How do I turn the rear ac vents on? Can't figure this out at all!

View 1 RepliesI haven't been needing the A/C til recently due to the heat. When I have passengers in the rear and the A/C is set to just be body flow ( vs. body and feet), the rear blows but is noticeably weaker than the front. When I set it to both body and feet, the rear vents don't have any body flow and it is the same flow as when the rear is just set to feet. I went thru the manual and there doesn't appear to be anything incorrect (I am not in S mode) but the rear is just very weak in general with the controls on full.
View 5 RepliesSo I've been noticing this winter that pretty much after every cold start a weird smell comes through the vents. To me it smells like natural gas, like the type found in some gas heating systems. It tends to go away after about 10mins. It may have also faded in and out once or twice when the car was running for an extended period of time.
View 14 RepliesI bought a new 2013 ES 300h. It only has 7K miles on it. When I first start it up for the day there is a moldy smell coming out of the vents for a few minutes. I've not taken it through any deep water.
Does it just need some new vent filters? What filters would be involved?
Getting a sour, moldy, or musty smell when the car starts and the air is pushed out the front vents. I know its getting hot and humid here in midwest but kind of started before and smell got gradually worst with humidity. It goes away in like 15 seconds but its a pain to have a new/used care and it smell like a 16 year boy when you start up. Though the AC filter might be moldy or has some funk on it.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2013 Avalon hybrid that is almost 1 yr old.
I have recently notice a single "pop" noise that seems to be coming from the rear when I turn right with a sharp turn.
I have looked in the trunk and under the vehicle but I cannot find where it is coming from.
How to remove the rear air vents in the center console? The black directional piece that adjusts the air left-right, has fallen into the vent so I need to remove the outer vent to put it back in place.
View 3 RepliesI was driving home today and randomly thought to open the vents in the b pillars and noticed that neither rear vents were flowing any air. I opened and close them and I tried every mode on the AC, and even tried turning the rear vents from the arm rest to the back seat off. Any clue as to what the deal is?? I just cant imagine what the issue is. I have never used the vents in three years of ownership but would like to think that I have the option.
View 3 RepliesThe rear roof vents on my wife's GX470 only blows (non-cold) air, even though the rear controls are set for the coldest setting and the front is blowing ice cold. There are no error messages.
It's clear the rear is not working properly, yet there are no error messages.
Yesterday my rear driver side turn signal just stopped working on my 2013 elantra. I replaced the bulb and it still isnt working. The front driver side turn signal is flashing at hyper speed.
The passenger side front and back turn signals work fine. Im planning on bringing my car into tomorrow for an oil change and to get this checked out hopefully it isnt an expensive fix.
On my since returned 14 GS and now on my 16 GS, why is there no button to turn the A/C on and off? I have to go into the Climate controls to turn it on and off. Am I missing something?
View 10 RepliesHow to turn off AC without going to MENU - Climate - move cursor down to "AC" and click it off. (3 steps)
How to this in less steps? i find it a real hassle. most cars have "AC on or OFF button"
When I turn on the rear wiper there is a clicking sound that comes from the front dash. (click...click... ever time the wiper goes up/down)
I could have sworn I have never heard this noise before (and it is noticeable), but the dealer says it is the relay and it is normal.
I only bring this up because in the Ford I have as a rental while the Elantra is fix makes no noise when you use the rear wiper.
Recently had small body work done on our 2013 ES-350. Apparently (I'm assuming), they disabled the battery at some point and then activated it as almost all of my hard-learned and requested settings were gone! So, just realized that our interior overhead lights do not come on automatically in the car as we enter it at night.
Also, have always noticed that when we want the heater to come on, it seems like it takes at least 5 min. or so before warm air is felt. in our old Jeep, takes 30 seconds! Usually activate it by raising the temp up with the up/down arrows. Seems like if I turn on the window defroster setting, warm air comes out rather quickly from there but not when we want warm air from the dash vents.
Also, as an OMG - when trying to find the above info, came across the instructions that there is a trunk button that I can use to open it up. Have always had to go thru the trouble of pulling out my key fob, not realizing this - geesh, only took two years to find this out!!
Now I'm wondering if there are other features that were turned off that we're not aware of. In fact, does it make sense that all the settings should have been disengaged like that for a door repair - is it possible they didn't remove the battery but something else occurred to have lost all the settings?
I have been searching the web and can't seem to find any information on replacing the turn signal halogens with LEDs on the 2013 ES350. Is there a hyper-flash issue? The Lexus LED Flasher Turn Signal Relay (81980-50030) doesn't appear to be compatible with the 2013 model. I don't really want to go the resistor route, am I missing something? I would like to install VLEDs Platinum 21 Amber(Front) and Red(Rear).
View 14 RepliesOnly have had the car for a couple of weeks. One problem that I have is that I don't know how to turn off the nav once the address has been entered and navigation started. My family changes their mind all the time and wants to go some some other destination in the middle of a trip. Unless a new destination is put in the nav keeps directing to the previous destination. How does one just simply turn it off?
View 1 RepliesNew owner of 13 F Sport. I heard this noise about a week ago and when I went into the garage it was doing it again. The car has been off for about 5 hours, so not sure why it would be making a noise like something is running? The noise is coming from the rear of the car only.
View 5 RepliesThere is 68F outside and I wanted to heat up inside to 78F inside. But the climate control shows me the AC is ON as soon as I turn the fan ON. Why is that? Is the AC really turning on and stays on?
I noticed, because the air from the center vent wasn't particularly warm and the cabin didn't get warm as fast as I would expect. In other cars I would just turn the heat ON max and gradually turn it back, but it is not what I am observing here. I feel the hot air coming from the left vent only - the one next to driver door, but the center vents are barely warm. So I have 2 question here really.
1. Why is the AC indicator on climate control window showing the AC is ON when I am using the heater?
2. Is the AC turning ON always with that indicator turning ON?
The light came on at 5,000 miles. It's not for an oil change, it's for a tire rotation. Looking for step-by-step instructions on how to turn off/remove that light? 2013 ES350
View 14 RepliesI recently purchased a 2013 LS460 and I'm alhaving issues with my lights turning off.
When on Auto.. Lights turn off after pressing the Lock 2x.
When on On position or parking lights position and I press the lock button twice, it will not turn off. I mean it will stay on for a while.
Check the delay headlight setting in the menu options and it's set at 30 seconds.
Took my car back to Lexus and told them my issue I was having...and they still couldn't figure it out.
So when I press auto(physical button) and have my temp at HI or 85, it turns on the AC as well. Why this is? I thought auto was supposed to adjust everything to get it to that temp. AC is also on when I hit the front defrost(physical button).
This is on a 2013 Premium with rear seat controls, and S Flow and 3 Zone is off, if that makes a difference. Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere, I'm still pretty new to all this coming from a 99 GS 300!
