I have a Gs 430 - 2006. After hitting bumps in the highway big or small it seems like my dash or suspension squeaks inside the car. Since I can hear it so clearly I'm leaning towards its the dash or something behind the dash, It seems to be coming from the drivers side.What could it be?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2009 460 awd with adjustable suspension and when making a right turn the front left side makes a noise. I have had the dealer look at it 5 times or more but each time I am told that there are no problems. Now that the weather is getting colder it is becoming more pronounced.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 ES 350, the driver's door doesn't seem to be a snug as it ought to be. Hitting even small bumps seems to cause a jarring of the door. How to snug it up?
View 10 RepliesCar has 170k kilometers , just over 100k miles on it; GL model so no sport suspension. Noise occurs going over small bumps.
Stabilizer links are the only front ends parts that were changed so far(12 months ago). Can't feel any play in tierods or ball joints, even the struts don't show signs of leakage and bounce test seems to show they are still okay.
Noise appears to come from front of car ; but I hate guessing and throwing money away. Fished a few large chunks of gravel trapped in subframe cross member around steering rack; no change.
I seem to be having a front end noise that only started up a few weeks ago.. The suspension doesn't make any noise over small bumps, only for larger ones. It makes the most noise when pulling into a drive way or something with a steeper grade from a flat street.
The noise I am experiencing sounds more like a scraping. It's not the power steering pump and it's not the brakes. Also, nothing is under the car that would cause this type of noise. It doesn't click or sound like a CV joint, I know what that sounds like. It also has no affect on any other performance of the car. I have tried jumping/pushing down on the car and it cannot seemed to be re-produced. Where I can start looking?
I have a 2007 Sonata Ltd (63000 miles) and had a clunk in the front suspension. I had the front upper control arms replaced (which were visually badly worn) and that fixed the problem. But now, a several months later another similar clunking noise has developed when I go over those small speed bumps in parking lots.
View 18 RepliesI have an 04 rx 330 with air suspension. The swaybar end links have just been replaced on the front and a rattling noise persists.
The noise happens over large and small bumps at high and low speeds at normal and low vehicle height. When the height is at "HI" the noise is louder and it feels as though the front end is shaking loose over bumps at 10 km/h+.
I took it in and was advised to replace the end links, they did so and returned it claiming the noise was gone. The air compressor and struts are in working condition.
I have done a search through the forum, not extensive... I was wondering which other components come loose/wear and cause a clunk/rattle/shudder noise.
Also, tires are new and at approx. 32-34 psi.
I bought a 09 Sonata GLS in July, really nice other than dash noise, what has been described as crackle. Briefly, my sonata is makes crackling noise going over small bumps, more pronounced in colder temp. I have taken it in to the dealer 4 times, problem still persist. According to the dealer, Hyundai regional office knows of my problem, and there is no fix for it at this time. I just bought the vehicle and I am suppose to live with it?????
View 69 RepliesSo I was driving home from work today and picked my daughter up from the sitters. When I got back in the car I noticed a "clunking" noise when I would hit small bumps. Trying to figure it out, I also noticed this occur when driving straight and moving the steering wheel back and forth.
The car is a 2012 SE v6 with about 26k on it.
I did install eibach springs about a month ago, but have not had any issues until now. I took both front wheels off and checked anything I would have changed when installing the slings and everything seems okay.
I have 2016 Camry se Spacial Edition, while driving on small bumps from front passenger side. I can hear something hitting like feels like my shock failed or something I can't notice anything from drivers side. I have 18" on it.
View 14 RepliesHere is the spec of my gs: 20x9.5 front(-2 camber), 20x10.5(-4 camber), I have fig camber arm (upper&lower), toe arm and trac arm installed, and alignment done, but I still get that bump steer when I hit bumps on the highway. Why it's happening?!?!? do I need to change the outer tie rod then the issue will be fixed? Or is there anything I can do to fix the problem. Since Figs Engineering does not make outer tie rod for the 3rd GS, is Moog tie rod will be ok?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2012 Tig SEL with 18" wheels with factory 235-50-18 tires and stock suspension. The car rides pretty smooth for the most part, but I also find that it's sensitive to lots of small bumps and the suspension is not as smooth as friends other small SUV's. What do you all think about how the Tig rides overall?
