View 7 RepliesMy alarm went off for no explainable reason today. My car is parked in front of my house and all of a sudden I hear an alarm going off. Now, I've never heard my own alarm so I wasn't even aware it was mine until it kept going and I realized it might be mine. So I went to look out the window and I couldn't decipher where the sound was coming from because there's a lot of cars around here
So for the heck of it, I grabbed my fob and kept pressing buttons to see if it would go off. I was so flustered and nothing went off so I thought it wasn't mine. Then I held down the red button and it finally went off.
Does it mean someone tried to open my door? What warnings should I look for on the dash when I go in there for the first time after shutting off the alarm?
I've had my '09 ES 350 for a few months now. I am disappointed in the low volume of parking sensor alert. The volume is all the way up and the switch is on. Expecting it to be louder as I am or do I have a faulty "speaker"? I'll be going to the dealer next month for service and will get their opinion at that time.
View 14 RepliesWhere the parking assist sensor is in the front. I placed my license plate too far on the left I am assuming and the sensor is going off. For now I have just turned off the PA until after work. (is the PA a small visible circle?).
View 5 RepliesMy Lexus SC430 parking sensor alarm sounds intermittently while I am driving. (No, I do not tailgate the car in front.)
It has happened several times, all but once when it was raining. On that one occasion, the sun was shining. It happened again today while it was raining, and continued to sound after the rain had stopped, but the road was still wet.
What could be causing this to happen, and how can it be prevented. I have decided to fit an ON-OFF switch, if the problem cannot be solved conventionally.
Sensors are much more sensitive when it rains or snows?
So in dry weather I would not get any beeps until the distance between a car in front of me lets say a few feet. In rainy/snowy weather, I am getting beeps when the distance is like 10 ft.
Wondering if that increased sensitivity is normal and by design, or take her to the dealer while still under wtty.
I have a 2008 LS. The buzzer for my front parking assist sensors is significantly louder than when the buzzer sounds for the rear sensors. I have adjusted the buzzer volume to the loudest position (#5), but the volume of the buzzer when the rear sensors activate is still much lower than for the front sensors.
The indicators on the nav screen for all the sensors are working properly. Do you find the volume is different between the front and rear sensors or do I have a problem?
I am asking because I inadvertently backed out of a driveway into a car that was parked directly across the street. I do not recall hearing the sensor sound before I hit the other car. At the time, my sensor volume was set on #3. When I checked, I could barely hear the buzzer from the rear sensors, but could clearly hear the buzzer from the front sensors. Resetting the buzzer volume to #5 has worked a bit, but I still wish the buzzer for the rear was louder.
I have a question regarding the park assist...
When it snows and I am at a stop sign or red light the FRONT system starts beeping...
And there are no cars in front of me
Any ls600hl owner experienced this? --> When the car is left on acc for a while (all electrics system online without the engine running - or if the car is started with radio only then shut off a few time) the parking sensor suddenly start beeping non stop. If you shut down the car then the steering wheel won't go back into neutral position.
If you try to start the car (along the engine) the car does a kind a "air deflating" sound and won't start (don't seems to be the suspension thought). Then the light on the Mark Levinson radio start flashing intermittently and a warning about the SRS is showing telling you to go to the dealer to have the car inspected.
If you wait a few minutes and start the car again it will then start normally without problems and won't display the SRS warning anymore. This is my second 2008 ls600h with the executive trim and both did this so this seems to be some kind of design flawn.
I am not sure if it is the same time every night like clock-work or if it's a set interval after I come home...but here is what happens:
-I come home and I turn off the power to my 2010 Prius after parking.
-I lock the car and I get that loud external "Beep"
-Around 2 to 3 hours later, I hear 4 to 5 beeps in a row from the horn. It sounds just like the beeps that are made when I unlock the car. Just a bunch of them in a row..for no reason
It is really loud and ticking off my neighbors. What would cause this? I have a dealer installed Rockledge security system.
I have an 03 JETTA TDI 5 SPEED WAGON with 216 on it. The parking brake alarm recently came on for no reason (as did the warning light) As soon as you move 50' it starts and wont stop until you stop the vehicle. I pulled the center console, unplugged the switch and it still did it. I jumped the 2 wires together and it still did it! I cut the wires at the point where they disappeared into the larger harness, it still did it!!! Why this is happening and if there is something besides the switch at the park brake lever that make the alarm go off?
