I have a problem with the rear right door on my 2006 GS300. It wont unlock no matter what I do. When I try with the key it just makes a funny whirring sound, and the inside lock switch does nothing at all. I need to take a look at the door but obviously I cannot get it open to do so.
View 12 RepliesI recently purchased a 2006 GS 300 AWD from a friend with about 90k miles. After getting accustomed to this vehicle, I began to notice that the driver's side door handle does not automatically unlock the door as I know it should.
I've troubleshooted and changed the settings for each door handle through the key fob to unlock every door instead of just the drivers door. Every other door handle sensor works, besides the drivers door. I can lock and unlock doors with every other door handle but can not lock or unlock from the drivers side door sensor or the button on the door handle.
I've changed my key fob battery as I read that that might have something to do with it, but alas, no luck and I doubt that was the problem since the other doors have worked fine since I've gotten the car.
Do the sensors on these door handles go bad? Is there a way to replace them and are parts/labor expensive?
Now that I have the audio upgraded in my LS, we have uncovered a slight issue with the drivers rear door. The installers will work with me, but I thought there is so much knowledge up here, why not ask.
Everything else on the vehicle works perfect, its just this one door as if all the power is off or disconnected.(ACC or ON power it functions fine) I have checked the fuses under the driver side and the ones in the trunk, they are all fine and we took the front driver door apart to make sure any connections were good. everything seems secure, we even looked over the ECU in the door to make sure it didn't seem fried or anything, all functions on front and passenger doors are perfect.
Here are the symptoms: passenger rear door light wont come on with the door open unless the ACC is on. the other 3 turn on, with or without ACC.
The door lock actuator from the outside on this door wont lock the doors or with the sensing when you approach with the fob and grab the handle (as in the lights there wont light up).
The door closer that finishes off the door being slightly open wont grab and pull it in.
The trunk lights wont come on and there is no fuse or connection issue we can see. Its puzzling.
I own a stock GS300 2007 RWD doing about 80K miles here in Thailand. I am facing one critical issue with my ride. While driving normally if I hit the brake hard the car seems to loose power then there is a hard knock from the rear which knocks the car forward. I think it is caused from the downshift of the gear, but I am not quite sure. It happens often in the same kind of situation.
View 5 RepliesI've seen posts about this problem online, but no one has listed a good fix. There seem to be LOTS of '06 Lucernes with back doors that won't open. It is not a child door lock issue as the customer has no kids needing such protection, and the door should open from the outside anyway.
I need to remove the inner door panel, but can't figure out how to do that with the door closed. Once the door panel is off, I can probably see what's going on inside, and maybe fix it.
My passenger rear door latch will not open. (06 Sonata 4cyl) It has no give when you pull it so I have to roll down the window and reach out.

After going through this initial opening, the second attempt will open properly & close only when Power Door Button is depressed. View 11 RepliesI just got a 2011 LX 570. The power rear door/tailgate opens just fine when pressing the button inside the car, or on the key fob. And closing it works fine as well from there as well as from the button on the door. However, when I press the larger "unlock" button on the tailgate itself, it does not open by itself. I have to manually open it.
I've read in a couple of places that this is a setting that the dealer must changed...IE to make that large unlock button also open the tailgate by itself instead of having to manually open it.
After owning the truck for a little over a year I figure it's time to fix the little stuff staring off with the rear door. When pressing any of the 3 buttons to open/close it I get it to work 50% of the time. That being said, I can't pinpoint a specific bad part.
View 14 RepliesMy ES350 trunk and fuel door will not open. The problem started out with me addressing the "Check SONAR" issue where all of my rear SONAR sensors weren't working. This issue with the SONAR working intermittently has been an issue now for about 8 months. Anyway so I had read somewhere to check under the front right passenger footwell and I did. With the car in ON mode (engine not running) I tried to disconnect each of the harnesses from the plugs one at a time so that I could isolate the harness that controlled the sonar.
Anyway I plugged everything back in and now the trunk won't release either from the Keyfob, or from the interior. The fuel door also won't release either and I've already tried the Valet button to no effect. I'm wondering if the computer that handles the trunk or whatnot got deactivated from the other computers and is no longer talking to it or something to that effect. I'm hoping I just blew a fuse but otherwise I just don't know how to proceed from here. It sucks this car has no way to open the trunk with a key, I think that was a huge oversight. I also cannot open the trunk by opening the pass through because the internal trunk release cable was broken by my dad several years ago and was never repaired.
The floor lights in my car do not come on when I open the doors. What could cause this? The bulbs look good. Is there a separate special setting to get these to come on?

