View 6 RepliesI have a 2011 Corolla LE, about 58k miles. The latest work I did was replace the brake pads, rotate the tires and changed the oil a little over 2 weeks ago. Everything was normal so far. Yesterday I drove for about an hour, again everything was fine, but after stopping at a gas station and starting I have several indicator lights come on.
- Slip indicator, flashing
- TRAC OFF, constant
- ABS, flashing
- Electric power steering warning light, flashes but turns off after about 30 seconds.
I tried my OBD scanner with no luck, but figures since there was no Check Engine light.
I have a problem emerged after leaders of the car prius 2010 rainstorm in the streets and the street was full of water .. this warning on. ( Electric power steering system warning ) ...
View 11 RepliesSo, I'm thinking of converting my RX330 power steering to be all electric, based on the RX 400h power steering system. I know the 400h operates the power steering on a 30V - 50V circuit but I need the wiring diagram of the 400h power steering circuit to know what additional components I'll need to do the conversion.
Question: Why am I doing this?
Answer: Save on fuel economy and power steering maintenance.
My Wife has a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx Lt, we recently had a series of factory safety recalls performed. Now we have a message coming up saying "POWER STEERING" and the steering wheel is tight and kind of jerky. We didn't have this much trouble before we had the recalls done.
View 10 RepliesLast night, our '06 Honda Odyssey's red "charging system indicator" light came on. I quickly looked it up in the book, as sudden red lights on our car scare me, and it said that "The battery is not being charged. Go to a service station or garage where you can get technical assistance." Well, that was useful. It's Sunday.We turned off all the extra electric (a/c, lights, etc)on the way home. On the way home (less than 5 miles) several other indicator lights flashed on and off periodically.
The ABS, VSA and brake system indicator lights. We also noted that the headlights seemed dimmer than normal. When we got home, the front end smelled hot, but no smoke or anything. This morning, I looked to make sure all connections were tight, and they were. We had turned the master light switch off last night, but the door lights (on the bottom edge came on when I opened the door. Other than that, we have not tried cranking it, as I'm afraid that it will totally drain the battery.
I went to look at a 2009 GS450h today. Great car and looking to buy but have two questions:
Firstly, when I sat in and pressed the Power button the car started on petrol, not electric power, which I wasn't expecting as i understood the 450H always starts on battery. Am i right or getting mixed up?
Secondly, and maybe linked to the above, when I looked in the boot (trunk?) the cover was off the small battery located on the lh side. I suspect they may have been using a booster pack to get the car going (as car dealers often do) but isn't this a big no no for the 450H.
I have an Accent 2008 model and i have a problem with the steering of my car. Sometimes the EPS lamp indicator turns on and the electric motor stop working. I stop the engine of my car and i turn it on again and everything is ok. Is any solution or i must change the whole steering system as Hyundai said?

View 1 RepliesI have installed an auxiliary electric fan at the radiator on our 1973 Mercury Capri and it’s controlled by an adjustable thermostatic switch. Wanting to know when the fan comes on, I wired an LED indicator light to fan side of the thermostatic switch and mounted it inside the car. Mission failure.
The light comes on just from leakage through the thermostat. Ok, I figured maybe this is an LED issue. But no, a test with an incandescent bulb showed the same issue.
If the pilot light is going to glow all the time (dim at idle and brighter with revs, by the way), then it’s no good for the purpose intended. A resistor, maybe?
I recently purchased a used GS350 AWD.After purchasing it, I replaced all of the wheel bearing hub assemblies. The rear ones were grinding, and I decided to just do all 4 at the same time.
After swapping the hub assemblies, the slip indicator light comes on when I go 55+ mph. It's usually when I push on the accelerator. It's not always on. It goes on, then turns off for a while. Sometimes when accelerating it doesn't come on at all. When the light turns on, I loose power for a few seconds but I don't hear or feel any braking.
I have tried an alignment, reset the YAW sensor, etc. The mechanic had a very expensive snap on diagnostic computer and he said everything seems to check out. The steering angle is good, acceleration looks good.
I'm thinking that either one of the hub assemblies has a slight defect that affects the ABS sensors, my VSC computer needs replacing, or YAW sensor starting to go bad.
I have a 2009 GS 350 and I attempted to start it today but when I tried to start it up it wouldn't fire up as all the ignition lights kept coming on and I pressed the button repeatedly but couldn't start. After a few attempts I noticed the brake was still down from pressing it while I push the start button but the car still won't start. After a while I noticed none of the lights won't come on so I assume its the battery but then I notice the warning light that came on and in the owners manual they call it the Malfunction indicator Light. It states a malfunction in either the emission control, engine control, throttle control or automatic control systems. It says call the dealer if this occurs which I will do tomorrow.
View 3 RepliesThursday driving home from work, the thing started dinging and all sorts of lights started flashing at me. I looked in the manual and (finally) found that it is the TPMS. The orange light on the left side blinks for 1 minute and then stays on steady. I also see "Check System" in the display under the speedometer and there is a red light with an explanation point (!) on the right side. Checked all tire pressure. All were at 30 PSI. Checked spare, it was good. Manual says if it blinks and stays steady, contact your dealer. Called...they can't look at it until Feb. 12. I drive 40 miles a day on average. Not a lot, but by 2/12 that is several hundred miles. what could be wrong and if i should still be driving this car?

