Need to replace Seatbelt assembly on a 2004 GX 470 driver's side?
Mine reads sometimes, but other times I get the airbag warning light, so I need to replace it.
2003 Ex, EB, bench style middle row. I have owned less than a year.
Purchased with a broken latch assembly the drivers side middle row...promptly replaced for $70. Today, it is broke again, less than a year. I am going to do some more investigating as to HOW this happened TWICE.
Chipped, broken housing on their middle latch assembly? It breaks the black part first, which holds the guts in alignment....once the black part slips down or up to far...the guts do not function.
So it seems as if either the switch in the driver's side seat belt indicator is sticking (off, indicating my seat belt is NOT fastened even though it is), or it's broken. Although, it doesn't do this EVERY time I fasten my seat belt, it's doing it more frequently. I have to refasten it (multiple times) to get it to see it's fastened.

Having a very annoying rattle/creaking near the seat belt pillar on the driver's side? This occurs continously even on smooth highway roads. I will ask them to check it out at the 5k service.
Also, my steering wheel slightly "clicks" when turning the steering wheel 1 full turn to the right. It doesn't do it on the left side, and doesn't seem right. No turn signals or anything is on. Just seems flimsy with all these noises!
OnApril 3, 2014, I purchased a 2007 Lexus RX350 with 60,000 miles. It was first driven in June or July of 2006, and I was told by numerous Lexus owners that Lexus was absolutely great about any problems I might have, Lexus was fabulous about putting customer service and care first.
Sometime in mid-July, when my mechanic was changing the oil, he noticed the rack and pinion steering were leaking. I did some research and discovered the leak was relatively common in the 2007 RX350 Lexus and most owners found they didn't need to do anything about the leak unless it was severe. I chose not to fix it at that time.
In late November, early December 2015, I noticed condensation behind both headlamp lenses. The headlamp on the driver's side was beginning to rust and the ballast had already been ruined. To fix the headlamps would require a full headlamp assembly. I called a local dealership and was told there was a voluntary recall or warranty. I don't remember the exact words.
Really? Six (6) months too late for a vehicle that had 60,000 miles on it. Now a car that I've had less than two (2) years currently with 80,000 miles, will require several thousand dollars to fix the headlamps.
I have my 2004 gx470 in for service today. I have noticed that the air compressor seems to run longer and more frequent . I bought the trunk July of 2013. I have lexus plat extended warranty. Prior to this service in august of 2013 I was experiencing similar issues and when the truck was in then they replaced the rear air height control reservoir assembly . Now they are changing the rear drivers side airbag . My question is should air bags be replaced as a pair. Will I notice any ride difference since they are only replacing the one that is leaking . I would figure common sense would apply and that the air bag works or is does not.
View 6 RepliesSo I was trying to track down this squeak noise and I removed the drivers side seat belt but now the belt will not retract? It's stuck like this, is there a manual release? Buying another one is not a option right now. And I have to drive the car tomorrow morning.

View 3 RepliesThe driver's seatbelt no longer retracts. I took it to my dealer and they want $585 to replace it. I can pick up a used one for $65. If I can figure out how to get the door pillar trim off can I replace this seatbelt or is it incorporated into the airbag system and requires special munitions skills?

I have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline with just shy of 120,000 miles on it. I love this little truck and have have no real problems with it at all, except the drivers seat belt. The problem is that when you pull the seat belt out to put it on, it squeals so loudly that it hurts my ears! Obviously I can't squirt oil on it, but is there anything that can be done to quiet it down without affecting its function?

