My 2006 GX470 armrest are needing replacement. I am considering purchasing 7421060200A0 and 7422060200A0, and doing the job myself. Any instructions on how to do this?
View 5 RepliesThe leather driver's side armrest, the one that you're able to adjust for driver's right arm, is peeling. The leather looks to have a treatment on it and is peeling off like a bad sunburn. The leather underneath is dull looking and i need to have it recovered. My gx is blizzard pearl and the interior is caramel color or ecru. It just looks awful and i keep it folded up so I don't have to look at it but I am not being able to rest my arm.

View 8 RepliesThe material you rest your arm on when driving is worn out and I am trying to replace it. The armrest slides a little forward with a double plastic catch in normal use but I can't figure out what to use to get the two plastic catches to release and slide off so the new one can go back on. The double plastic catch looks to be about 1" in length at about a 45 degree angle. The two pieces that are the catches look like the ends of a clothespin. So I think something under there needs to depressed so the whole armrest can be slid by what's stopping it. At least thats what I think from looking at the new one and trying to picture in my head how it works. You can't force anything that is plastic because it will just break.

View 4 RepliesThe middle console that serve as a little box...very similar to the one in my 06 Sonata. In my Sonata it makes no squeaks of any sort.
Before I dump a gallon of wd-40 on this puppy, is there any remedy for this? It makes a little annoying squeak.
My first initial thought is to lightly lubricate the hinge that makes it go up and down.
We own a 2008 LS600Hl and love it. I just got the car back from a minor bumper fix from the body shop last week, and my daughter showed me that the armrest controls in the back are dark. Think it could be a fuse, relay or the genius at the body shop had to disconnect something and did not connect something back. If it is simple, I'd rather take care of it, than go back to him again.
View 6 RepliesHad my rear right hub replaced by a mechanic yesterday Faulty bearing ,and upon leaving his shop ,, my dash lit up like crazy , ABS ,Yellow and Red circle , AFS Flashing ,check 4WD ,Check VSC , Brought it right back ,he took it apart to verify the ABS sensor witch seemed ok visually ,and told me it was the hub that could be faulty.
Can a ABS sensor be damaged ,with the use of an impact driver nearby ? Can this ABS sensor be checked with a simple ohm meter ?
Just replaced my bulbs with the Garax 6000k and they look good but now my check engine light and VSC light is on. Problem started after changing bulbs? My pops said it should go away but we're not sure. Is there a way to reset it and get rid of the lights?

A few years back I had the dealership work on the famous creaks and I know they stuffed felt in between the windshield cowl area. Would that need to be redone?
I would request a factory windshield but I'm concerned if it might make the creaking worse or if it would affect the integrity of the car.
I have a 2006 GS300. Changed out the battery today, and immediately after the AC quit working. Pushing the climate control button reveals the message "Check the connection of the air conditioner".
View 3 RepliesI'm having issues with very loud screeching noises on my 08 awd. Sounds like a garbage truck. Lexus said its $625 to replace brake pads and rotors to stop the noise. I'm not really a fan of DIY so is that a fair price for the parts and labor or should I bring it somewhere else?
View 14 RepliesMy headlights suffered from the dreaded condensation problem. I brought them to Lexus after getting the warranty enhancement paperwork and had them replaced. Shortly after the passenger side wheel cover was ripped off after getting caught on some ice during a storm. It was very shortly after that that condensation begin appearing in my passenger side headlight.
At that point I was unaware that the wheel well cover had been ripped off. I brought it back to Lexus to have it looked at since I only had the headlight replaced a few weeks before. I was told it would be at a cost of $2,500 to replace with an additional $400 for the wheel well cover. Needless to say, I did not have the work done that day. While I was waiting them for them to finish the paperwork I bought the wheel well cover for $50 online but since then I've had difficulty locating the headlight.
I brought it to my mechanic and he was unable to find the headlight as well. I have a 2009 rx350 with HID AFS headlights. I have looked on ebay, Amazon and just through the internet to see what I could find but I'm finding only halogen headlights. Most of what I'm seeing on eBay are for non-adaptive lights that are damaged.
I have a 2007 RX 350 2WD. Recently, the check engine light is on, as well we two other lights are on as well: VSC, TRAC OFF.
I went to Lexus and was told that the error code is P0356. I was told that the ignition coil F is problematic and need replaced. I was quoted 1 and 1/2 hours two 2 hours work and need $412 for the repair. Well, I went to auto zone and was told that No 2, 4, 6 ignition coils were on outside so that it would only take about 5 minutes to replace the problematic one with a new one.
I did the replacement indeed by myself after buying a new ignition coil. Initially it was fine and the light went off after a little while. However, after about 10 days, those three lights went back again. I check the ignition coil, it seems fine and I was told that it is very unlikely for a new ignition coil to go bad this quickly.
I was told that I may need to check my spark plug as well. BTW, when I start the car, the car is a little bit shaky.
Just had my front shocks replaced (one was leaking) at a local indy shop. The GX rides so much better now!
Problem is when I picked it up this morning, the VCS, ABS, traction lights were all on. Checked the gas cap, but that's okay (actually had the cap replaced recently due to a bad cap causing the same problem).
What would cause the lights to go on after replacing the front shocks? Is it merely a coincidence I wonder or did the tech perhaps forget to connect something?