View 11 RepliesI'm getting ready to do some maintenance such as flushing the brake fluid, new air filter, and changing spark plugs. I've noticed lately a noise from what I'm assuming is my front suspension that can be heard when going over small bumps on roads at low speeds. It sound like a squeaky spring, almost like something needs to be oiled. I'm still on stock suspension with close to 80k on the clock, so I was wondering if there is anything in particular I should look for when I'm messing around the wheels bleeding brakes, or if there is a common procedure to lubricate something so the noise stops. I can hear it from inside the cabin so I imagine you can hear it from outside the car.
View 3 RepliesMy 07 gs350 only has 67,000 miles on it, and I've only had it for 2 weeks. I've noticed a rattle in my dash, seems to be up where the front windshield meets it. It only seems to happen when I hit bumps, which is quite frequent. The roads here in Michigan are absolutely terrible. Also I have run flat tires on it, which I heard makes for an extra bumpy ride... Is this a known problem? If so what's it gonna run me to fix it? Or is it just these run flat tires that I need to change maybe?
View 13 RepliesLooks like my struts and springs are getting old that they're making squeaky noises over the bumps. Had a shop checked to make sure and they suggested replacing them. I've been wanting to do air ride but not a lot of good shops in town have done that before. So far by searching, most complete kits run around $4k or so without installation. Is that about right? How complicate is it to do the installation?
My second option was to purchase coilovers and put them in myself. Cheap and easy. But again, there are 4-5 brands out there? Megan, D2, BC, K-Sport, etc? I want it mildly lowered and not too bouncy. What spring rates should I get?

I have a rattling noise coming from the front suspension (both sides) when going over small bumps. Most people point to ball joints, but I find my case odd because I just replaced

I did not touch the leaf springs or the sway bar, except to grease the links, which otherwise looked good.
I have a 70,000 mile touring SE which at low speeds( less than 20) has a rattling/clunking noise when hitting any small bump. Can not hear anything at higher speeds. Steers well noise could be coming from both sides. They did replace my transmission at 40,000 miles. Car does not bounce when pushing on it like a strut is bad.
View 5 RepliesSo I have an 06 Sonata with 56k miles on it. A few months back it started squeaking by the struts. It got worse last month and was pretty loud when going over speed bumps. Especially in the mornings
During my research on replacing them I came across a you tube video of a guy using AT-205 resealer to fix the squeak. Of course I bought some and was about to try it out but noticed that there was a lot of dirt and grime around the struts and other rubber mounts.
I decided before using the AT-205 I should clean everything first. Took some degreaser and sprayed everything I could see, including any other rubber mounts in the area. Rinsed thoroughly with water. Let it dry overnight and before applying the AT-205 decided to see if there was any change. To my surprise, there is no more squeaking. (It has only been 2 days though).
Hopefully it will not come back otherwise will use the AT-205 and failing that, will have to take the plunge and replace the struts.
2006 with 110K. I did a search for rattles. My question is do these struts have bushings or shims that wear out over time. Going down the road car is nice and quiet. Hit some bumps and it sounds like it is coming apart.
View 5 RepliesI'm considering buying a used '06 Sonata LX with 137k miles, and the front suspension squeaks badly. I read the entire thread about replacing upper control arms to see what I might get into if I purchase as-is, and while it honestly doesn't seem too bad I know other problems may lurk. Would you buy this car with a squeaky suspension, or would you expect the seller to fix it first? Would you insist on them replacing all front UCA + LCA + struts + mounts + alignment at the same time? Any issues to worry about with the rear?
The car was amazingly clean and well-cared for overall. It was parked outside and the interior and exterior look better than my '05 Magnum that was garaged! I did notice rust on the wiper arms, one screw that was out of the passenger rear grab handle (above door). Also the seller told me the front passenger door lock won't work electronically 98% of the time, and the drivers rear lock won't work 70% of the time. I'm assuming the solenoids are bad or something is stuck - I can see the locks twitch a little bit when I depress the lock/unlock switch, but not enough to actuate the locks.
Hearing a loose heat shield like rattle when hitting bumps...checked everything underneath , can't find anything loose..? 09 GX-470 56K miles
