To all 2014 and 2015 GX 460 owners, does brake pedal have a slight modulation or vibration while press it. Feels like ABS but not as strong pumping action.
When I step on the brakes the first time feels normal and then I let go of the brakes, then I press it the second time that is when I feel a slight modulation or vibration of the brake pedal.
My wife called and said her ES350 couldn't start. I told her to wait 5 minutes and tried again. It still wouldn't start.
So I went there and tried to start the car. My first try did not work either. I noticed that the brake pedal couldn't be pressed down. It was quite stiff. So I pressed hard on the brake pedal and tried again. This time it started. It has been working fine since then.
I have a 2011 RX350 and like car for the most part. Something strange I have noticed is that the gas pedal seams to have some little vibration when I am pressing it smoothly. My foot is constant on the gas pedal maybe 1/4 of the way down and it doesn't feel smooth like other vehicles. I have a 2014 lex IS250 and it doesn't have that vibration. Also had a 2004 RX330 and it did not have that vibration. It is a slight vibration that ruins the luxury driving experience.
View 4 RepliesWe purchased the vehicle (2013 GX460) in September 2012, and had the car for 6 weeks before my wife was hit by an oncoming car who missed a stop sign. 8 weeks later and 23k of repairable damage to driver fender, front bumper, grille, hood, frame, and all components within those major areas, we received our vehicle.
The vehicle is wonderful and a joy to drive. When the brake pedal is depressed at low speeds (i.e., maneuvering in parking lot, entering driveway), there is a slight vibration to the pedal (similar to the vibration from a cell phone) and a noise that suggests an electric motor is working. The vibration is not like ABS; ABS is a profound vibration. The vibration we experience is very slight. The vibration is not apparent at highway speeds.
I do not recall either the vibration or the noise prior to the accident, and I suspect that this is a result from the accident or from the repairs. I have already brought the GX back to the dealer for this problem and they were quick to dismiss it, but I am really concerned that this is a real problem, and I want the dealer to re-assess.
I have 2013 Elantra ( 20,000 miles) and when I put the brake lights on without the headlights on everything works ok but when the headlights are on the driver's side brake light does not come on when the brake pedal is pressed. I thought it was a bulb problem so I replaced it but I am still having the same issue. What is going on? I know it is still under warranty but I figured I could handle a burnt bulb issue but that was not it. I noticed that the drivers side bulb is not as bright either when brake is pressed without headlights
View 11 RepliesRequiring that the brake pedal be depressed in order to start the engine can be a nuisance, say if the driver is out of the vehicle and the passenger wants to start the engine to run the A/C, etc.
There is a workaround though. Press the engine start switch once to go into ACC mode, then press and hold it for 15 seconds and the engine will start without the brake pedal having to be pressed.
We have a new 2015 Prius with 6k on it and we are noticing one solid brief single click when the brake pedal is pressed and/or released. It doesn't happen every time (just some of the time) but it is only noticeable at slow speeds.
View 19 RepliesOk, did an intake manifold cleaning on my 99 Accord the other day, and now I have problems...
Long story short, some time ago my car started to have a very rough idle. Took me awhile to find the problem. Turned out the air hose, between the filter and throttle body, had developed a big hole on the underside. So I replaced it and while I was at it used some throttle body cleaner, spraying into the intake manifold chamber. Lot of junk blew out the tailpipe. The car ran much better, but the idle could still be a little rough. I ran it that way for awhile, and finally the other day decided there was probably still some junk in there and it was time to really clean it out. So I took ff the throttle body and intake manifold housing. There was a lot of junk in there! The small intake on the passenger side was completely clogged shut. (I understand this isn't surprising on these cars.) I used a bunch of rags and 2 cans of Valvoline throttle body cleaner and a lot of elbow grease and cleaned it out. I was thinking to myself that whatever I didn't get with the rags flushed through OK, but I didn't want to take the whole intake manifold out.
So I put it all back together. (I took a video before I started, so I'm pretty sure it's all back together right.) But now I have problems. The car starts. It idles fine mostly, but can be a bit rough. But the trouble starts when I put the pedal down. If I do it in Park, well, if I push it quick the engine just dies. If I push it slow, the engine revs then quits, revs and quits, over and over. Similar if it's in gear. If I push it hard, the engine stalls. If I push it gentle, it revs up, but chugs along a bit.
I've run some seafoam through it, thinking it was clogged up with all that junk, and sure enough, lots of smoke comes out, but nothing is improving so far. What have I done wrong?
I've had my 2013 Hyundai for about a week now and I feel a slight vibration/shaking when the car is stopped and I have my foot on the brake. When I was in the finance office signing all the papers, etc. The finance manager was trying to sell me the free oil changes for 3 years/tire rotations/filter change for $600. He was adamant that if I do not get all my service done by Hyundai dealer all the warranties are voided. I asked him specifically this question at least 3 times as I was appalled at the notion, and time and time again he would say the second you bring it somewhere else for an oil change the warranty is voided. 5 days later I brought the vehicle back to get my sticker, and I asked the guy at service, he said absolutely not. He said it doesn't matter as long as you have the proof/receipts.
View 18 RepliesMy friend got her front brakes and rotors replaced a few days ago and now the brake pedal is vibrating at various times. It happens when slowing down and at a complete stop. Sounds like the ABS is kicking in to me, BUT is also does it sometimes when driving at low speeds (under 40mph) without pressing the brake pedal. No loud clicking noises, just a quick steady vibration felt at the brake pedal/flooboard.
The service was not done at Hyundai dealership. She is out of town at the moment so we haven't had a chance to take it to the shop yet. She called, they played dumb apparently. I don't know enough about Hyundais to diagnose.
I own a 04 Grand Cherokee and have recently had problems with my passenger side brake light. Now the light itself does work under normal running light conditions, but when I go to press the brake pedal it doesn't engage the bright brake light. Drivers side works fine and so do all my other lights, I replaced the bulb to no avail, and am now currently looking into replacing the bulb socket.
View 1 RepliesI bought a new 2012 Elantra in March. Every so often I get a strange vibration through the brake pedal when I'm at a complete stop (red light/stop sign). It happens intermittently and I can't narrow down any exact cause. It happens when the engine is cold, fully warmed up, A/C on, A/C off, only been driving for a few minutes or driving for a few hours. No system lights come on. I've taken the car to the dealer twice and discussed this with them. They've not hooked it up for any diagnostics as yet. I don't think it's a vacuum line, engine or transmission issue because it is intermittent. I also don't think it's a defective engine/transmission mount. Could it possibly be the ABS module?
View 7 RepliesI have a Toyota Corolla 2010 LE. When I'm driving, no matter how fast I drive, I feel a vibration sound. When I press brake pedal, it's worse than driving. I recently replaced front rotors and brake pads. I also replaced whole tires a month ago.

