Getting excessive vibration coming from the top of the glove box panel and also from the passenger seat? I took it to the dealer because it was making a vibration noise, but they fixed the noise, but the vibration continues. What it might be?
View 5 RepliesSo, I think the glovebox lid, with the integrated air bag, is too heavy. My dash squeak around the glove box, particularly near the latch. I think the lid is too heavy and pulls on the latch, and this is causing some of the adhesive behind the trim to squeak. The noise stops if I (or the passenger) pushes on the area or if I open the glove box.
View 5 RepliesI've had the GX for a few months now and love it. Over the past couple of weeks I've started to notice a rattle coming from the glove compartment. Its not something inside as i can get it to stop if I apply a little pressure. How to fix other than some weather stripping? I have it in for the 70k maintenance next week and may try to see if they will fix it under CPO warranty.

View 8 RepliesI have a 2010 LS 460 Sport and recently noticed that there is a faint water sound coming from behind the glove box every time I accelerate from standstill and sometimes when the car is idle and the A/C is on. My initial thinking was that it is some sort of a clog in the A/C drain, and that's what I told my service supervisor at the most recent service at a Lexus dealership. They said that they could not find anything except for a bit of debris in the A/C drain, which they blew out, however the noise is still there. The best way that I can describe the noise is that it's similar to a noise that a rainstick makes.
View 3 Replies06 GS430 has started making this loud clicking noise when we start the car ... not all the time but very often ... it almost sounds like a jackhammer and is extremely loud. Goes on for a good 20-30 seconds then goes away.
The location sounds like it is coming from the glove box area but not really behind it, more below and behind it..
Having issue on RC where the door panel speakers cause a vibrating / buzzing noise within the door panel at certain frequencies? I'm not talking loud either. It is intermittent. If a put the slightest bit of pressure on the panel, the noise disappears. Sounds to me like the sound waves are causing a wire or something small to vibrate within the door panel. The speaker itself it fine.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2011 RX350 and recently noticed rattling sound coming from inside the glove compartment.
I think it comes from the plastic cover of the aircon filter at the back of the glove compartment. This cover seems bit loose even when installed back properly and the vibration (especially when driving over uneven roads) is causing the rattling sound.
I know it's a minor problem but the rattling sound can get irritating at times. My temporary fix is to push back the heavy owner's manual on that cover to prevent vibration.
Noticed the lights on instrument panel dimming as you accelerate? I'm talking about the very top of the instrument panel located above the speedometer. I'm driving home from work last night and as I accelerate I notice the blue tint light at the top of the instrument panel dims... let off the accelerator and the light brightens back up... switched the car over to "sport" and give it the gas... light remains constant, no dimming what so ever... switched back to "normal".. give it a little gas and the blue light at the top of the panel dims.... car seems to be running absolutely fine, no issues that I'm aware of... but I've never noticed this before.... and curious as to why it only dims when the car is in " normal ", but not when it's in "sport" mode and the light on the dash is red....
View 7 RepliesJust purchased a new 2015 and it came with the cargo net option. The net stores in a bag that is anchored to the rear trunk wall. When I try to access the spare tire I can't lift the floor panel that covers the well. The cargo bag overlaps the solid floor panel and won't let it lift. I tried removing the net from the bag to make the bag more flexible but it still blocks any attempt to lift the trunk floor panel.
There must be a way to do this and I'm just too dumb to see it right now. I was able to finally lift the panel with a combination of tucking, twisting, and cursing my way through it. Surely I'm overlooking something obvious?
If the cargo net bag would just unclip then the problem would be solved. But it appears to be screwed into place.
For three days, my 2013 Prius has suddenly started to vibrate after coming to a complete stop. I feel the vibration in floor boards mostly and a little on the brake pedal. Oddly, I only feel the vibration on my way home from work ( summer heat maybe??).

The car has 5000 mikes on it now and today when cleaning the car, I noticed (hard to believe but true) 3 separate rust spots coming through the finish on the back hatch panel. I know I need to contact the dealer, but should I be screaming for a new body panel or just accept the fact the my new car has to be repainted? This is the 4th RX I have had. Never ever had a problem before.

View 11 RepliesI bought 2015 Sonata SE, it was produced in April of 2015. It drives nice and overall its OK but it has an excessive vibration that gives me a headache. When stopped at light/traffic with AC on it feels as if I was sitting in a vibrating massage chair. The steering wheel and seat vibrates. When I shut off AC it vibrates less but still seems to be vibrating too much. I know that 4 cylinder will vibrate some but I did not expect getting a massage while sitting in the car. It does not vibrate while driving, just in idle.
I am so unhappy with it that I am ready to trade cars with my DH who drives 10 year old Accord with manual transmission that vibrates less than my brand new car. What do I do? I will be taking it to the dealer but would like to go prepared and educated. I did see some posts about ECU and TSU updates (whatever that means) but it seems that it applied to cars manufactured in 2014?
My 2008 Passat vibrates excessively anytime I am accelerating once above 40mph. Done balancing severally and bought new tyres yet problem is not abating. What else can I do?

View 2 RepliesThe glove box on my wife's '13 elantra keeps popping open. I guess the little plastic latch that keeps it up is not going into the hole far enough when it's closed, so after a while it slides out.
Would rather avoid a trip to the dealer (not even sure if it would be covered under warranty anymore, the car is over 3 years old).
When closing my glove box, it will open back out. That's if I slap it on and let go. I noticed that there are 2 notches sliding out of the glove box. If I push them in by hand, they slide out slowly. So I tried to close the glove box and keep my hand on it for a couple of seconds for the notches to slide. It stays closed this way. I'm suspecting this is tied to the cold weather we're having lately. I hope I don't have to take it apart to re-lube it or anything like that.
View 2 RepliesWe bought our beautiful ES350 back in May and we love most everything about the car. However I have noticed a fairly pronounced vibration at idle while in gear. I thought it may get better with mileage, but it has not. We are at 2500 miles now. I have seen posts with the previous gen ES about this, but not for the 2013. Just noticed a vibration especially from the steering wheel at idle in drive. I plan on mentioning it on our first service visit which is coming up in another 2500 miles.
View 14 RepliesI am having with our 2010 Santa Fe GLS (2.4L). Whenever I am stopped and in gear, I have an excessive about of engine vibration IMHO, my wife thinks not, but it just doesn't feel right to me. I can feel it in the seat and people sitting in the passenger side and in the back can also feel it. If I bump into neutral or am accelerating, the vibration goes away. I have no issues with hesitation or loss of power and no other issues/check engine light, etc. This has been happening since we purchased the vehicle, and I mentioned it to the dealer and was given the response that the engine needed sufficient time to be broken in...... I now have 15,000 miles and it still is an issue.
