Alternator on my 2006 GX failed, caused battery to discharge and vehicle stopped. Alternator was replaced, battery (was new) is testing fine. All electronics and indicator lights normal except Nav system. Display reads insert proper disc. I have ejected and reloaded disc multiple times, no change. Disc is OEM, one release back.
View 14 RepliesI was playing around with the navigation system of my 06 RX400H because I read about the motion override online; however I was being stupid and chose the wrong option under the "load" menu, so the navigation system kept telling me "insert correct disk. ". Hoping that I could find a simple "reset" option there, I was playing with the diagnostic mode quite a bit. One setting allow you to select the navigation unit start up logo between Toyota, Lexus, and None. There is another interesting option called "car setting" don't know what it does.
Seemed like it let you toggle between a numerous of settings, I remember one being 9001X4WD or something. I didn't know what the setting does and accidentally changed the vehicle setting for my navigation unit. After confirming the edit, I realized that the mapping for all the buttons on my panel completed changed! First of all the map button (which wasn't working at the time because I had the wrong load option) became the "Audio" button that is similar to the audio button on my other car, 06 IS350, it showed me all my audio presets and I could choose using the touch the screen (normally this feature is disabled for RX400H).
I realized I might have screwed up the setting and wanted to change back to the original vehicle setting. I couldn't find much information online, so I figure I probably hit that set button by mistake 2 or 3 times, so I reverted the car code back to what it was 3 selections ago, and bam! My panel buttons are messed up even further! Now I don't even have access to the "info" button any more! I can still get access to the first level diagnostic mode using the "display setting" (display key is mapped to the info button now) then left upper corner + left lower corner method, however I can't change the vehicle code in this mode.
I took the car to a local dealer, and the service tech was like "what the heck did you do" and he said he don't know how to fix this except to replace the whole navigation ECU which would cost thousands of bucks. I asked him it would be as simple as getting access to the onboard ECU memory and rewrite it and he said the data format is Toyota proprietary and the dealer doesn't know how to fix it.
Of course I wasn't satisfied with the answer I got, I took the car home. Following some good information on forums and navigation ECU replace instructions on AllData, I was able to remove the navigation ECU from the car, then took it apart, disconnected the power daughter board, pushed the black reset button(?), and then put everything back together. I have seem people saying this method working and not working, but for me it did work. When I restarted the vehicle, the "loading data do not turn off" screen came on, and after the system booted, GPS navigation is working as usual now. On e interesting observation, before the GPS unit has established a connection with the satellites (took about 2-3 minutes to do so), the default location for the vehicle in the system is somewhere in Washington D.C.
Now I have undone my "load version" mistake. However, without the "info" button being mapped to the dashboard, I don't even have access to the menu where you can change the "car code", so even if I know the correct code now, I wouldn't be able to enter it. also it seems that I was able to reset the ECU when I took it apart, I am suspecting that the setting for "car code" isn't store in the ECU but it is stored somewhere instead.
I have a 2004 Prius with 80k miles. Always has been a workhorse. Recently had a bad cell in the HV battery. Battery rebuilt with new cell and now works great.
Now it runs about 20 miles and then displays dash lights of red triangle and small exclamation (brake?) and VSC.
I took it to Advance Auto and their scanner reads C1310 'Malfunction in HV system'.
I actually replaced the entire HV battery again with the battery from my friend's car, and the 12V battery too, but no luck. Same error.
If i disconnect the 12v battery for a while, it will clear the code and the car runs fine for about 20 miles and then dash lights come on again.
Car runs perfectly, over 50mpg even with the dash lit up. What that code is?
I have a Lariat 4x4 supercrew cab with a CD 6 disc changer head unit. Error message. No Disc, and Load Error. Will not eject any of the 6 loaded CDs. Pulled/reset fuse. No luck. Banged on dash while trying to eject any of the loaded CDs.. no luck. Unit cycles when first starting the engine. Radio works fine. Unit locked up....Ford Mx tech says the solenoid that holds the CD is frozen in position and will not release.
View 3 RepliesInserted updated nav disc as directed in nav disc slot, closed door. Now the disc is stuck in the scan-disc mode and the load/eject button doesn't work on it. Wondering if there is a way to force eject the disc or other way to unstick it. You can hear the disc 'whirring' briefly as if it is trying to eject, but is stuck. It does this over and over. That's the only sound; none of the other buttons are responsive.