View 1 RepliesWhenever I start my 2011 Sonata Turbo after it has been resting overnight, the brake warning light comes on and stays on. It's not immediate?it usually takes five to ten seconds, and whether the emergency brake was on when I started has no effect. Once it goes on, it cannot be shut off without shutting off the car and restarting?at which time it acts normally for the rest of the day. The braking system is fine.

View 14 RepliesWife's 2008 ES350 with 80k miles died in a parking lot. Wouldn't re-start with warning lights for Trac Off, Check Engine and VSC. Called tow truck from our local repair shop. Tow truck driver tied and started the car with no lights. Wife went ahead and had it towed.
Repair shop called and said that car started for tech but died w/o any warning lights. Shop started checking it out and found that it has no compression on all cylinders. In talking with service manager, we discounted the timing chain since the car will re-start, at least a few times. His gut feeling, something with the internal timing gears and such.
Repair shop has found a used engine locally and has it on hold while we decide what to do. The shop doesn't rebuild motor and just diving into it for exploratory surgery could be expensive with no assurance of positive results.
I just wondering is that normal that my 2006 gS450H not increasing engine RPM when in P or N accelerator pedal is like dead when driving all OK....
I have tech stream software 2 errors are about solar sensor circuit that's it (did full health check). In live data it show accelerator position if I press more down it show accelerator position change but no increase in RPM??? I tested other GS450H and then RPMs increased somehow in P position. Also 2 days ago did MOT then also RPMs increased they tested emissions.
OK, we have a cavalier that is slowly dying but until we find a good price on a used car we are looking at it has to keep chugging along... It started to overheat about month ago, just when you go up a hill otherwise it is fine (doesn't overheat but a few lines from the red zone!). Mechanic said it was a head gasket and we have noticed that the coolant level is down slightly... can it be a head gasket yet still drivable? Also about 2 months ago the car needed a new water pump, flushed and filled, could it just be the new water pump was bad? No other issues, heat works fine, no puddles under the car etc....
View 14 RepliesAfter taking my car to 2008 Lexus GS 350 AWD for an oil change and recall fix, I noticed my iJDMToy LED Parking Lights and Xentec HID for Fog Lamps have stopped working and just blink a very low light the entire time. The parking light starts working fine when the main head lights are off, but as soon as I turn them on, they start to blink again. The fog lamps just constantly blink at a low light level while on. Here is an example:
Light issues - YouTube
I have a 2006 RX330 AWD. I took it to get inspected and was told I had a bad O2 Sensor.
Are they easy to replace? What should the average cost be? I was also looking for the part number. I was told that "Bank 2 Sensor 1" failed. I was looking for the part but I am not sure I found the correct part.
I was also told that the front inner and outer Tie Rod needs replaced along with both rear wheel bearings. I found the parts for the tie rod but not sure about the rear wheel bearings. Wondering if i need to get just the wheel bearing or if i need the wheel bearing and hub assembly also.
While driving home yesterday my AFS Light started blinking. Middle of the afternoon, lights aren't on, and boom, it just starts. So I get home thinking maybe the leveling arm in the rear got loose and crawl under the car, nope, that looks fine. Check the front, no issue there. So... Sure enough the lights don't auto level or 'look' around turns any more.
View 1 RepliesNormally my head light turn off automatically when I turn off the engine and open the driver's door. Now, it works randomly which caused my battery to be drained.
I feel that the sensor on the door does not trigger to tell the car to turn off the lights.
I have aftermarket wheels and the tire pressure sensors have been transferred over. Since I went from the stock 17" wheels to 20" wheels, I had to increase the tire pressure from 32 to about 38.
1) I'm assuming that since the pressure is now higher with the 20" wheels, the tire pressure sensor won't warn me unless it drops below a really low level (maybe somewhere around 28 psi). Is there any way I can set a higher threshold so that they come on at around 36 psi?
2) The tire shop that installed the wheels transferred over the sensor, but I'm not sure if they actually work since the warning light has ever came on. Do I need to take the car to the dealership for them to start working again?
Based on the my research, some people are saying that only the dealer can reset the TPS so they can start working again. Others are saying that I can reset it myself, but does this reset actually raise the threshold?
