I got the ivic system installed in my car today and I am pleased thus far with the little bit that I have played with it. The only problem that I have is my back up camera is not cutting on. Why?
View 2 RepliesThe VML I had in the car stopped working for no reason a while back and I figured that the unit may have gone bad since it was used before I got it. I checked all the connections first and figured it must be dead.
So then I ordered the iVIC-5i and hooked everything up and when I went to program the unit nothing happens on the screen. Like the radio isn't reading or getting a signal from that input or something now. The unit has power to it, the green and or yellow LEDs are on depending which way the switches are pointed but nothing happens on the screen. I called VAIS and after being on the phone with the tech support for 30-40 minutes they figured the unit was defective and sent me another one, and that's doing the same thing.
So I'm wondering what in the world could have happened since it used to work? Is there some setting in the radio that I can't find to turn on that input, or a fuse?
Just installed the Vaistech iVic unit yesterday and everything seemed to function fine, but noticed once I started driving today that my Navigation unit was off. It still operated and tracked movement OK, only the maps were about 10 minutes away from where I was actually located.
I've turned off the car several times since, and also took out the Navigation disc and re-installed but it keeps putting me in the same wrong place, This all happens in the normal standard Lexus modes.
I have a 2011 regular cab XL, and I just installed a Kenwood DDX770 that has a backup camera connection. I am installing an aftermarket camera. I would like to use the wire from the stereo and connect it to the steering column wire for reverse, but can't seem to locate it. I read other places that it is a black wire with a pink stripe, but I can't find that color under the dash.
View 3 RepliesInstalled one of the wireless bu cams from Pep boys earlier this year. Anyhow it hooks to the bu lights and has a pwr source from the fuse box. Works ok, but every now and again it will flicker while I am driving down the road, is also slow to illuminate when reverse is engaged. What the issue may be? Its a VRBCS300W.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2016 F-350 Lariat. I want to install a second backup camera (high mount) to see my fifth wheel hitch when hooking up. It will be located either near or in the third brake light. I really do not want to add another display or change the OEM display. My question; is there any way to add a second camera input the the OEM head unit? Or can I use the A/V inputs and disable the OEM Backup Camera when I want to use the high mount.

During driving, some buttons are not working. Sometimes work and sometimes doesn't work!
Two random times I put the car in reverse and the back up camera showed a blank black screen. I have to turn the car off and restart It for it to work.

View 14 RepliesJust bought this 11 gs350 and car is great except that the reverse camera does not activate when the car is put in reverse. The side mirrors tilt down and the rear shade will lower when put in reverse but the screen just stays on the navigation screen no flicker or black screen.. What could be the problem?
View 7 RepliesNot sure what happened but my back up camera angle changed . It's picking up a bit of license plate and trunk now. Maybe wife slammed the trunk or something like that even though I said many times to be gentle with the trunk when closing. Is the camera adjustable?

View 2 RepliesWe have a 2007 Santa Fe with 78,000 miles.
It's recently developed an issue where it has cut off on two different occasions within the past 2 weeks.
My wife said both times happened as she was slowing down and it felt like she was losing power. The vehicle cut off and then cranked right back up.
I've taken it to my personal mechanic as well as the dealership for diagnostic tests and neither were able to replicate the issue or find the problem.
Something strange happened the other evening while driving. I'll just lay down the facts: I picked up my kid from class. When we got in the Prius there was a song I turned it down kind of fast.
It had rained earlier and there was a puddle at the curb. I slowly went through it and into traffic and accelerated. The music stopped and I looked at the display. The back up camera was on and I was looking at the road moving behind me. It flashed a few times then went black.
I pulled over and turned off the car. Turned it back on and all has been OK since. Just weird that it would do that all by itself.
I didn't "blast" through the water.
what turns on the back up camera,, the computer, the back up light relay or the transmission selector?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius and have been having problems with the a/c blower just cutting out randomly and then coming back on equally as randomly. I can hear the relay click when I turn the fan on and off, but nothing coming out of the vents.
