This is how to clear the VSC, ECB light... I just did it my 06 GS430 after changing my brake pad and the lights came on.
If the code is able to be cleared, jumper connectors TC and EG (PINS 13 and 4)at the DLC 3 and press the brake 8+ times in 5 seconds. The pic and description below is just for reference and not the pins you need!
A little over a week ago I had my battery go low and set off several brake warning lights on the dashboard. I have a very trusted mechanic and had him look it over. There were no issues whatsoever with the braking system and the lights simply occurred due to a drop in battery voltage. My question would be how to clear the lights. I have seen various people use something called a techstream and was wondering if this would be viable in my situation. If so what is the most updated version of the tech stream as well as a possible tutorial. Below for reference is a picture of the lights that were set off on the dashboard(circled). The dash isn't mine just one that I found but the four lights in question are the same.

View 4 RepliesI foolishly changed out my driver side wheel hub (bearing was grinding) without disconnecting the battery and now have the ABS, AFS and VSC lights on. Disconnecting the battery overnight did not work. Going on the premise that the sensor on the new hub is good, does this need the dealer or someone with Techstream to reset?

View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 GS 430, 126,000 miles. Initially I had one faulty headlight that would not work but after turning the switch off/on, it would work again. Eventually both headlights started malfunctioning. After reading other forums, we elected to change the headlight bulbs. So far that has worked. However, after changing the bulbs, the VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) and check engine lights came on. After running the headlights and using the car to go to/from work with about 4 stops and restarts, the car reset itself and the warning lights turned off. Scared me at first because I had also just had suspension work done. However, the Headlamp Level Control System is part of the VSC system, which makes sense, just wasn't prepared for the warning lights.
View 1 Repliesso I just installed a set of sportline seats and after the fact I have a parking brake light (no auto hold) and airbag light on. After checking fault codes in vag, I have determined that both these lights are due to the air bags.
My question is this, can I add resistors to the airbag wires in the new seats to trick the car into thinking that these are the old airbags? Everything else except memory works on the seats, just these damn airbag/parking brake lights.
My 2010 Elantra sedan had an accident, the airbag and driver side seat belt was deployed. And the airbag light is on after that, beside the Hood and the headlight panel is curved, nothing is wrong. The people is also safe.
I bought an airbag and replaced it, and went to a body shop to clear airbag signal. That guy said my seatbelt was still need to be replaced, since he can only clear one signal, there was another signal there.
Several days later, I bought a seat belt and replaced it, and wen to him again. He said there is no signal there, but the airbag light is still on, there should be something wrong somewhere.
My hood is still cured, but nothing is wrong with it. What can I do? The signal doesn't bother me, but I think it cannot pass the inspection.
Is there a way to reset or clear the navigation system and the radio presets? I want to remove the navigation history and reset the "home" designation.
View 1 RepliesOn the edge of the rear door and spots around the rear tire I have this clear film on the car. The one on the back door is triangle shape so I'm thinking this is not a mistake on my dealers part to remove it during delivery.

And yes: in the settings page I have unchecked the box for that warning (it is supposed to keep you from playing with the nav system while driving.)

I Have blisters in the clear coat of the steering wheel. Two have opened and the clear coat has started peeling off.

So I noticed a couple of weird patches on my mothers 2006 Silver Camry. After about a couple of month(s) it looks like clearcoat failure. My mom is the first owner and bought it brand new. The car has 90k miles.
View 14 RepliesWhen I 1st brought the car the original brakes and rotors squeak, I really didn't mind bcuz I had plans on changing them, now I installed the aftermarket slot/drilled rotors with new ceramic brake pads, and I still get squeaking from the front brakes, weather it's wet or dry, cold or warm they squeak, what I can do to stop this?
View 5 RepliesI have a grinding noise coming from what I believe are the front brakes. It happens when I apply the brakes and sounds like the brake pad is worn out and there's metal-on-metal contact but when I checked the pads, they are at 80-90% (rears have about the same amount left). I hear it the loudest just before coming to a full stop, from about 20 mph down to stop. I thought it was caused by rust on the brakes but after I wore off the rust, the sound is still there.
View 14 Replieswhen i initially purchased "used " my 08 gs350 i had a problem with brake squeal. I kept taking it in to the dealer until they ended up changing front rotors , all 4 pads , and new shims .
Took my car into my usual mechanic to get an oil change. I knew i needed brake pads and he changed all four pads out for $350 .I am having a terrible time with brake squeal now. the mechanic is telling me that i have warped rotors and need to replace all four. He is telling me that he wont charge me labor, but the parts will cost $400.00 I goggled the cost of the parts and he isnt far off on the price . My concern is that his fix isnt the correct fix. Front what i can tell its the front rotors making all the racket.
What should i do ??I dont know if they re-installed the shims and have no idea what kind of pads were used . Thinking about taking it to the dealership and being done with it .