View 14 RepliesThe last couple thousand of miles I have spent fighting vibrations (especially in steering wheel. Symptoms: When you hit the 65mph mark I am getting slight vibration in the steering wheel. Also passenger chair start shaking substantially more. I assume the shaking is of the whole car, but I feel it the most through the wheel and probably where my brain focuses on.
So far to correct the problem:
- Dealer replaced couple tires which showed excessive weight (the truck came with Michelin HP)
- Wheels were scratched through not careful person, so they have replaced them with a set from a demo
- Dealer balanced wheels 3+ times and done alignment
- Problem was not going away, so I have decided to try different tires and have bough new Michelin MS2
- Discount Tire has done several wheel balances, but seemed that it worked for a day or so
- Meantime also bolts holding lug nuts broke three times while tightening them (don't know if the same one but at three different occasions). Supposedly they have used spec pressure of 80lbs (83 Lexus recommended)
Dealer concentrates on wheel balancing, and is not taking action outside of this. I told the dealer that the problem cannot be wheel related. I think the cause could be one of the three (previous GX470 issues found on internet):
- Wheel bearing in the hub issue
- Drive shaft
- Transmission excluded as vibs are in all gears
- something with steering.
I am awaiting a call from the dealer when the FTS person will at the dealer again so he can trouble shoot the car.
My 2010 RX 350 only has 35K miles and I've been feeling that the smoothness in the ride has really deteriorated in the last several months. So much so, that even though I could have squeezed another 5K or so out of my tires, I bought a new set...OEM Michelin Latitude Tour HP. I can't say the ride has improved at all. Today, I brought it to the Lexus dealer for a brake inspection, because I was getting a slight vibration in the wheel when braking. Front brake job was needed. I was given a 2013 RX 350 as a loaner. The ride in that car is so much smoother. Should I be questioning the suspension or some other issue that would improve the ride?
View 7 RepliesWhen driving my Prius v3 (2,700 miles) I can feel some vibration / wobbling / modulation directly under my left foot. It seems to be fairly consistent regardless of road conditions. I took my car to the dealership today and they told me that they also felt the "issue"... stating that it appears to be coming from perhaps the engine mounts. They also said that they could feel in in the gas pedal. However, they also said that this was normal. In other words, they could not find anything wrong mechanically with my car. So... Good news and bad news. This is "subtle" but definitely there. I think now it's bothering me even more. I find myself moving my left foot around to try and reduce the modulation.

The last few months I have been hearing a strange noise from the driver's side; seems to be coming from under the floorboard and can sometimes feel a vibration in the brake pedal. The noise is similar to a cat meowing. Have a son who is a GM tech; he said it sounds more electrical than mechanical. It happens mostly when I drive it cold. Seems to also happen more when turning/braking. I had the main belt replaced this summer. Should I have the tension pully replaced?

To start off, the Prius is 2010 Prius II and has 120k miles on it. Great Car. Only other problem was AC compressor dying at 90k.
The chirping noise happens when the brake pedal is pressed and does not go away until the release the pedal. It makes the noise regardless of whether the car is on or off.
It makes the noise when the car is stopped and or when the mechanical brake engage at between 0 and 6 mph.
Noise does not occur when the brake switch is removed. Not valid solution since the brake lights will stay on. It does not affect the performance of braking.

Today I faced another problem i just try to start my car but, due the dead 12v battery it didn't start so i pressed the BRAKE PEDAL until it reach the bottom, again i tried to press but its not going to the bottom why was that, is it due to dead battery? And last time i called an automobile expertise to jump start my car. They check the voltage with a digital multi-meter and he said me if you jump start even you will get this problem again until u replace the new battery. but i said him it doesn't matter do a jump start and finally it was ok . Now again I faced the same problem and this time i am going to change the battery.
