Jan 12, 2016
Is there to keep the car on an particular mode all the time? I prefer driving on Sport mode but everytime I restart the car; it defaults to normal mode.

View 2 RepliesI had my navigation system reboot yesterday and since then, when the headlights go on, the navigation screen dims rather than stay in daytime mode (brighter). How to keep the navigation screen on daytime when headlights go on?
View 6 RepliesThis is new to my wife and I and I can't seem to keep the LED's on while driving during the day? I have the stalk set to AUTO and during the day time nothing is on and we want the LED's on during the day. They will come on when I manually turn on the headlamps. I'm sure it's some setting.
View 2 RepliesNoticed that the clock speeds up all on its own. I will set it correctly and then within a weeks time it will be minutes faster.
View 14 RepliesThe Volt has a mode called "mountain" that keeps the battery at least 40% full at all times. Does the Prius Plugin have a mode to keep its EV-mode battery a minimum percentage?
View 19 RepliesWhen I drive the PiP in EV Boost mode, the gas engine rpm stays very low, so is the engine sound. It sounds like it is just idling since it revs at 1,000 rpm.
When I am going 75 mph, the engine revs at very low rpm and I had a hard time keeping it below 80 mph. My mind is tricked into believing I am going slower than the actual speed. I think I am using the sound of the engine to judge the speed or something.
It felt like I am driving a different car, one with two more cylinders.
EV Boost is when you are in EV and go above 65 mph. ICE comes on and blend gas with electricity.
Is it just me? What are your experience in the EV Boost / Blended mode?
I'm having an issue with my Nav system. I'm not sure if its going out or if it's due to the cold weather but it doesn't immediately come on when I start the car. At some point while I'm driving I'll notice that it's on and working but it seems to also be intermittently switching between the day and night time screen mode. How to check to determine if it needs to be replaced or if there is a fix?
View 4 RepliesI was t-boned at an intersection, (I had a green light) My car was hit by the rear door and part of my wheel rim was broken off. The tire is keeping the air. We are also going to have a guy from the other driver's insurance coming to check out my car, I want to be sure my car is safe, he might want to get repairs done as cheaply as possible.
It's a Chevy Malibu 2013(I'm not driving it btw)
Right now it doesn't chance background shade when at night time, it always stays white.
How to change so that it automatically changes to black when in night time ?
So in one of the owner's manuals, Lexus states that use of EV mode does NOT increase overall mileage. I was surprised by that. If this is the case why have it? I have been using EV mode after I get off the freeway and drive a couple of miles through our subdivision. I deplete the battery almost completely (2 bars) but make it into the garage. Will this damage the traction battery and should this not improve the mileage. The engine runs in the morning anyway to warm up and the battery charges up then. I am just wondering how others use the EV mode.
View 9 RepliesI noticed yesterday that each time I turned the car on it would automatically be set in EcoMode. I thought our cars start in normal mode because of epa mpg testing purposes. I'm not complaining just wondering how this happened on its own since I've read on this site that the GS starts on normal. I have a '15 model.
View 1 RepliesJust curious if we can change selections for driving mode when a car is in motion or it has to stop to switch between them?
View 8 RepliesSo one of my favorite little details is how the dash display switches from blue to red in Sport/Sport+ mode.
I was driving around today and noticed that when I pressed on the accelerator, the blue light would dim down to dark. I didn't notice it earlier and am wondering if it happens for other people?
I just traded in my 14 IS 350 for 13 GS 350. In my IS, while i'm driving at any speed and change mode from Normal to Sport, i can see the RPM change higher instantaneously. But in 13 GS 350, nothing happens in RPM gauge. Is the 6 and 8 transmission different here ?
View 14 RepliesExperience a jolting front-to-back vibration when your ES 300h restarts the internal combustion engine when idling off the NiMH battery pack?
This only occurs when I am parked with the parking brake set, idling with accessories running in EV Mode. The heater or A/C setting causes EV Mode to deactivate and the ICE to restart. The issue is that this is an very rough engine restart that causes the car to visibly shudder in its parking spot front-to-back.
ICE restarts during normal driving or leaving a stop light or stop sign are so smooth for me they are almost impossible to notice.
I just bought a 2013 model RX350 about two weeks ago.
I am wondering why does my car default to 4th gear even at a stop when put into Selectable Gear Mode; I would think it should be in '1'. Is this a faulty vehicle requiring some fix?
In other brand vehicles I have driven, shifting into S-mode at standstill puts it in '1'. At highway speeds, it would be '6' and at intermediate speeds it will be some number in between. I can then upshift and downshift from that number as I would change gears in a manual drive car.
Is that kind of "manual simulated" driving feasible or advisable in the RX350 with the default 4th gear behavior? I have not dared to try starting from the '4th gear' for fear of ruining anything.
So the blue light indicating eco mode on the dash has become permanent despite turning to sport, or normal mode. Bought it used a few months ago but could have sworn it would turn red for sport when I first brought it home. Have tried just about everything short of unplugging the battery. I can't imagine the red light would be burnt out already and the blue light should not stay on when I change to normal mode either. Maybe my car is trying to tell me to always stay in eco...since I did come from a corolla
View 5 RepliesI just got my first Lexus (2013 GS350) ... I noticed an issue with connecting iPhone for bluetooth audio streaming / if there are any fixes for this. I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.3 that connects when the car turns on. However, sometimes when I switch modes to BT audio from say, FM radio, it'll say "Portable audio player connected" and my phone lock screen as well as the navi screen will show that the music is playing, but no audio is coming out of the car speakers. If I turn off the audio system and turn it back on, the music will play. I can also pause the audio on the navi screen then hit play and it will play. Pause then play on the phone does nothing.
View 1 RepliesI have ES 350 2016 with navigation. When you start a car, the screen always defaults to navigation mode. You must press HOME button to get home screen. Is there any way to change the default, so it always starts with the home screen ?
View 14 RepliesMy GS350 barely has 20k miles and started doing this recently. When I would have the fan in "circulate air" mode and blower on highest, the blower makes a very loud buzzing noise and strong vibration. The blower is on the passenger side next to the glove box. When the air is pass through it does not do this.
View 10 RepliesSteering wheel will turn about 35 degrees left or right when one side of the street is uneven and you take your hands off the wheel ? I guess I haven't noticed it much in these 3 months because I am always in Sport mode, which stiffens the wheels as we all know, but today as i was driving in Normal, I was on a street that kind of tapered to the right on an approx. 5 degree angle and the wheel turn itself pretty dramatically. I corrected my path and it would shoot right soon as i took my hand off the wheel. Its definitely not an alignment issue because its straight like an arrow. And all tires have 33 psi cold. Then i noticed again on the freeway, i know its uneven pavement but the amount the wheel turns is pretty substantial.
Also, when you make a 90 degree turn the steering wheel doesn't really retract itself back too good, you kind of have guide it back. But putting it in Sport mode fixes all that. Besides that i love the steering, you can take turns at ridiculous speeds (not that i do ) and it eats the the turn right up, no problem, and you dont even break a sweat. The car is phenomenally well balanced. Love the GS
