View 8 RepliesAfter going through the car wash several times now in my 2010 RX 350, my front license plate has been bent in all different directions. Car wash guys say it's due to not having a full plate holder, where as 4 screws secure the plate vs. only the top 2 as we have. Any plate holder from another vehicle that I might adapt to overcome this?
View 14 RepliesMy son was getting out of the back seat and pulled his coat across the cup holder in the center console and broke it. The dealer said that I have to buy the whole arm rest for $1100. I can unzip the leather and there is two screws in the back that can be removed and the cup holder comes out. Can replace just the cup holder?
View 12 RepliesMy rear seat cupholder is stuck close. I'm referring to the one in the armrest. I purchase truck about few weeks ago and haven't used the holder. Looking for info about removing the holder?
View 8 RepliesIt appears something has fallen behind the lid to my cup holder, it won't fully open. Not a big fan of the design here, looks like the while center console has to be opened up.
View 1 RepliesMy 2003 F150 "ash tray/cup holder" won't open unless I stick a screwdriver behind the edge and pry. I know this can't be right. There are small letters on the front of it that says push. Why would I push to make it open? I can't figure out how to get it out of the dash to see what is wrong.
View 5 RepliesOk, Im trying to get my front licence plate holder off. I've looked in all the DIY forums and cant find what im looking for. My question is how do i get this thing off?? I've took the two screws that hold the thing to the bumper off, and its still soild as before i took the screws out. Is it held on by the rub strip?
View 24 RepliesI am trying to remove the drink compartment so I can remove a pen that has lodged behind the lid on the cup holder?
View 3 RepliesI came into my car, I was cleaning my cup holder and the bottem is MELTED! All I keep there is GUM and drinks. The melted plastic is the same dent as if I staked the gum box. What kind of cheap plasic is Lexus using? I can't believe its gotten THAT hot in the car. Heck, I would figure other things to melt first. To top it off, the gum box looks ok. No plastic smell from it either.
View 14 RepliesI am in the process of having my interior wrapped in 3M Anthracite and have the cup holder removed, and noticed there is a wire harness below it that plugs into the cup holder unit. Since the holder doesn't truly have any electrical components what is the purpose of it? Additionally, I've noticed since I unplugged this harness, my LuxLink has stopped responding. How this can be related?
View 14 RepliesI am on my 3rd GTI, a 2013 GTI Autobahn, came out of 2011 GTI Sunroof/conv model. I have various rattling noises in this car. The sunglasses holder rattles all the time especially when i am listening to music with a little bass, the roof rattles a bit but that seems to go away if i close the sunroof shade, also my front passenger door rattles.
View 22 RepliesOdd thing is now that the iPhone app updated, whenever I lock/unlock my car via the app the front and rear parking lights flash (DRL and tail lights), once when locking and twice when unlocking. That's never happened before. The doors would just lock/unlock with no lights. Found that a bit weird considering all that was changed was the app software, unless an update was pushed to the module in the car and I didn't know. Not really a concern but odd nonetheless...
View 2 RepliesI wonder if I could remove the SOS system and install eyeglass holder in its place?
View 1 RepliesI have an 06 gs300 awd. My left front axle boot is torn wide open. I've called multiple parts stores, looked online. And I can't seem to find one anywhere but the dealer. I have found one for gs350. So my question is will that one work in my gs300? What is the part number from the dealer is different between 06 and 07?
View 5 RepliesI'm so used to my Prius which had a sunglasses holder compartment on the center roof. I didn't realized how great it was until now.
Where do you normally store your sunglasses? I'm looking for a place with easy access.
The cup holder lid won't stay closed on my wife's 2009 es350. The lid moves fine, but won't click to stay closed. Can I repair this myself.
View 5 Repliesill be building a box to go behind the seat of my crew cab f250.. is a shallow sub necessary? or can you use a normal sub?
View 7 RepliesFound out today the cup holder cover stuck open, button is stuck depressed so lid doesn't close, taken out this section before? I guess kids was having too much fun with it.
View 1 RepliesI have problems with passenger side front door. It won't lock/unlock when holding the hand on the handle or when pressing the button on the handle. Everything is fine on driver side and when using the lock button from the arm rest on the same driver side of Prius. It is also OK when I unlock/lock the car with the FOB.
View 7 RepliesThis has been an issue for a long time. The entire panel behind the center compartment with the cup holder would just come off for no reason. When if first happened, I was driving and it just felt right off. I snapped it back in place and it looked tight. But every now and then, it will just come off itself. Everytime I snapped it back in place but with just a little tap from the side of the cup holder, it's off again.
I've had it and I told the service advisor about the problem as I brought the car to the dealer for an oil change. The guy claimed he has never seen anything like this before and called the service manager to take a look. Then they looked at other gen2 priuses they had. Almost everyone of them came off with just a tap from the side. One of them required a little more effort but it's still very easy to take that off.
Then they told me it's normal since all Priuses they checked are like that. "We didn't design it, we just fix it".. Well that's true but that sounded a little irresponsible. They ordered a new part hoping it will get it fixed. Lucky it's still under warranty. I'll see what's next.
I think this is a manufacturer defect. I really didn't expect something like this from a Toyota. We rarely use the rear seats. Even when we did, I'm pretty sure the cup holders were not used, or being put on a heavy load or anything.
The little device that hold doors open (so they don’t swing freely) aren’t very effective on my ’09 model. Actually, it's only a problem on the front doors. The rear doors hold position quite well. The front doors have always been a problem and I wonder if is this typical. Is there a fix (other than replacement)?