View 2 RepliesIt's strange because it doesn't happen over every bump and sometimes doesn't go off over pot holes, but switching lanes and going over the lane reflectors on the road will set it off. It happens only on the driver's door. I tried a DIY and while it doesn't happen as often as it use to, it still goes off from time to time.
Car is an 08 GS350 RWD.
I have a 2006 LEXUS GS300 AWD. I loved how it looked stock but I wanted more. I replaced the stock shocks with Brian Crowler coilovers and got some 20" Niche Verona staggered wheels. I dropped it about 2 inches. The problem is that when I take off I have a vibration that comes from the car up until i reach about 20 miles per hour. However, when I put on the stock wheels there is no vibration. I got it put on the rack and all the arms are fine. I even checked the tires and the rims for any problems and they are fine.
View 2 RepliesI bought in my 2006 GS300 to Lexus dealer 2 weeks ago for the engine misfire issue and were told to call corporate 'cuz it's over the 9 yr period for 1 month. Called and told me to bring it back for inspection on the issue. Dealer performed the test and found the misfire, but got a call from dealer that they won't cover it because I missed it by 1 month. I had explained to the rep that we moved around quite a bit and found out about this not too long ago.
View 11 RepliesMy '06 GS300 has a bulb in the driving lights (inner set, closest to the grill) that is out. It is the small light that turns-on when you turn the proper night-time lights on. SO, my driving lights operate normally, but when I switch the lights on, and the smaller bulbs turn on, one is out.
I was able to locate a post that suggested a 194/t10 LED light for replacement. How to confirm this is the proper bulb for the job? Also see these listed as #2825 in halogen.
I bought my 06 GS300 AWD with 104k a year and half ago and have noticed the transmission sticks while shifting. This is prevalent during winter or cold driving.
These are the cold symptoms w/o Snow Mode active:
-sticking between shifts (gears 2-4).
-on highway coasting speeds, take your foot of the accelerator and the Tac. needle bounces.
-downshifting to lower gears the car pushes forward further than expected.
-coming down a decline with your foot on Brake, the gear upshifts instead of downshifts (has happened after driving for more than 20 minutes).
- high Tac. reading during warm-up drive, have to depress brake pedal further, to prevent collision.(this one I expected since all Toyota vehicles that I've owned has done this).
I have talk to my local Lexus dealer and a tech mentioned this transmission has been known to do this while it's cold.
So, my question is, should I consider changing the trans. fluid to see if the problem goes away?
Owning a Lexus . I recently bought an '06 model GS300 and have just had an issue appear with it.
Issue is that, whether in drive or reverse, the car accelerates on its own - not very quickly, but quickly enough that it'll crash me into my garage door if I'm not careful.
What this could be? Variously, I've read that it could be a Throttle Positioning Sensor, or Idle Air Control valve. Some things I've read suggest it could be air conditioning related (though I don't understand that one...).
I have 06 gs300 AWD, dashboard makes a lot of noise now, beside than that its a very good car. Noise is so bad, it seems like, about to break apart?

I bought a lexus gs300 and changed the transmission. the car would turn on, run for about 10 mins then shut off. I gave changed the fuel pump, the router and service the car it still does the same thing. what could the problem be?
