How to remove the pad on the right side of the center console ? Have a very irritating squeak that has begun in the area. Appears to be the leather like materiel rubbing on the plastic upper part of the console.

View 2 RepliesI am 3 weeks into my 2014 ES300h, my first Lexus and first hybrid. I am hearing this odd rattling noise from the center console, it's almost like two wires touching. The noise comes mainly at low speeds and mostly what it seems like on the hybrid train.
I took it to the dealer who is saying they hear no noise or normal hybrid noise. Since this car is supposed to have a super quite cabin I am wondering if I am being taken for a ride (figuratively) .
I'm a rural mail carrier and have been looking for a Sport Trac for a work truck. It's size seems to be ideal. I recently found a 2002 model in excellent shape but it has that large console down the center that has an a/c duct in it for the back seat. For me to be able to use this truck, that would have to be completely removed.
Is this possible? I really need to know as that is the only deal breaker I have with this otherwise fine looking truck.
My wife spilled some Coke onto the center console and now the Drive mode select sticks and when its freezing outside the switch becomes frozen. Any step by step instructions? I want to clean it out.
View 6 RepliesThere is a buzzing vibration in my car over rough roads and it seems to occur only when it's warmer than about 50 degrees. I know that may seem odd but I've been paying attention to it for about 3 weeks. It only happens when the road is rough e.g. has a lot of cracks in it or has a lot of granite in it. The sound is like a bee. Now that it's colder here I notice that I can't hear it on the same roads when it's 50 degrees or lower. It's hard to pinpoint where the sound is coming from too. I know someone posted that a clip was loose from when they had tinting done but it seems my case would be different -- like something (nut and bolt?) is expanding and contracting. I'm not sure I want he dealership to take the car apart trying to find it. I can live with it but it is irritating as I often drive with the radio off and the car is silent and solid otherwise.

I have a 2013 Elantra GLS. I use a USB stick to listen to music. Sometimes it would reset the center console/radio if I leave the USB stick in, but this time it didn't turn back on.
View 5 RepliesHaving problems with center console not shutting properly? A few days ago out of the blue it would not shut, almost as though something was blocking it. If I push really hard it clicks shut but when I go to open it again it takes a lot of unusual force to open.
View 8 RepliesOk, I can live with little things like the drivers side pillar not being completed seated and flush, or the drivers seat rocking a little from time to time.
But the thing that annoys me the most is the center console armrest lid squeaking every time you lean against it. I drove 3 SFS's before I bought mine. All of them squeaked.
Any fix for this to stop it from squeaking? Besides going to the dealer and getting the run around.
To those who owns a 2013 Camry SE, when you're looking at the center console and below the A/C unit, there's a compartment with leather trimming around it, do you have a "gap" between the leather and the compartment?

View 8 RepliesI have a 2013 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew with the 'jump' seat in the middle. When I fold down the center seat, I hit my elbow while driving and turning.
I'm contemplating removing the center jump seat and replacing it with a Ford center console. Is it just a matter of removing the center jump seat bolts, then bolt in the new center console?

Having rattle on the right side of the center console? If so, did the dealership fix it or did you perform a DIY fix? The dealership said they tightened something a few weeks ago, which worked initially, but it is squeaking again. If I press against it with my hand (or have a passenger press their leg against it), the rattle goes away.
View 6 RepliesI have been getting a sound like a loud cpu fan on the driver's side of the console wall, just below the ignition port. Any other NAR cars have this problem? It will go away after awhile but will turn back on again.

How to remove the center console where the gear shift is? I need to get access to one of the audio connector under/near the gear shift. I am looking to add an audio auxiliary port.

Some are more aft towards the Instrument console and some are more back towards the rear seats.
I can definitely go ahead with all the screws and figure how to slide it back but just making sure if there was a quick few screws to adjust and also if I CAN adjust.
How to replace this light? I haven't found any threads on this as it seems like it's easily overlooked. The light bulb is located at the back of the center console box that lights up when opened. It's very dim and I have a few LEDs hanging around I'd like to replace it with.
View 5 RepliesI took apart the whole center console and then got to the harness which then I cut the speed sensor and then grounded the park brake bothe wires are violet/purple on the #59 harness which is the biggest harness on the back of the nav unit. It was working and everything was fine, I was ready to run wires for the double pole switch and then the DVD had no sound so then I tried several things and still didn't kick in so then I left it that way and waited till the morning and its like the DVD has a back up speed sensor that kicked in so when you come to a complete stop it works.
I know of another speed sensor 2 but that controls the nav so we dont mess with that wire.
Taking apart the car was easy 4 screws and 1.5million clips and snaps.
IS350 fsport. I have had the car for two weeks already and these sounds are driving me crazy. Its definitely coming from the center console area, I can even move it a bit and its makes the squeak sound. On bumps something like a little plastic pebble feels like it rattles. I went to lexus and they couldn't really do anything about it. They said its normal when two plastics come together to squeak.
