I have a 2013 GS350 thats lowered on Tanabe Springs and 20s. It looks nice but the only problem i have is rubbing against the plastic (that what it sounds like) lining in the fender well. This only happens when I make a quick left turn or U turn. The tire size is 245/35/20.
View 5 RepliesI just put some toyo at2 295.75.16. On my 04 250. And I've got some rubbing on the plastic and front leaf springs. If a 2.5 " spring left will take care of the rubbing or will I need wheel spacers.
View 3 RepliesI took my car in the other day for 4 new tires at 8am I drive home 2 miles from the place. I work nights so I sleep all day. As I was going to work at 11pm I noticed it sounded like the front drivers side tire was rubbing up against the car when I turn the wheel from left to right. I took it back to the place I got the tires from. I thought something might be adjusted wrong or something. They call me to tell me that the tires are fine and the problem is that I need a new power steering pump. There was no noise or steering problem previous to me getting the tires.
I took it to pep boys (the only place open last night). They say the pump needs to be replaced along with racks and pinions..etc. I ask if the leak can be slowed or stopped with one of those stop leak products and they say no. The fluid just drains right out. Is there something the guy that put my tires on could have messed up to cause this problem?
I spent a lot for the tires and within 5-10 miles later this problem starts. The car has over 250000 miles on it and I cant justify spending that much money to repair it but at the same time Im in a bind financially (medical bills, divorce) to get another car right now. I realize even if they did mess it up when they put the tires on, they wont admit to it anyway.
I just recently dropped my car on BC racing coilovers 16k fronk and 14k rear. I am having slight rubbing issues in the Front only. For everyone that's dropped on coils, if you were rubbing what did you do? I currently have my dampening set on 16/32. The rubbing is actually only on my front fender liners. I love the comfort with 16/32 and don't want to turn it up stiffer and I don't want to raise it up too much. I was told to raise it, turn up stiffness or heat up fender liner and push it up or in a bit. Also for the rear since its 2 piece suspension, to raise or lower the rear 1/2 inch would you adjust the height on the BC struts or the BC springs (the one that's sitting in the bucket)? A shop installed mine and I've only owned 1pc rear suspension for my other cars.

This happens only going over about 40-50 and only when i turn the steering wheel like an inch to the left. To better clarify it doesn't rub while turning left going down a slope.
View 2 RepliesSo I have an 06 mercury mountaineer it was making a rubbing noise from the rear left tire area so I replaced the bearing took the merc for a test drive and as soon as I applied pressure to the accelerator the TCS kicked off all power and it left like the brakes on the front left engaged (accompanied by some nasty grinding noises). I have taken it apart replaced the hub assembly and the cv axle, nothing looks to be out of place and everything is clean I cant think of anything else it could be..
View 5 RepliesI have 2013 es350. As I am hearing voice from front tire in the pickup time seems traction control system is not working. Also no difference between trc on and off in both case,you will hear the voice which means the system can not control tire spinning.
View 12 RepliesAny 1 have their tire that have uneven tire wear? Mines is Dunlop and my front right tire has uneven wear on the outer thread. All other tire don't have uneven wear. I'm getting new tire for all 4 rims and check my alignment. My gs is a f sport rwd.
View 3 RepliesMy 2013 ES350 is 3 months old, treated like a baby, and today I noticed paint peeling on the left front rim in two places (white areas on photo below). I never hit a curb (or anything else), and there is no dent or scratch associated with this.

View 4 RepliesI have 2007 F-150. I left for Iraq for two weeks and one of my kids borrowed my truck. When I got back, I drove the truck and have noise like the tire is rubbing something. I can't find anything hitting the tire. When you turn left, it makes the noise, when you turn right, it doesn't. If you drive straight and hit a bump it sounds like it rubs loader as you bounce. I had a mechanic look at it and he says that he couldn't see anything. I've had the front end aligned and it still makes the noise. I'm at a loss for an answer. The truck handles fine it is just very annoying and I want it stopped!
View 7 RepliesJust put on new wheels 19x8.5 all around on 235/35/19s. Figured to have no issues, not super low or anything. Passenger side front tire is rubbing on the inside well pretty good. Not on fenders as far as I can tell, just the actual inside of the wheel well. Fender liner is already out on that side as well. Not a thing on drivers side though, and the liner is still in. Thinking maybe just need an alignment.
View 4 RepliesMy 2015 Gs 350 F sport started making grinding noise from the front passanger side wheel. The noise comes from driving and not braking so im assuming its not the brake pads and its not squeaking noises as a worn out brake will sound.
View 14 RepliesI recently got a set of staggered IS 350 wheels, and while I realize it's not ideal , my father wants to know if they will fit his 2012 ES350 ? The front tires I'm having put on are 225 / 45 / 18, but the tears are still good and are 255 / 40 / 18. Will the 255 fit in the back without rubbing issues.
So, I just went ahead and put the wheel on. The stats are 18x8.5, +45 offset, and 255/40/18.
Initially the tire rubbed while driving, the wheel was able to rotate, but not without the rotating rub noise against the strut. So then I put on a 5mm spacer I had and it was perfect.
When I'm driving low speeds...say under 40. there is a random but frequent rubbing sound coming from the front passenger tire. Previous my driver side coil over blew out and it was replaced by VW and they raised the car. After about a week i noticed the sound. The car also shakes between 55 and 65...so i'm assuming it's a balancing issue. But can't figure out what the rubbing is....ball bearing maybe?
View 5 RepliesBefore I take my 3 month old T2 in for service AGAIN this Saturday. The more informed I am when I walk up to the service counter, the better.
When I make a hard left turn (more than 90 degrees), I now hear a sound from the front left wheel area. It sounds sort of like the sound a plane makes when flying overhead. It's sort of like something is rubbing.
This started all of a sudden last Thursday. I thought it would go away. It doesn't sound normal and it doesn't happen when I turn right. It doesn't affect my steering. I don't recall hitting anything (note I sait recall).
Obviously, I got out of the truck and examined the entire area but I don't see anything unusual. I drove around in circles with my head out the window trying to figure this out.
Another 5k miles and the maintenance required light has come on. The 300h wants its tires rotated. I don't want to take it into the dealer just for that. Which tire goes where in a Lexus rotation? Also how to make sure the tire monitoring system knows the tire location has changed? I can move the tires around myself but don't know how to reset the tire monitoring system to the new tire location.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2000 Excursion 2wd. The left front wheel or something up front is making a rubbing sound when I turn to the right. Checked the brakes, they looked fine. Pulled front rotor off and replaced the wheel bearing just incase. Still making that same noise? I can't see any sign of something rubbing either on the frame, brakes lines, or control bars?
View 3 RepliesI've been having a lot of noise coming from the front left tire, and I finally had it diagnosed as a bad wheel bearing today.
I noticed that the front wheel bearings are sold individually while the rear wheel bearings are sold as hub assemblies. Is there a certain way that the front wheel bearings have to be removed and pressed on? I'm trying to see if this is a DIY repair.
I noticed yesterday that my tire on the driver's side has rubbed a flat spot on the rubber brake hose. I bent the metal tubing so that it doesn't rub any more, but should this be of great concern? Obviously I'd hate for it to rupture, but it looks as though it's not too bad.

Lowered on HKS Max IV GT
Really want to keep the lowered look and in fact I want to lower the rear 5mm more. Thinking of changing to 255 in place of the 265 for the rear.