View 14 RepliesI have a 2013 SE/Limited with only 2800 miles on it. I understand that the Sonata has a great electric power steering system; however, I find it to be a little TOO powerful. Yesterday I was coming home on the highway doing about 65 MPH and I noticed how it's terribly hard to keep the car going straight down the road without constantly having to move the steering wheel. It's almost as though the electric power steering is too lose. I want to drive my car, but it's sorta uncomfortable how I'm always battling it to not meander all over the lane. I never remember having to battle the steering system in my '01 Accord EX V-6 while driving..
View 13 RepliesMy electric power steering went out and simultaneously the red power steering light illuminated on the dash. I pulled off the road and turned the car completely off and restarted. Normal steering resumed. I took the to the dealership and they got a code for "Steering Angle Sensor". The mechanic said replacing that would probably not fix the problem and said the whole steering column would need replacing. He said the steering checked out fine and passed all tests while in the shop and did not recommend doing any repair. He said it may never fail again.
A month later I had the same power steering problem happened again and was again able to fix by turning the car off then back on again. I took it to a different dealership for troubleshooting and they said they were not able to communicate with the "power steering control module." They recommended changing the module. I have checked for recalls and contacted GM and they said it is out of warranty. The car has 58000 miles.
Electric power steering failing when starting the car and driving right away without warming it up?
My 2009 ISF has recently started doing this occasionally. It was when I started the car for the first time of the day, and pulled away within 10 seconds or so. When I let it "warm up" for a minute I have not had it happen.
But the thing is, I've had the car for a few months and have never had this happen until now. My mechanic plugged it in to the computer and there are no codes up, or in the history.

I bought the used 2006 Lexus 148,000 miles few days ago now when driving its showing on the dash check PCS system.
I took it to the local garage they plugged in Techstream and said they are no faults are recorded.
I called today Lexus Oxford, Lexus Reading and they said they will start with the initial diagnostic diagnostic using the Lexus software and will then proceed further according to the trouble codes.
I told them that as the local garage have used Techstream were unable to find any trouble code, after that they said that they have to start with the initial diagnostic and will charge me for that and after that they will they how many more hours are need for checking , its ridiculous .
1) Check PCS System.
2) How can I check the health of the Hybrid battery as battery bars are charging and discharging too quickly.
I have done 2 searches but came up with nothing regarding a 2010 LS 460L. My security system indicator lights are flashing 24/7 regardless of the car being locked or not. Page 113 is not very clear about how to shut them off. I played with so many buttons yesterday after we got home with the car I may have triggered something without even knowing it. I do not recall that they were doing that yesterday when we picked the car up.
View 13 RepliesSo the check system light went on after driving 30 minutes then hitting traffic. Would it be possible that it's the TPMS telling me the tire pressure is low? The tires i have are 245 30 and 285 25..the psi on both tires on the driver side are at 30 and the passenger side are both at 33. could that be the reason? What the recommended PSI is for tires that size?