I have read other threads on the subject and was wondering if someone could not modify a drivers side seat mechanism to work on the drivers side. I am aware of the GPS disk etc.
Today my driver side seat belt got locked in the retracted position for no reason. I drove the truck to work, no issues with the seat belt, but when I got in to go get some lunch, I went to put the belt on and it moves about 2-3 inches out of the retractor and locks.
The other issue I'm having, is that I can't get the retractor cover off to see if theres something inside locking the belt or if it is going to need to be replaced.
How to get the cover off and if possible, fix the belt without replacing it.
Few weeks ago I bought my first Lexus, an '07 GX 470. It has roughly 75,000 miles on it, 2 previous owners before me. Anyway, I hear a noise sometimes which either sounds like a slight belt slip or fuel being pumped into the injectors when I give it a good amount of gas and the engine downshifts to accelerate. I had the dealer replace the drive belt(serpentine belt) because of 2 reasons, it needed to be replaced and I thought that could be the problem(I did not have to pay for it since I have had some problems with the Lexus dealership I bought it from, they did it as a "goodwill" gesture, that's a story for another thread) and inspect the tensioner and pulleys, they said the pulleys and tensioner were in good working order.
I drove the GX home tonight after said replacement, and I still noticed the same noise. The best I can describe it is like I said above, a slight belt slipping noise or it could also be described I guess as fuel being injected under acceleration as soon as the trans downshifts to accelerate. I am just curious if this is normal for this engine or do I have a possible problem? It's covered under the Lexus used car warranty for another 5 months so if there is something wrong, obviously I would like it fixed under warranty if something is wrong. One thing I should probably mention is, the noise is semi quiet and I guess the average person might not even notice it.
I love my Ex and I love my dobermann, but the two did not mix one day. In a matter of seconds, he almost chewed completely thru the driver's seat belt. Guess he thought I was taking too long to get out. It's basically hanging on by a quarter inch of fabric and seriously needs replacing.
I figure it can't be that hard to replace myself, but I cannot see how to remove the molding/housing that hides the mechanics of it all. I've been searching for videos, but none of them are for the Ex. :
How I can remove the housing and change the belt myself. Looking for a video or pictures.....
I've had some awful noise coming from the front drivers side of my car. Determining the likly cause to be the wheel bearing, I decided to tackle replacing the hub assembly as a lovely weekend project. Things were going along ok - Removed brake caliper, removed the axle nut (that wasn't fun), removed the rotor (rather persistently stuck on, but it gave in the end), and then came removing the hub assembly itself. Had a rented hub puller, put it on, started tightening it down and tapping on the hub as I went. It was getting pretty tight on there (was starting to worry about the safety of the cv shaft), and then as I tapped on the hub one last time, the hub and hub puller popped off the car... I was elated, until I realized rather than pulling the entire hub assembly out, it had actually separated the inner track of the bearing from the outer track, leaving the wheel bearing and flange behind inside the steering knuckle.
So, here I sit, with half my hub assembly on the ground and the other half still in the car. How to get the rest of the hub assembly out, now that there is nothing to really pull on? I've tapped around on it for a couple hours, and soaked it in enough penetrating oil to make the car flamable, but no give. I've even tried putting the hub bolts back in through the back and tapping on them with a hammer to no avail (probably going to have to replace the bolts now, but one problem at a time).
Having issue with seat belt buckle vibration, passenger side, when the vehicle speed is between 40-50 miles/hr ? It feels like an exhaust vibration transferred through the floor connection of the seat belt. How can I get rid of it ? The vibration feels like a cell phone set on vibrating and is very annoying for the passenger.
View 2 RepliesOn my 2004 F-150 (new style) the passenger seat belt will not release. What steps do I need to take to find the retractible mechanism in the back portion of the seat? Does one have to cut the fabric? I removed the head rest and the top portion where the belt rides but can't locate the retractible part.
View 3 RepliesHave owned my 2008 GX470 for about 8 months now and love it. However, over the last month I have noticed the molding between the driver door and roof has been popping out. I don't know if there are clamps down in there that have fallen out or if the molding just needs to be clamped back in. Picture is below.
View 5 RepliesHow to disable the seat belt alarm on a 2008 Lexus RX 350? I tried the "reset odometer" method and that doesn't work. I also took the car to a Toyota dealer and a former Lexus technician could not disable it via computer. This alarm is annoying!
