Just a little PSA, if your TPMS light shows up, and all the tires (including the spare) are at the proper psi, check the button below the glove box. As long as the warning light is solid, its likely someone pushed the button. I almost paid $120 in diagnostic fee and $150 for a new sensor at the dealer because for some reason, no one knew about this button, or didn't want to tell me.
View 5 RepliesThursday driving home from work, the thing started dinging and all sorts of lights started flashing at me. I looked in the manual and (finally) found that it is the TPMS. The orange light on the left side blinks for 1 minute and then stays on steady. I also see "Check System" in the display under the speedometer and there is a red light with an explanation point (!) on the right side. Checked all tire pressure. All were at 30 PSI. Checked spare, it was good. Manual says if it blinks and stays steady, contact your dealer. Called...they can't look at it until Feb. 12. I drive 40 miles a day on average. Not a lot, but by 2/12 that is several hundred miles. what could be wrong and if i should still be driving this car?
View 14 RepliesSo I was running stock Lexus 17' rims on my 2008 c350 RWD. The time came to replace the tires and I thought- instead of shelling out hundreds of dollars, why not use my brother's set for free (his stock 17' rims from his 2006 GS300 RWD were just lying in the garage taking up space). They were also 17's. So, I swapped all 4 out, stock rims included. Drove around for a bit and noticed the TPMS warning light came on.
Not the low pressure light, but the actual warning light. This happens every day. The car is fine driving the first 15-20 miles but after that, the light always eventually goes on..then it's magically reset when I start the car the next day.

View 14 RepliesI bought the used 2006 Lexus 148,000 miles few days ago now when driving its showing on the dash check PCS system.
I took it to the local garage they plugged in Techstream and said they are no faults are recorded.
I called today Lexus Oxford, Lexus Reading and they said they will start with the initial diagnostic diagnostic using the Lexus software and will then proceed further according to the trouble codes.
I told them that as the local garage have used Techstream were unable to find any trouble code, after that they said that they have to start with the initial diagnostic and will charge me for that and after that they will they how many more hours are need for checking , its ridiculous .
1) Check PCS System.
2) How can I check the health of the Hybrid battery as battery bars are charging and discharging too quickly.
TPMs warning light on. I was wondering is the reason the TPMs warning light is on because I don't currently have a spare tire in the trunk i have the tire i mean but no wheel. and the sensor is just sitting in my glove box until the new wheel comes in.

Is there anyway to disable this warning? Alternatively how costly is it to get a new TPMS sensor?
Yeah, like what I said on other thread (what did you do....) I installed new set of tires. I know most of guys here prefer not to have light on their dash, but I was worried because after I installed it the light did now show up even my new tires doesn't have TPMS sensor.
View 4 RepliesAbout four days ago my TPMS warning light started blinking. Same tires and sensors have been on there for quite some time. The service book says to take it to the dealer, but I instead stopped by Discount Tire (where I purchased the tires) to see if they could look and figure out which sensor was acting up.
When he ran his sensor, none of my four sensors showed up as broadcasting at all! Now I know that all four of my sensors did not just randomly go out at the same time.
With the temps at a all time low in the U.S. this week, my TPMS warning light has come on in my 2012 RX350. It will stay very cold for most of the week, so is it ok to drive with my warning light on.
I don't want to check my psi in the tires with a tire gauge because I was told a valve stem can freeze open in extreme cold letting the tire to go completely flat.
My 2004 RX330 which has gone many years without a problem suddenly has instrument panel gremlins.
I started the car a couple of days ago (it had rained during the day), and the airbag light did not turn off. Then the TPMS warning light came on, the water temperature gauge dropped to zero. The AC controls stopped responding. Since I needed to get home, and the car seemed otherwise fine, I drove home, after a few minutes the transmission "D" drive light went blank and the instrument back-light went to full brightness.
A few minutes later, all the warning lights went off and the back-light went back to normal. The AC controls still seemed to be off. A few minutes later the airbag warning light came back on, followed by the TPMS light and the back-light went to full brightness again. This cycle kept happening all the way home.
The next morning, hoping the problem had been some errant water getting into something, I started the car, opened the driver's door to get something and got back into the car, closing the door. The light showing the door was open stayed on. I put the car into reverse, the doors did not automatically lock as they usually do. I turned off the engine and restarted it, most of the other lights were off, the doors would lock; airbag & TPMS light came back on.
It has stayed that way, except I also get the A/T temperature warning light coming on periodically, and after some cycle it goes off.
I borrowed a car code reader, it does not seem to show any error codes. In reading some other postings it has been suggested that the Brake light switch is the cause, but the brake lights come on/off without any problem.
I have a 2004 V6 with 20s and close to 32K miles, never driven off road. Last Friday this warning "Check brake pads" started to show sometimes. I believe the dealer changed them before, but if he did not, how much should it cost me to replace them?
View 11 RepliesToday I spent an eventful day at the dealership getting oil changes on my IS300 and my GS430. After leaving with my gs430, my Tpms light came on. So I went back to the dealer and they ran a check to confirm it is the Tpms. My service guy didn't tell me which tire went out but I'm planning on getting rims in a couple of months. Should I just order order a new set of tpm sensors or just find out which needs to be replaced and replace it
View 14 RepliesSo I recently got an '11 GS350 awd. No issues with the TPMS until today. In anticipation of next winter I went out and got a set of winter wheels with tpms. Yesterday I decided to hook up my new Techstream and program the second set of sensor IDs. When my wife drove the car today the tpms light came on flashing. I thought that meant that one or more senders was bad. Techstream showed four unique pressure readings for set 1 but had an error code for a bad sensor. Holding the learn button under the dash does nothing.
View 5 RepliesI had a new compressor installed on '07 ES350 and now every now and then the AC button light blinks, the cool air shuts down and I get a message on the screen saying "Check Air Conditioner".
It only occurs occasionally --maybe not at all one day and two or three times another day. I returned to the shop that installed the compressor and they don't seem to know what is causing the problem. (They said maybe a freon overfill and adjusted that --but it's still occurring.)
Recently purchased 2006 GX470. Great truck! Previous owner installed 20" custom wheels and tires. About a week after purchase TPMS light began flashing. Ckd all tire prs. including spare. All good.
View 2 RepliesI added air to my tires today and wanted to reset the TPMS, the manual stated that the button to hold for a few seconds is located on the lower Left side of the dash below the fuel door release button area. I searched far and wide and am unable to find any button?
Where this button is or how to reset the system.
I was driving home and all of a sudden my rpms are at 3.5 4k rpm wont shift to next gear. I put in in tiptronic mode and shift it to 8 it works fine. Then about 10 minutes later check vsc shows on dash traction control light is on check engine light is on and the light next to the check engine i think it is the abs light. I havent pulled the code yet.

View 7 RepliesAbout a month ago the "Check VSC" warning came on in my 2006 GS300 AWD. This happened after the car was in the garage all night and when I started the car in the morning. The car was at the dealer for 2 days and the saved codes showed multiple errors for the evap system, but they couldn't find anything specifically wrong and the light warning went off after all the systems checked out.
A week later the warning came on again, and the codes indicated incorrect purge flow and a gross leak. After 3 days in the shop they decided that the problem was caused by a faulty gas cap, which was replaced. You guessed it! A week later the warning came on AGAIN! I'm taking the car to the shop on Thursday. I'm really getting tired of driving my car 40 miles to the dealer just to have the warning show up again in another week!
