the setting of this function and it was working very well last days so that when i get out from the car with my electronic key in my pocket, then the car automatically relocks after 30 second, but since yesterday no more this function is working... I thought the battery of the electronic key is low, i changed it but nothing happened.
View 14 RepliesChecking my garage before going to bed last night and hear motorized humming coming from rear of the GX. I slide underneath and it seems to be coming from the spare tire area. I started the engine, then shut it off and the noise went away. The noise reminded me of the air suspension pump on my old Denali, but my Gx has the standard suspension.

View 4 RepliesWhile driving to work this morning driving about 25 MPH and increasing speed gradually in traffic the lane I was traveling came to a sudden stop, I slammed on the brakes, ABS took over and I steered around the stopped lane of traffic with no issue. Here comes the problem, I never stopped rolling and traffic was coming up behind me in the lane that I just went in to and I stepped on the gas pedal and got nothing, truck was running, no lights or warnings just a dead gas pedal. This only lasted maybe 5 seconds and then it went but it was totally dead no matter how hard I stepped on the gas and vehicles were beeping at me from behind me. It finally went (5 seconds seems awful long when cars are approaching fast from behind) and it drove fine from there on. I guess I plan on trying to recreate this issue but thought maybe there is something with these trucks that caused this that I don't know about?
View 2 RepliesOk, I been through 2 Lexus dealerships and they wont shut off the gosh darn seatbelt beeping noise this car is driving me crazy. I always wear my seatbelt but not when I hop into and drive out of my driveway.
My question is just like how BMW has there's is there a computer program where you buy a usb of some sort and plug it into your computer to shut it off yourself? It's those machines that let you check engine RPM's and what your car is doing and such.
Today, on the way to the Lego User Meeting in Virginia driving at 65 mph in the morning on 495 - the oil change access door of my 2010 Prius III engine cover/ splash shield ( part 51410-12101) popped off - it made a popping noise when it broke. Couldn't stop because I was in the middle of a superhighway. It was half way off when I got to the meeting in VA. The Prius is so low - the shield was impossible to reach without a lift. On my way back home to Maryland, the oil change access door fell off completely albeit I didn't see or hear it fall off. My 3 year warranty is up and I have +38000 miles on the odometer so I'm pass the TSB 0032-11 coverage now. I've raised my car on Monday _ nothing else is damage - san a missing oil change access door.
View 19 RepliesI'm a new Lexus owner and bought a new 2013 ES300h a month ago. I've noticing that when I start the car everyday, it shakes a little bit (along the body direction) when the engine suddenly starts. You could hear the engine sound clearly as well.
View 9 RepliesRecently, after exiting the freeway, may car ( lexus 1995 SC400) suddenly stalls. After a moment of panic, i placed the emergency blinkers on,. coasted to a stop, and re started the engine. It started right away and I continued driving home. The engine sounded perfectly fine, no hesitation, no roughness. After a few days it happened again....again after exiting the freeway and slowing down for city traffic. The Garage that serviced my car for many years has checked the electrical system, replaced the spark plug wire set, cleaned " throttle body". These seemed to fix the problem. The car was fine for 6 months and then it happened again last week.
View 8 RepliesIf I put the Prius in park while I get out and mail a letter, engine temp is 190, I can get back in and drive off on electric, zero rpm's. However, if I push the start/stop button, mail the letter, and restart the engine (temp is still 190), I cannot get the engine to spool down. It keeps running for a few minutes.
View 4 RepliesI have a 95 Lexus SC300. When I start the car and later when the engine gets hot, it just shuts down.I don't know what's wrong with it. I changed the spark plugs and the coil. I'm guessing it is the sensor, but I don't know if it's that problem.
