One of the brackets that connects the tray inside the center console is broken. I wanted to order the part but I only see the inside tray available to buy, not the brackets. I was wondering if I ordered the tray, will the brackets come with it? I don't want to order the tray and then it turns out no brackets, then I'll be stuck with an extra tray. The closest part number I see on Sewell is Part # 58801E.

View 3 RepliesHow to replace this light? I haven't found any threads on this as it seems like it's easily overlooked. The light bulb is located at the back of the center console box that lights up when opened. It's very dim and I have a few LEDs hanging around I'd like to replace it with.

View 2 RepliesTheres a loud rattling noise coming from somewhere inside the center console, where the shift lever is, that's annoying as hell! Sounds like a metal ball bearing bouncing around against other metal pieces. I put my fingers down there and touched everything I could to try to stop the rattling but I couldn't. I did not remove the foam insulation.

View 4 RepliesThe cigarette lighter adapter inside the center console of my 2010 Prius (next to the USB/iPod and AUX plugs) does not appear to be working, although the adapter underneath the gear shifter works fine. A few weeks ago, I found some coins, which I keep inside that center console that had gotten wedged inside the cigarette lighter adapter cavity. It was after removal of those coins that I first learned that the adapter was not working (I tried a few different devices to make sure that it was the adapter itself not working).
From reading the web, it sounds like the fix may be as simple as replacing the fuse. From what I understand, the fuse is just above the emergency parking brake. If so, where do I purchase a new fuse and how much does a new fuse cost? Also, how do I know which fuse needs replacing? Is that in the instruction manual?
I drive a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The car has had some electrical problems going back about a year and a few months that I have neglected to fix. The first problem was with the shifter not being able to move out of park without hitting the button inside the center console to do a shift lock override, which started last August.
The second problem was with the ignition not being able to release the key without hitting a switch inside the ignition, which started back in the Spring. I have just been rolling along promising to eventually address those, but yesterday the car radio stopped functioning. Then this morning the car would not start.
The electrical system comes on just fine (save the radio), but when I go to start it the car just clicks over. I did not leave any lights or switches on, so I am assuming it must be some sort of problem with the electrical system.
When opening the center console at night, it is obviously pitch dark in there. I know that I could turn on the dome light, but 1. i'm lazy and 2. that still does not offer a whole lot of light.
I want something that will come on when I open the lid, and then go off when I close it. I do not really want anything on a switch. So i'm thinking about setting something up like the glove box with the thing that pushes in and the light goes out, you all know what i'm talking about. I would not think it would be too hard to wire up.
I was poking around the center console and noticed that there seems to be a pretty big gap difference where the console meets the dashboard than I would expect on a Lexus:

How to remove the center console where the gear shift is? I need to get access to one of the audio connector under/near the gear shift. I am looking to add an audio auxiliary port.

Through looking at pictures, Ive noticed RX's with different center console positions.
Some are more aft towards the Instrument console and some are more back towards the rear seats.
I can definitely go ahead with all the screws and figure how to slide it back but just making sure if there was a quick few screws to adjust and also if I CAN adjust.
I took apart the whole center console and then got to the harness which then I cut the speed sensor and then grounded the park brake bothe wires are violet/purple on the #59 harness which is the biggest harness on the back of the nav unit. It was working and everything was fine, I was ready to run wires for the double pole switch and then the DVD had no sound so then I tried several things and still didn't kick in so then I left it that way and waited till the morning and its like the DVD has a back up speed sensor that kicked in so when you come to a complete stop it works.
I know of another speed sensor 2 but that controls the nav so we dont mess with that wire.
Taking apart the car was easy 4 screws and 1.5million clips and snaps.
IS350 fsport. I have had the car for two weeks already and these sounds are driving me crazy. Its definitely coming from the center console area, I can even move it a bit and its makes the squeak sound. On bumps something like a little plastic pebble feels like it rattles. I went to lexus and they couldn't really do anything about it. They said its normal when two plastics come together to squeak.

They also damaged the driver's side door, along the edge there are 8 little chips, one of them larger and very noticeable. They touched them up but the one is still visible. Very disappointing, this was my first tune-up.
Anyway I'm wondering, any product I can use to keep it from tearing more, or where I might look for a replacement. It's where the button is but the outer part is also tearing. I know a replacement won't be an exact match.. and I gave it a good look as I was getting out of the car today and noticed it seems to be yellowing.
This is why I never had a light interior. There are also stains - that of course weren't noticeable at first - on the drivers side seat, from the dye in blue jeans. I did manage to get most of it off w/mild soap and water.
It's a 2008 ES 350 UL.
I have an 09 SE, In the center area under the radio I had a access card slide over the open bottom door into the abyss where I lost a tire gauge and who knows what else lurks in there. It was supposed to go in the top open area but the person just put it on the open door and it slid back and fell.
How to remove the side panels that run from the console in the center to under the dash? I need to access the area under the dash below the 2 storage areas.
I am assuming you take the screws out on the side and possibly pop the shift indicator panel out and lift the console off? Seems a little overkill unless there is an easier way. I really don't want to experiment and break anything.
How to remove the console center right under the radio head unit. I could not find any screws. But it did not pop out if I pull it.

View 5 RepliesI recently purchased a 2009 CPO LS460 from my Lexus dealer and cannot get the Aux input in the center console to come up. When I plug my Ipod in, and I push the Disc/Aux button on the ML stereo, all I get is either the CD player or the HDD drive but the Ipod will not show up. Could the Aux jack be bad? I have tried several different cords and inputs (ipod, phone music, etc).
