My rear seat cupholder is stuck close. I'm referring to the one in the armrest. I purchase truck about few weeks ago and haven't used the holder. Looking for info about removing the holder?

After going through this initial opening, the second attempt will open properly & close only when Power Door Button is depressed. Recently had some engine work done by Dealer & wondering if door settings may have been disturbed. 2005 RX330
View 11 RepliesAfter owning the truck for a little over a year I figure it's time to fix the little stuff staring off with the rear door. When pressing any of the 3 buttons to open/close it I get it to work 50% of the time. That being said, I can't pinpoint a specific bad part.

I just got the car back from a minor bumper fix from the body shop last week, and my daughter showed me that the armrest controls in the back are dark. Think it could be a fuse, relay or the genius at the body shop had to disconnect something and did not connect something back. If it is simple, I'd rather take care of it, than go back to him again.

View 5 RepliesThis has been an issue for a long time. The entire panel behind the center compartment with the cup holder would just come off for no reason. When if first happened, I was driving and it just felt right off. I snapped it back in place and it looked tight. But every now and then, it will just come off itself. Everytime I snapped it back in place but with just a little tap from the side of the cup holder, it's off again.
I've had it and I told the service advisor about the problem as I brought the car to the dealer for an oil change. The guy claimed he has never seen anything like this before and called the service manager to take a look. Then they looked at other gen2 priuses they had. Almost everyone of them came off with just a tap from the side. One of them required a little more effort but it's still very easy to take that off.
Then they told me it's normal since all Priuses they checked are like that. "We didn't design it, we just fix it".. Well that's true but that sounded a little irresponsible. They ordered a new part hoping it will get it fixed. Lucky it's still under warranty. I'll see what's next.
I think this is a manufacturer defect. I really didn't expect something like this from a Toyota. We rarely use the rear seats. Even when we did, I'm pretty sure the cup holders were not used, or being put on a heavy load or anything.
The leather driver's side armrest, the one that you're able to adjust for driver's right arm, is peeling. The leather looks to have a treatment on it and is peeling off like a bad sunburn. The leather underneath is dull looking and i need to have it recovered. My gx is blizzard pearl and the interior is caramel color or ecru. It just looks awful and i keep it folded up so I don't have to look at it but I am not being able to rest my arm.

[/COLOR] Also the radio antenna will not go all the way down - about five inches stays up. Are the two problems related. Like others mentioned, I could eat off of the engine and the trunk still smells like a new car.
View 14 RepliesThe power rear door to my wife's rx350 is stuck, mainly because there is a thick strap stuck in between the door. Pressing the power door open button won't work or even trying to use the manual button above the rear license plate. I can't even pull the strap out since it's jammed in there pretty tight. How to get the door working again?

I can unzip the leather and there is two screws in the back that can be removed and the cup holder comes out. Can replace just the cup holder?

View 14 RepliesEvery so often my rear cargo door handle is impossible to open. I can hear the lock mechanism lock/unlock but the handle won't compress to open the door. I had a mechanic get in it the other day by removing the inside panel. He states I need a new cable assembly. I have ordered one using our discount from Sewell. I have since come across a TSB about the actuator being an issue. I'm assuming my mechanic would know the difference. He said the cable is stretched and it makes the handle travel too far to engage. I'll try the cable at $35 delivered before the whole mechanism for $250 delivered.

It seems a pen has gone down in that groove so now the lid does not open enough to get a drink into the holder. Any tips on getting the pen out from the bottom of the channel where the lid folds into??
View 2 RepliesThis morning I opened my center console armrest to tuck the iPod cord back in, when I went to lower the armrest it only dropped about 1/5th the total amount it would need to close. I fooled with it for long enough to know If I continue to apply more pressure something is going to break. The movement it has is smooth until the point it abruptly stops. I checked the owners manual with no luck, called the dealer service center which came up empty handed as well.
View 8 RepliesMy rear driver-side door's lock just stopped functioning. It is in the locked position and I can't put it in the unlocked position using the key or manually (and I've tried using a LOT of force). The door itself is actually not locked. When I lock and unlock the doors, all the other doors work fine, and the broken one tries to lock and unlock, but it is stuck hard in it's position. But, the door stays unlocked under all circumstances.
