GX470 2007-31K. Today was stopped on a hill, when loose brake and I pressed the accelerator starts to sound a noise of hits by the area of the pedals and pull the slip light starts to Flash and until not for flashing the car does not accelerate.

The Owner's Manual says: If the vehicle is in danger of slipping or rolling backward when starting on an incline, or if any of the drive wheels spins, the slip indicator light flashes to indicate that the VSC/TRAC systems are operating.
Luckily, it only happened once... otherwise, I'll roll back to the dealership in the very first day I picked up my car...
Ok I have been trying to find out what is going on with my truck and I cant seem to find anything on here that points to all the symptoms I am having. I have a 05 xlt 4x4 with 5.4. For the last 5 months or so I have been noticing a slip or grinding noise when I go up a hill and it downshifts into I believe 3rd gear. It sounds like going over rumble strips on the road but only lasts a second. It also does it sometimes when I pull out from a stop.Also when I let off gas or brake to a stop it seems to shudder a bit.
Maybe its my imagination since I keep hearing for the grinding sound, I don't know anymore.Its driving me nuts(er). It doesn't do it all the time either.It has only 65,000 miles on it and never towed. I know I am due for a total tranny flush since it never had one. Could this be the whole problem? Iv been reading other stories that sound close to mine but they never mentioned about the noise when pulling out. Could it be the rear end? I am totally lost on this one.Other then that problem it runs great. Shifts nice.
I have a 2007 prius and when I pass 30 miles per hr the slip indicator light start blinking and a beeping sound. What is going on and I have a vsc light on too
View 4 RepliesI have a 97 f150 (built 96 as 97 model), 4.2l 4x4, auto tranny. Here's the problem, when I turn my key forward to run position my starter kicks on and starts the truck, and stays engaged. I have a constant 14v at the signal wire on the starter relay (yellow red stripe). Also tranny started to slip, od light flashing. I replaced ignition lock cylinder, ignition/ starter switch, starter relay, starter, and today transmission range sensor (neutral safety switch 8 pin), same problem. Cel code that I had 2 days ago was P0707 tr sensor low input.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2011 Corolla LE, about 58k miles. The latest work I did was replace the brake pads, rotate the tires and changed the oil a little over 2 weeks ago. Everything was normal so far. Yesterday I drove for about an hour, again everything was fine, but after stopping at a gas station and starting I have several indicator lights come on.
- Slip indicator, flashing
- TRAC OFF, constant
- ABS, flashing
- Electric power steering warning light, flashes but turns off after about 30 seconds.
I tried my OBD scanner with no luck, but figures since there was no Check Engine light.
I have a 2000 F350 7.3 4x4. It began giving intermittent tow/haul flashing light, when going up or down hill but would clear and drive next time truck was cycled off/on. No ABS lights and code reader generated P0720 for the output speed sensor, now I can get it to generate just driving slowly fwd and rev a few times. All of this has been in the last few days.
Truck will stall if I take it up a slight incline with the fault. I replaced the sensor on the top front of the 4r100 transmission and also replaced the sensor on the rear differential after giving up on looking for an output sensor on the transmission. I know the 2WD transmissions have an output sensor but is there one on the 4WD version? I have read several past threads discussing the P0720. I am hoping to confirm what sensor I need to be looking at and where it is located in this application.
Maintenance light is Flashing on and off after initial startup, could it be that its trying to tell me its time to change oil or could it be something else. It is time to change my oil based on the mileage that it was last changed.
View 3 RepliesI have not been here in a while. Sold my IS250 and picked up a 2004 GX470 for the family. Installed a new double DIN head unit a few months ago and finally got around yesterday to installing the backup camera. Since I had the rear hatch open I decided to replace the rear hatch lock actuator motor as well. Hooked everything up and turned on prior to closing the interior panels and everything worked fine (reverse lights, locks, backup camera, started up fine). So I closed up all the panels and go to start the car and I get nothing but random flashing from the dash once I get ignition to ON. I also get a steady clicking from the fuse area.
Checked the fuses and I also tried to hookup to Techstream to see if any errors, but of course I get nothing (it can't connect to the vehicle). I disconnected the negative for 20 mins or so and tried starting again with the same outcome. So I disconnected the camera wires from the reverse light (thinking maybe the GND wire was shorting somewhere to chassis?) and disconnected the negative battery cable for a while and tried once again... same flashing instrument cluster lights and no luck . Gotta get the wifes vehicle back up and running.
A couple of days ago the TPMS light started flashing on my 2004 GX. This morning I took it to a trusted tire shop. They checked each sensor, including the spare, and found they were all sending a signal. At 11 years old, and they are original as far as I know (I've owned it about 7 years), the tech said the signal may be too weak for the ECU to pick up. He didn't want to start changing sensors in the event it is an ECU issue. Not sure what to do for now, other than leave it alone. Is there a way to confirm the ECU is good? Do the scanners tell how strong the signal is?
View 14 RepliesI know how to activate the DAC, read the manual, it says shift to L, put in D, and press the DAC button. Keep it under 15 MPH and when you let go of the brake and gas it will maintain the speed, by engine breaking and breaking.
Here is the problem, followed the directions and the DAC light keeps flashing and the truck speed keeps on climbing no slowing down.
What should I look for? 2004 GX.
Picked up this one owner 2003 with 120k miles, last week! I couldn't be happier with the build quality, and comfort. Its one solid truck! Its by far the nicest most luxurious vehicle my family has ever owned.
There is a flashing "off" light under the height control display on the dash. The height control says it is in neutral however the truck is currently sitting at 3ft from fender to road. I'm going through the owners manual and hopefully will find a way to get this corrected.
The truck will be taken to Lexus here in Dublin, OH on Saturday for a full inspection and fresh fluids.
2005 GX470... Long time Toyota owner, first time Lexus with tpms. Light is flashing meaning a bad sensor from what I've read. Lexus wants $ to check and repair one wheel. Discount tire had a hand held checker and it found two bad sensors.

I did notice that the theft light is not flashing this time. Truck acts as if its not in park. I have wiggled the shifter, and even tried to start it in neutral with no luck. Im really thinking that it has something to do with the anti theft/PATS system.

View 2 RepliesLast week while on the highway I noticed my AC was not blowing cold. It was set to the lowest temperature and at the lowest fan setting. The air had gone from cold to room temperature and the AC button light was flashing/blinking.
I pressed the button, it lit up solid and it started blowing cold again. Two minutes later the air went back to room temperature and the light was flashing again.
It worked fine for a few days and then it happened again Saturday. I noticed the air wasn't coming out cold and see that the AC button is blinking. I tap it solid and it starts blowing cold again only this time it stayed cold for the rest of the 20 minute drive. What could be going on here?
My "Maintenance Required" light on the dash is flashing 4-5-6 times when I start up the Prius every time, why?...
I went through all of my Maintenance menu items and most of them arent set to begin with, but the ones that ARE set, still have 4000+ miles til the next service...
I just purchased a 2004 GX with only 45K miles and I love the truck. I have driven one with the TSB clunk and my current problem is different. When I stop at a light and go to start driving again I feel a thud when I take my foot off of the brake. There is no problem when I stop just when I go to start again. Is this a serious problem or normal?
I talked to Lexus before buying the truck and they said that the TSB fix had been repaired.
I have an interesting automatic transmission problem. Hot or cold makes NO difference. When the car is started, put in reverse it will work perfectly 100% of the time. When the car is started, put in Drive the transmission will slip for about 5-10 seconds before working perfectly. When the car is started, if you wait 3-5 minutes, then put it in Drive it will work perfectly.