Unlike other, similar threads I've seen, the CDs were all able to be ejected, reloaded, and ejected again, but will not play.
View 10 RepliesThe OEM DVD player in my '04 started having problems with occasionally displaying a disc format error across the screen. The movie usually still plays, but the lettering is stays on the screen. If you go back through the menus it will sometimes go away or you just have to eject and reload the DVD. Now it does it pretty much everytime we turn the player on.

Not knowing much about navigation screens I assumed I could figure out how to update it by just going though some screens.....!!! I went through all the gps screens and got to a screen that said update gps or something like that..... but anyway I pushed it like a idiot and now its stuck on insert map dvd!!! I am like what?? Nothing came out though. Now I cant get the navigation to start back! Whats going on..where would a dvd come out at? How did I have navigation if no disc was in??

Are or could these be related? Where should I start to troubleshoot the issue?
My wife's 04 GX deflates sometimes when we park it, you can clearly hear a loud "whooshing" noise occasionally when we park it in our garage. The rear then goes to the lowest possible setting, it looks odd laying that low. Because it's not my car, I don't know if it always did that, but it seems "new" to me.
The deflation sound is coming from the rear mounted compressor on the rear driver side, I went under the car to investigate. It also appears that the air bags themselves aren't leaking, I raised the car to the highest setting, and it stayed there without the compressor kicking on or any leaking noise.
My guess is maybe the sensors need to be replaced, the thing is, I don't want to "shotgun" parts at a problem and spend $500 or so dollars on new sensors to experiment. How do I know the rear is behaving correctly?
I have a 2006 RX400h. On 3 occasions I've been stranded. The car won't start and I get an error/message Shift to P when Starting. However I am in Park. It's coupled with a Check VSC System warning. Service department says I have just drained the accessory battery, however nothing is being used other than standard equip such as lights, dash etc. I've had all batteries changed in the car over the 4 years I've owned it. Is this usual?

View 10 RepliesWhen shifting from reverse to park or drive, the mirror tilts back up but not in the position it was prior. It is actually quite irritating because I would start driving and have to adjust the mirrors back to the desired setting. I've also just sat there and shifted from park -> reverse -> park and recalled the memory setting and I will see it make the adjustments.

View 3 RepliesJust installed the Vaistech iVic unit yesterday and everything seemed to function fine, but noticed once I started driving today that my Navigation unit was off. It still operated and tracked movement OK, only the maps were about 10 minutes away from where I was actually located.
I've turned off the car several times since, and also took out the Navigation disc and re-installed but it keeps putting me in the same wrong place, This all happens in the normal standard Lexus modes.
I have a 2004 VW Phaeton.
Today, the sound system failed, then shortly after, the navigation system failed.
On the console, if I press any map/navigation buttons, the error message "Navigation System Unavailable" is displayed.
If I press an audio related button, the error message "DSP system is unavailable". I took it to a private vw repair shop and a vw dealer. What was causing the issue.
I am now headed to a vw dealer with certified phaeton tech. I looked towards fuse issue, but they appear to be ok..
so we scanned it, the funny thing is I called up VW and 30v v6's don't have an Idle Control Valve?

I went to start the car this morning, battery was dead. Jump Started, and all these messages came up.
I have disconnected the battery for a good 2 hours, still no luck. I charged the battery. So its starts right up now.
The Brake Pedal is really HARD. When you brake, the car leans to the front Right Side.
When I reconnected the battery, The Brake Pedal is soft, but is instantly hard when Started.
I have problem in my VW Passat v6 2002. When insert car key to turn on start Engine, The screen shows an error message: "immobil activated" That means: Immobilizer is activated! And after that car is auto turn off then the Engine shut down in one second with flashing key light! As the fuel tank is empty..
But When I try to start again after an hour / two hours it's works!! This situation comes up if the car was parked from last night until the moment of start on in the afternoon!!! What is strange that this problem does not occur only at the time of day warm, Between 5 and 11 o'clock in the afternoon hot days!!! Because this problem is not never happen in the evening and night.
I go to the Workshop for dellership Car Agency. They re-programmable keys, But the problem is still continuing.
