This worked in my '13, but in my '15 I can't customize the tip-down angle per the owner's manual. All you are supposed to do is adjust the mirror to the position you want it while in reverse; that position is supposed to be memorized. Not happening; next time I shift to reverse the mirror goes to the default position.

View 5 RepliesI noticed the other day that when i shift to R... the left and right rear view mirror pan out about 5 degrees in their respective direction. Normally when you shift to reverse the mirrors should tilt down. I have looked through all the settings and cannot find any customization options. How you can adjust the rear view mirrors to tilt down? I do not understand why they would pan out as it does nothing to assist you as you reverse.
View 7 RepliesI seem to be having a problem with my passenger side mirror and it's reverse function. I have a 2008 Passat Lux. I set the mirror reverse to 'on' in the MFD. I started the car, leave it in park and set up my seats and both mirrors. I press set and then 1 to memorize the positions and hear the chime. I then proceed to put the car into reverse, switch the remote mirror dial to 'R' and position it go down.
The problem I'm having is that the manual says that the passenger mirror will go to it's original set driving position if you go over 9mph (or something like that) or if you move the remote dial to something other then 'R'. But that's not the way it's working. It should ideally go back to the original position when you put the car in to drive (like my old 2002 Passat GLX did), but even when I drive off and go over the stated mph, the mirror doesn't go back to the driving position.
While I'm driving, I then turn the dial off the 'R' position, but it's still looking down....I honestly don't think that I set it incorrectly, but hopefully I am and I don't have to bring it in to service for just that. It's a convenient feature that I want to use. Don't want to curb rash my wheels by my sloppy parking or my wife's....
Any way to adjust how much the outside mirrors tilt down when the car is shifted into reverse? I have looked in the Owners Manual and I can't find anything that addresses this. I feel like there must be some adjustment since sometimes the mirrors tilt a lot and sometimes they tilt just a little.
I have tried shifting the car into reverse and letting the mirrors tilt and then adjusting the mirrors with the adjustment controls to the preferred tilt angle, but they didn't retain the memory and went back to the previous tilt settings.
Excellent feature since I park in the city along curbs all the time. I know you have to have the button lit in L or R for the feature to work. Initially, I only had to push L or R once and it would stay lit all the time, but just recently, I have to push L or R every single time I drive my car to use the feature. Just a minor inconvenience, but what did I do and how can I fix this so I don't have to push L or R every single time I drive my car to use this feature?
View 3 RepliesI notice that whenever I put the GX in reverse, the driver side view mirror doesn't come down all the way like the passenger side view mirror.
The driver side view mirror only tilt down half way and its bothering me. I try to play with it but its still behaving the same way. I read somewhere on a different thread where the dealer had to replace the motor...Hope that is not the case with me.

I have purchased a new 2013 XC60 and the seat and mirror memories associated with my keyless Personal Car Communicator (PCC) system are not working properly and the dealer is apparently at a loss as to how to fix it. What is even worse, Volvo's documentation on the capability is contradictory and no one from Volvo (including National Tech Support) is able to explain how it is supposed to work.
The total problem is much too complicated to explain here in detail, but basically the driver's seat and side rear view mirrors do not respond to the PCC (key fob) in a predictable manner. One time use of a particular PCC will result in the seat and mirrors going to one location, and the next time they will go to a different location. Use of the buttons on the PCC will produce one result and use of the keyless capability with the same PCC will produce a different result.
I have determined that the settings saved in the seat memory buttons (there are 3 of them) sometimes play a part in where the seat and mirrors go when the PCC is used despite the Volvo documentation insisting that these memories are separate from each other.
Volvo Tech Support insists that they have no history of problems in this area but discussions with other customers, and even some of the Volvo sales people, make it clear that I am not the only one experiencing these issues.
Although the memory settings would normally just be considered a convenience option, I have found the issue to be a safety concern. On more than one occasion I was on the road before realizing that my rear view mirrors were pointed off in space somewhere and I could not use them to make a safe lane change or other maneuver.
A side observation is that the computer based functions in the car appear sluggish and seem many times to operate with a lag. I know that this car contains almost two dozen processor modules and maybe this topic deserves a separate thread, but it is as if the communications network is very slow or the modules are slow in waking up. I'm wondering if this is involved with the unpredictable seat and mirror memory operation.
I would like to hear from others who have had or are having similar problems.
I have a 2013 KR F150 SC 4x4 and have owned it since new. This big snow/ice storm that just came thru NC is probably the first time I have tried to use the rear window and mirror defrost . It does not work nor will the light come on the sync display. i pressed the button on the hvac as well as on the sync. My son says there is a TSB on this. I have 40,000 miles and the warranty is out. Also, its too cold to check the fuse today.
View 9 RepliesI usually because mine was missing up a bit. My passenger side mirror when I put in reverse angles down adequately but my driver's side barely angles down? Searched forum and web and really couldn't find anything on it? Anyway to adjust the angle in reverse, I couldn't find anything in my manual at all either. I have it turned off now because it's virtually useless with the driver's side barely even angling down.
View 2 RepliesWhen I have the mirror tilt feature active for both mirrors(left switch position) the driver side mirror does not return to the preset position. The passenger side works fine but I have to manually reposition the driver side so I know it is not in the mechanism, it seems it is not sensing the transmission in drive but only on the driver side. How hard is it to replace the faulty sensor or whatever the failed part?

View 4 RepliesBacking out of garage this morning I brushed against the side and smashed a piece of plastic out of passenger side view mirror. Sent a picture to parts department of local Lexus dealer and quoted 304.80 for "special order" part + 300 for labor. This is an insane price for a non-functioning piece of plastic. Thoughts on best DIY way to proceed? I have the broken off plastic, but it does not sit flush in the assembly.
View 10 RepliesMy driver's side mirror started having problems adjusting. I first noticed when the mirror tries to reset from auto tilting when in reverse. It was go to a certain point and start clicking as if something was blocking it from resetting.
If you push it with your hand it makes a terrible sound but then it can be adjusted without issue. It sounds terrible and I don't want to make things worse so I disabled the auto-tilt function.
I recently upgraded from my '14 IS 250 to a '15 GS 350. So far I am loving the car except for one thing. When driving above 50mph, there is a very loud whistling/squeaking noise coming from the driver side mirror area that is driving me crazy when the window is open. If i close the mirrors, it goes away.
I plan to have the dealer look when i go for the 5k service.
I noticed when I got my CPO 2013 GS350 that the rear view mirror has some "give" - it feels a little loosely attached to the windshield and there is some play before the adjustment actually starts to engage. It also rattles sometimes with road vibration as a result. Is this the usual for GS350 or has mine come loose?
I noticed when I got an ES loaner vehicle that the mirror was firmly attached to the windshield.
I just bought an RX 330 recently and the mirror on the driver side is not working. Not even when I tried to do some minor adjustment to the mirror before I drive the car. I do not hear any motor running or any sound when I push on the mirror adjustment button (and yes, I did put the switch to the left). So does this mean the motor that controlling the mirror is out...or dead? Do I need to replace the motor or the whole mirror--the motor and frames as well? If I do need to replace this, does it considered as a "mechanical break down" since it's the motor that is failing?

2013 RX 350. Noticed the driver's side mirror vibrate or shake a lot more while driving on some bumpy roads and freeways?
Compared to the passenger side which is pretty stable and to a 2012 RX 350 which is stable too.
