Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Heating And Cooling System Of Driver Side Seat Doesn't Work Right
Jan 15, 2014
I just bought a 2006 Lexus GS300 AWD. Bought it with 99k from a older gentleman who seemed like he took really care of the car. Gave me all type of Lexus dealership service receipts. I recently noticed that the driver side seat heating and cooling doesn't work right, passenger seat works fine. I haven't checked the fuses yet just wanted to get some opinions before getting into it.

I just noticed that my rear heat doesnt work. The A/C DOES work, however. Where to start troubleshooting?

I recently purchased a GS350 from auction, thought it ran and drove, got it home, the car had a blown motor. it was an insurance scam from what i gathered. well, car is running and driving now, everything works great not a single warning light on the dash, but i do have a problem with the power windows.
The pass side front and rear windows wont go down, the seat memory doesn't work, and the window switches are flashing... i tried reprogramming them as one of the posts said by lowering the window half way etc that's fine but my pass side window wont go down at all. all fuses check out. and my sunroof works like it should. does this sound like a Module inside the door issue?

The heated seat on the driver side does not work. I replaced the switch (near the center console) and checked the fuse, but it still doesn't work. The light on the switch comes on, but no heat.

The temperature control doesn't change the air temperature on my 94 SL2. If I slide the control all the way to the red, the air blowing out doesn't get any hotter. If I slide it all the way to the blue with the AC button and the recirculating air buttons depressed, it doesn't get any cooler. The blower fan works fine, the AC is charged with refrigerant, the compressor looks like it is working, and all the related relays and fuses seem to be okay. I've taken the radio out and loosened the heat/air control. The cables for the vents and the temperature are both attached. Maybe the temp control cable is broken down the line somewhere.

On my 2013 Platinum the passenger's seat seems weak on the cooling versus the drivers. It still works on the passenger's side just not very cool. Is the AC cooling just a fan pushing air through the small holes in the leather seats?

My 2008 ES350 started shaking and the front driver's side tire and rim started heating up. Turns out there is a hanging caliper, which needs to be replaced. That's the cause of the friction and heat on the rotor. I should replace both front calipers, pads and rotors, then bleed the brakes.
Mileage is about 90k.

I had the windshield replaced in my truck and now my drivers side wiper doesn't work. The passenger side moves normally however drivers twitches and doesn't move. Also if I grab it it moves freely without any friction. I'm stumped.

I drive two 1999 Caravans, a base model and a Sport. With both I have a persistent problem with moisture in the heating/cooling system. When I turn it on, it smells and feels moist (not like coolant), heat or A/C, summer or winter. I have pressure tested, no leaks. I have replaced heater cores, o ring seals, checked the condensate drains for blockages, replaced the metal tubes that go through the firewall on one car. There is no moisture coming from the outside. The windshield starts fogging at about 34 degrees and gets so bad when it is colder that the defroster full on with the A/C on cannot completely clear the inside glass. Really cold (for us) 20s and the windshield is so fogged that driving is scary. When I drive into a cold spot in winter, sometimes the whole windshield will fog in a few moments-- that's with the defroster on.

I have read other people having problems with their power seats. Mine is kind of weird, the right side moves, the left doesn't. So when I try to move forward, it moves forward and pivots to toward the left, since only the right side is moving forward on the rail. There is only one motor moving the seat forward and backward right? I am hoping it's just an obstruction on the left railing or something....unless there are two motors moving the seat forward. The lumbar motors are fine, I can move up and down, it's just the seat itself that can't slide forward and backward.

08 Lexus GS350. Drove car Christmas Eve everything was fine, Christmas morning I go to start the car and it attempts to start once and before it cuts on it stops. Then anytime afterwards when I push the start button the starter doesn't engage and the radiator cooling fan comes on. I let the car sit for half a day and try to start it again I get the same cycle (it engages the starter but quits before the car turns over)...
- Battery is new as of September 14 (also took the battery to get checked 100% charged).
- I replaced the alternator in November 14
- I currently have the car at my mechanics but they can't figure it out as of yet. So far they are saying that the can't the cars computer to respond to their machine.

Air conditioner stuck on. I had to take the Compressor fuse out also. Car drives fine just have no heat/air.

So my battery had died and just got a new one. But i noticed that my automatic up/down on the drivers side window doesn't work, I have to keep pressing the button for it to go up or down.... the other 3 windows are working perfectly. Is there a way to fix this?

So it started when the auto up DID work, and when it closed, it automatically came back down. In order to close the window, I had to use the switch in the non-auto mode. Now, the auto up and down don't work.

I just got it and the gauge is showing a little hot. I took it in they found nothing. The fans runs almost all of the time. It even started running when I was sitting in my driveway with it in park (it was about 55 degrees outside at the time). I also hear some grumbling noise in the dash on the drivers side. It sounds like something is trying to work (the radio is off and it still makes this sound).

It doesn't move back when I turn off the car anymore. I checked settings and it's set to full. I tried the middle one and nothing... Weird...

2006 GX470. I have an A/C issue where sometimes the driver's side is not cool at all but the passenger side is very cold. Both sides are set to the coldest setting.
The weird part is, I can usually get it to fix itself by reaching back to cycle the rear A/C on and off.
I did a search on here and found one similar thread, however it seemed his fix was replacing the expansion valve; but wouldn't a bad expansion valve cause an issue to both driver's and passenger side?

I had the heater core flushed, inspection done, a tie rod end replaced, and both low beams replaced to pass inspection in January. The driver's side low beam stopped working after a week.
When I would hit a bump in the road, it would start working for a while till I hit another bump and then it would go off. Now the driver's side low beam never works.
I could have gone back to the mechanic, but it's an 80 mile round trip(they used to be a lot cheaper than the dealership). Now that the weather is starting to get better, do you think it's a simple problem that I can fix myself? I don't want to waste 80 miles worth of gas just to have them charge me for something that they already charged me to fix. The next time I'm due an oil change I may go there and demand that they fix the light too, but I'm not going to waste 80 miles of gas just for the light.

1992 Subaru loyale 4WD, was sitting for about 2 weeks straight without use. . . I just changed the oil and spark plugs, and now the buttons for the 4wd and air conditioning/heater do not work. I heard that these are vacuum operated. Is this a quick fix? Will it lead to other problems? Brakes??

This used RX has been a nightmare so far. In the shop again, this time because the driver side AC is not cold but the passenger side is. Shop told me they are doing a system evac and recharge but I don't think that is it. My son's Yukon has a dual air setup and the blend doors are issues on those.
I think something similar is happening with the RX but I am not familiar enough with them to know.

I have checked all wires for krosion and fuse's are good so confused! Just put brand new tail lights bulbs in! The top one comes on as a running light but nothing else works. I also checked under hood fuses too!
1.Only Hazard light that works is on the Right Front passenger side.
2 Drivers side Brake Light & Turn Signal Doesn't Work. But passenger works fine! Left turn signal is out and blinks really fast!
3.Passenger Side Overhead Outside Light on cab is out . Okay that's probably just a bulb!
