I have a 2006 GS300. Changed out the battery today, and immediately after the AC quit working. Pushing the climate control button reveals the message "Check the connection of the air conditioner".

Everything on the Info/Nav Center screen seems to work, at least as far as I know so far, except when I push the "Climate" button, I get the blank screen with the exception of the "Check the connection of the air conditioner" message.
When I got it, the A/C wasn't working, but it was trying. Today I added gas to the system (it was a bit low) and cleaned the cabin air filter (disgustingly dirty, with next to no air movement through it). Now A/C is there! (it is 100+ today!)
To get around the missing climate control screen (and what I assume are controls thereon) I turn on the recirculation button and also the "auto" button, and raise or lower the temperature controls. Heat works when I turn the temp up, A/C tries when I turn it down. But I still get the message on the control screen.
I assume that the control screen for "climate" also includes some widgets for controlling and/or setting options, such as (hopefully) just running the fan without A/C with external air (should I so desire on a cooler day) and stuff like that.
I have seen others fix the similar problems by reconnecting some clips behind the screen, which I can certainly try out, but seems like the other similar problems, when the issue was a wire loom connector behind the screen, that they had other problems, such as the A/C not working.
I THINK all my systems are working, I just can't see the climate control screen. All the other systems (audio, settings, maps (different subject later *L*), etc. all work and seem to display OK, so I don't think it's the screen.
After installing new battery, I have no functioning air conditioning or heating system. When I select the climate button I get a message (check connection to air condition). What is going on?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 rx330 and it's recently been acting up. Sometimes the heat and air won't work, there is a noticeable difference in the way the car drives too.
I hit climate and it shows check air conditioner connection line and nothing works, it's making for very cold drives to and from work.
What is the problem and fix when you have a check air conditioner msg scroll across the GPS screen?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 GX470 with 174,000 miles. It continues to be a great vehicle.
Recently my air conditioning system only blows warm air in both the front and rear. When I start the vehicle, the Navigation screen flashes the message "Check Air Conditioner", then the A/C button on the Climate screen flashes.
I have searched the forums and read every post regarding this issue, and it seems that one possible fix is the "magnetic clutch relay", but the link to Sewel Lexus lists this part as belonging to the ES330, and NOT the GX470. There is NO such part listed for the GX470 on that website.
One other post suggested that the author pull the AC error codes, but I don't know how to do that on the GX470.
I had a new compressor installed on '07 ES350 and now every now and then the AC button light blinks, the cool air shuts down and I get a message on the screen saying "Check Air Conditioner".
It only occurs occasionally --maybe not at all one day and two or three times another day. I returned to the shop that installed the compressor and they don't seem to know what is causing the problem. (They said maybe a freon overfill and adjusted that --but it's still occurring.)
Jumped into the Prius this morning to discover dash lights working, no radio etc so vehicle would not turn on. Replaced the auxiliary battery (about 5 years old.) Now all dash light, radio etc are looking great BUT:
- Enngine will not engage
- Message stating Check Hybrid System
- Various waning lights on dash (yellow waning triangle, swerve icon on left)(battery, brake, chech engine, steering wheel?) and abs!!!on the right)
recently I change my stock stereo to an after market one n now mfd screen as the check air condition connection message on it so did some research n found out I have to change it out so went to a local yard and bought one and same message, changed it out for another one same thing so about five trys later so same thing! Is it possible that all those screen were broken or is there another problem goin on?
View 6 RepliesI've noticed that the car has started to give me all the dummy messages, particlarly "CHECK 4WD" when I turn the ignition on without the engine running. If I then hold the brake pedal and start the engine, the message remains. If I turn the ignition off, and then start normally with the brake pedal depressed and start the engine it goes all normally and "CHECK OK" and I never get any errors when driving. I also noticed when this happens the AFS light is flashing as well - well, basically every warning on the dash is lit.
So, what's up with that ... I know it's normal for all the dash lights to light when the ignition is on and engine is off but I never noticed CHECK 4WD in this state previously. I haven't really noticed if it happens every time but it seems to happen quite a bit when I just turn the ignition back on to do something like close the moonroof if I forgot it. It's also odd that it doesn't clear when starting the car without first turning ignition off after that.
I assume that nothing is actually broken because it all behaves normally when starting the car regularly and the car does not complain at all when driving around.
Which way can I go here for a spare key fob that no longer works? Will I have to buy a brand new one or can I just replace the battery inside?
View 3 Replies I've been driving Lexus since 1995. My new GS is a 2008 model (with a President pack according to local French definition). I use windows phones (Lumia series) and I can easily connect these phones for conversations while driving over BT. But when I try to transfer my contact data to the car, the BT connection fails and when I stop this transfer, the BT connection comes alive again.
I only have/use windows phone (windows 10 and windows 8.1). any hint where I could look to to solve this problem ?
another question related to this : can I stream audio from my phone to the Mark Levinson system via BT ? apparently it does not work with my windows phones .
Sometimes when I startup I get the message "Air Conditioner Off". This has only been happening for the past few weeks and never before. I wonder why now and not before. Have 22,600 miles.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2003 GX with DVD & NAV. The DVD gives me a message on the rear screen that says "Disk Check" and then never plays the disk. I tried multiple disks and am pretty sure the DVD unit is toast. Looking forward to replace the DVD unit in the center console?

View 5 Replies1. I think my battery is getting weak.... when i cranked it, it didnt sound strong and the original battery eye says to add distilled water. I am thinking about getting a replacement battery at Costco.
2. so right after it started, the message of "Check Brake System" shows up. Tried to restart but no go. Drove about 15 miles and all seems fine but message is still there.
* is it OK to replace with a Costco brand battery (they have a great returns policy) and is there anything i need to do before or after replacement?
* could the Check Brake System be due to the weak battery? How can I reset it?
* Anything else that can cause this error message?
I just replaced my batteries today on my 2011 F250 because of a no start situation. I guess it was about due since they were original and that gives me 5 + years of service and it happened in my driveway so I definitely am not complaining. However after I replaced them and started the truck the check eng lite came on....

The Auto button for the parking brake seems to flicker, and the park light on the dash blinks. Car make ding sound while driving.
2008 LS460
So I just purchased my new-to-me, CPO 2010 RX 350 two weeks ago. It had 81,750 miles when I purchased it, and it now has about 83,000 miles. I just came back from a weekend vacation, having driving about 500 miles total. This morning when I turned on the car, I noticed a message saying "Check AWD System," the check engine light was on, the general warning light was on, and the traction control light was on. As I was driving, I realized that the car wasn't downshifting properly. I didn't drive faster than 40 mph on my morning commute. When the car did downshift, it was a hard, jerky shift.
I did some reading on the forum, and many people suggested all the warning lights could be fixed by taking off and retightening the gas cap (due to the vehicle not reading the emissions properly or something?). I also read that topping off and overfilling the gas tank can be cause for the warning lights to go on. I did fill up once on my way home from my vacation, and haven't filled up since.
Anyways, I just now tried to adjust the gas cap and then restart the car, but the warning lights are still on. What I should do or if I should drive it a bit to let the emissions build up again? My problem is is that I live about 6 hours from a Lexus dealership, so I'm trying to figure out if I can resolve this on my own or what I should tell a mechanic specifically if I need to take it in.
