I just bought this SUV and everything seems to be perfect, however when I get in and out of the truck it squeaks. It seems to be the springs... If I push the truck up or down it does the same thing. Is this normal and or can I fix it?
View 4 RepliesI have a 05 gx470 and I was having trouble with the rear staying bottomed out and not pumping up. I replaced both ride height sensors. Nothing changed until about 1 hour of driving the compressor kicked on. it road better but still bottomed out some. So I raised the sensors about 5mm. it road great for about 10 miles then went back to riding on the axles. No compressor activity. Also when the compressor is not engaging the push buttons do nothing with changing the dash from H-N-L no matter when you push it. If you hear the compressor running all the buttons will work just fine. I have a useless car because it is not safe to drive when its riding on the axle bump stops.
View 8 RepliesI've had the stiff ride issue with my 2005 gx470. Took it to three lexus dealers and finally the vehicle is fixed. Hats off to Lexus of Maplewood, St Paul, MN. Their shop foreman persisted and found after several days troubleshooting; a speed sensor was the culprit. My ride is much smoother over speed bumps without the need to cycle through the height adjustment.

View 3 RepliesMy left rear suspension will leak down to bump stops unless I turn off auto suspension leveler. I can set suspension at high level turn off and it will stay that way i had set that way for 2 weeks and no leak but if I turn on leveler it may stay or it may leak down usually just left side somebody had said that my air bags were leaking so I tested it out all last month and find it hard to believe the bags are leaking if it will stay inflated a week or 2.

View 4 RepliesIt's a 07 prius with 65k miles. I realized that it is making this squeaking noise while going over bumps "ONLY" when the brakes are applied.
I have 2 toyota dealerships checked. 1st dealer said no noise and 2nd dealer also said no noise... then, i requested to drive with the mechanic and he somehow heard the noise while I am in the car.

When I accelerate from a dead stop I have this squeaking that comes from the back of the truck that goes away after a few seconds. Then when I get up to about 50mph I have this really annoying vibration. Its not a real heavy vibration but it is there. I am thinking it could be the universal joints, am I way off here or what?

The left side of the truck in the back is sitting about 1.5 inchs higher than the right rear? I measured the distance between the rims and the edge of the panel in the back. I am baffled. I raised it, lowered it, and still unequal height. Its going to the dealer on wednesday.
I have a 2005 Ford F-150 with a 5.4L V8 engine. Few months ago I started getting this squeaking noise coming from the front tires when I turn the wheel. I took it to the mechanic and he said the ball joints need to be replaced. Do you think it's the only reason why this is happening? If not, what else? The noise is pretty bad and the ball joints have never been replaced before.

View 16 Repliesmy (mostly) stock suspension is squeaking at 45k and overall is a bit louder than it was. I do have VWR F&R sways installed as well as the tyrolsport deadset subframe bolts, but everything else is stock. I was considering the VWR springs but have held off so far...
Objective: maintain ride comfort while getting better performance than stock. Ride comfort is key as I travel on quite a few harsh roads out here in the Northeast. I was fairly happy with stock as is was lower/stiffer than the stock GTI suspension that I was accustomed to. For the most part, I actually like the GTI's comfier ride better in commuting/road trip scenarios (which is the bulk of my driving). Bottom line, I want something durable, comfortable, and better handling than stock.
At 45k should I replace the struts as well?Could the squeaking be from something other than strut mounts? Are there coil-overs that would achieve my objective?
Ok this just started and it has to do with brakes in a way----the Noise is the sound of when you are deflating a balloon (the squeaking sound). Its under the dash area and I can make it do it if I press on the brake pedal and let off it will make the squealing sound. Some times it will do it on its own just driving along without even hitting the breaks, but when it DOES start doing it I can make it do the noise constantly pushing the brake pedal down and then letting off!!!
View 10 RepliesSince we bought the GX470 we have been plagued by obnoxious squeaking coming from somewhere in the rear of the vehicle. The squeaking occurs whenever driving over very bumpy roads or under hard braking and sounds like plastic on metal. While wiping down the windows I happened to bump the plastic shroud encasing the top of the rear hatch(barn door). This produced noise similar to that heard while driving.
I am thinking that there must be something loose in the rear hatch causing this terrible noise. There must be a way to tighten the plastic shroud up or add some foam insulation to get rid of the noise.
My moms GX 470 squeaks a lot at lower speeds and when pressing on the brakes. She's taken it to the repair shop twice, they said they tried replacing the brakes and they were still squeaking. It has to be something around the wheels cause thats where the sound is coming from.

View 12 RepliesI am having this issue when crossing a bump at high speed, it only sound when the shocks de-compress and only happening in the mornings so I think it might be the piston rod inside the shocks that is "getting dry" on the night and therefore making the sound in the mourning.
View 3 RepliesHow quaint for these issues to turn up after the initial warranty period ends. Recently I've been having trouble with noises coming from the left wheel well. The worst noise is a grinding sound while steering to the left only. It sounds like two metal pieces rubbing together and it reverberates through the spring (or so it seems). Whilst driving, the noise changes.
I will hear a rattling coming from the left side as if something were lose; the sound is intermittent and occurs because of variations in the pavement. It is not a constant sound. Whilst going over speed bumps at low speed the sound is a creaking noise that sounds remarkably like creaky springs; oh and the rattle noise is produced at the initial "impact" with the speed bump as well, but only once.
Finally, it seems that it is important to note that I cannot reproduce ANY of these sounds when it is raining! I drove around for 2 hours attempting to reproduce the noises. I even went into an empty lot and did some mock "cone weaves" to see if I could torture the bloody car into cooperation! To no avail.
My RX 330 has 246,000 miles and just started making a squeaking noise in reverse only when cold. I was told it may be one of the CV joints and the only remedy is to replace the driveshaft.
Had to replace a driveshaft? Are there any aftermarket driveshafts for this model?
I just got a 01 passat the new body style got 197k on it and the suspension at front is making a squeaking noise like an old mattress, what that could be?
