Owning a 2015 GS F-Sport. (black/black). I finally changed the startup screen away from the default mpeg showing the dealership info. However, I would like to load a custom image.
I thought from reading the manual that I could simply plug in my iPhone and the image library would populate but no-go.
Do I need to transfer images to an SD card in a camera and connect the camera through USB?
Uploading a custom pic to the main start up screen yet? Tech told me that the picture file has to be in a specific folder so that the computer can recognize and pick it up somehow.
View 7 RepliesI can't get the NAV unit to read a jpg off a USB stick for the startup image. It read the stick for the shutdown image but always says it can't find a correct file (or something to that effect) when I try to load startup images. I set the USB stick up with the folders at the root level as per the manual.
View 5 RepliesI've been trying to change the opening image on the NAV from the Lexus to logo to a custom one but I had no luck, what I have done so far
New USB Fat 32 and fat 16
created a folder (Case Sensitive) : StartupImage
put couple of pictures (4 or 5) in it
2 of them less than 32 characters
2 of them exactly 32 characters (not counting extension)
saved as JPEG and JPG
files less than 5 mb each
and still no luck ,, it says could not find any pictures

I read that I can change the start up pics on my GS nav screen when starting the car. I like the default ones but would like to try something new. When I went to transfer my images in the directory, it asked if I really wanted to delete the existing ones. I was under the impression that what is default remains and that I can install new ones also. Does the default ones will be removed from car nav system?
View 5 RepliesHow to change the Toyota Logo that appears on the screen when you start the car? I know there is an option for that in the Settings menu toward the bottom. There is a preset Toyota logo and the user may add more or modify the current one. There is an option to extract from USB, but when I do it says failed.
My usb flash drive is formatted properly, and I do have pictures in there that I would like to put. However, it says to refer to the Toyota User Guide for picture information, but I cannot find it anywhere.
Perhaps my pictures are too big for the screen, so that is why?
At each car startup, after the navigation loads, it eventually settles on the map screen. Would prefer my personally adjusted home screen (the home button nearby the mouse) to just automatically appear on starting the vehicle. Is there a way to do this?

On the Nav. screen, when I switch my audio screen to the main screen from the side screen, it only stays on for a few seconds, and the map reappears on the main screen. Is there a way to lock the main screen to audio, and use the side screen for one of the other tasks?

View 1 RepliesI've owned Acura's for 15 years total and now own my first Lexus. Loving it so far. Just bought a used 2013 GS350 luxury package with only 12,000 miles believe it or not. Spectacular condition. Loving it so far after 4 days!
Quick condition, is there a way to permanently display the digital clock somewhere on the nav screen or is the analog clock the only option? Not a big deal, but prefer digital clocks.
I literally just picked up my 2013 GS 350 at the auction.
Right when I drove off with it, I plugged in my Iphone 5 and selected the ipod menu, and it loaded up all the music on my iphone. After some fiddling I got the bluetooth to work nice as well.
Then later in the day I plugged my Iphone in after work, and noticed that when I selected the "Ipod" on the audio menu, the screen where the songs are supposed to populate doesn't load up the songs. The screen is just blank, as if there was no ipod connected.
I test drove a 2013 RX450h this morning and almost decided to purchase it. The one problem I experienced was a dark area, about 1/3 of the nav screen on the driver's side with my sunglasses on. Taking the glasses off eliminated the problem. I tried a different pair of sunglasses and was able to duplicate the dark area. I am assuming this problem is caused by polarized lenses. I do not have the problem with my 2010 LS nor the 2013 GS350 I also tested.
View 14 RepliesThe start up messages take way too long to clear, during which time they obscure the top section of the backup camera? I first get "phone connection successful..." followed by "transfer complete". Between the two messages, the top 15-20% of the backup camera screen is obscured. And it's really that top sliver of the screen that allows you to see more than 4 feet behind the car. I suppose I should just be more patient, but 10 seconds (I've timed it) is an eternity to wait after starting the car before you can start backing out.
So I just back out as if I don't have a camera using my mirrors and looking over my shoulder (which I did for my previous 30 years of driving before getting my GS so I guess it's not THAT big of a deal). I just find it really annoying to put a backup camera in the car and then obscure it with messages. It's interesting that Lexus feels it's important to tell me that my phone has been connected for a full 10 seconds. It would be more interesting to know if I was about to back up into something.
I just picked up my gs 350 fsport. having fun.. noticed that when i plug in my ipad to the usb port it recognizes it as an ipod. but.. here is the question.. it will play sound of music files no problem and but on the videos it only plays sound and give a message that device not video or something similar to that. Does that mean that some devices can be input through the usb to play video?

I have followed the directions but so far nothing transfers. The other iPhone features appear to be working fine. I have activated "send Notifications."
