My sound in my GS went out today. I can see everything functioning on the head unit but the DSP button has disappeared and my eq only shows bass and treble no mids. Also the grid where you control fade and balance does not show the yellow line. I've been thinking about a full audio swap speakers amp sub so tell me what I'm looking at here.
View 7 Replies2006 Lexus gs300.. Yesterday I lost all sound. No sound from the CD, FM, Tape, etc. When I turn the volume up, it doesn't even go from 1-62 nothing comes up at all. Plus when I go into audio settings, it doesn't let me adjust the bass or treble, and the mid is not even available there anymore, and the fade left to right and front to back is also un adjustable?

First: when put the car on " D" position. I feel the car do it twice so I need to wait. For that two duf befor going.
Second: when I try to slow down while driving. There is big boom sound. When the transmission go back from 3 to 2 gear and also from 2 to 1 which. Is harder (as someone crashed me from behind) . There is no engine light or any thing else. And I have scanned the car myself and there is no Codes for any thing.
"Clunk" noise when shifting from P or R to D happening to me right now with my '06 GS300. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happened all day yesterday and sounded pretty serious. Took it into the dealer today, still under warranty, and of course it wasn't happening. Tech said he will keep it overnight, let it cool down, and check transmission fluid level which could be the issue. If that isn't the issue they said it could just be a "normal" sound. My wifes 2006 Sequoia shifts smoother and doesn't make a sound when you go from P or R to D ... Don't tell me it is the break pads releasing either because that is just as far fetched as the normal theory.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 GS350 ML. Recently the CD player has no sound. It plays the cd and you can change tracks, yet no sound comes out. While the cd is playing, you don't have the ability to change the volume. Sound does come out on the radio and XM. When I play a MP3 CD sound does come out and i can change the volume. when i'm playing a cd and hit a small pothole or road marker sound comes back on. Don't know if it's a loose wire or something.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2006 Lexus GS, my phone is a Galaxy Note 2 N7100, everything was working perfectly until Android 4.2.2, but ever since I updated to Android 4.3 I started to have problems. The problem is that sometimes I don't hear the sound from the car's speakers but instead I hear it from the phone, the thing is that it's intermittent . Sometimes it works perfectly and other times it doesn't.
I'm so mad as I won't be able to update my phone and buy a Note 3 which already comes with Android 4.3, unfortunately I got back my phone to Android 4.2 and it's working perfectly.
I'm having 06 GS300. Just got the car about 2 months ago with 108,000k / 1 owner and she rides like a champ and I love this car! I want to do some preventive maintenance on her so she can keep me riding in style for years to come. The few things that I have noticed are as follows.....
1. Clanking sound in front end suspension when I roll over small bumps. It does not happen all the time, but it is noticeable. Almost sounds like a loose center cap on a set of rims. That's the sound I liken it to. Sounds like two pieces of metal hitting together. I was thinking some bushings maybe.
2. Squeaking coming from my front drivers side when turning the wheel while backing out of driveway or driving into driveway and when negotiating changes in the road while driving. Not very loud.
3. Suspension seems a little flat and I feel as though the struts and shocks need to be replaced. I'm wanting to lower it to fill the wheel wells and add a set on 20' rims offset 9.5 on front 10 on the back.
I just had my front passenger window replaced due to an attempted break in, and I noticed now that my window sounds very harsh rolling up and down versus my other three windows. The window goes up and down at the same speed as the other windows that wasn't touched, but now its just not as quiet as the others; which to me now is more of an annoying sound.
View 5 RepliesSo, lately I've noticed a slight fluttering sound in my '08 GS460 when accelerating on the freeway or up a slight incline. It'll kick in around 2,000-4,000 RPM, and it almost sounds like it's coming from right underneath the center console. I did have an exhaust system installed, then uninstalled, so maybe it's something the shop did, but can't be positive whether or not it was there before (always drive with my music on pretty loud).
View 4 RepliesI've been trying to get my dealer to take a look at my noisy engine. The loud clicking sound is getting really annoying. When at idle sitting at a red light, my car would click like my old - 1987 Toyota beater..
I brought it in 2 times to have the dealer check it out, but they would said its "normal" and that the high pressure injectors and fuel pump are loud on our 3GS.
So i was wondering to try using heat wrap to try to reduce the noise from the fuel pump. It seems like the fuel pump is making the most noise.
Lexus GS 350 2008After an oil change from Lexus in (New York) I noticed a rattling sound coming from the engine, took it back to them and they said there is nothing wrong. Paid $150+tax for an engine diagnose at another lexus dealer and again they say engine is fine.
Few weeks later engine light came on "engine light check VSC" and the rattling sound became louder and a slight fast. Took it to the 3rd party warranty mechanic and they scanned to read the codes:DTC P0019
P0017 CRANKSHAFT POSITION - CAMSHAFT POSITION CORRELATION.
The guy told me the timing is off on the timing chain/belt (something – I really didn’t understand the technical stuff) and also said there is a recall for this problem "intake VVT Actuator Gear" so you should take it to lexus and they will fix it with no cost. I called Lexus to find out if there is a recall on my vehicle and they said yes there is one for the "intake VVT Actuator Gear".
My question is, if these codes are related to this recall? Would this really fix the problem with the engine light and the rattling sound "tak tak tak tak"? Or is these are two separate problems?
I have an 07 GS 350. When I'm driving on any winding road, every time I turn the wheel to the right, I hear a kind of scraping sound for as long as the steering wheel is turned even a little. It's only when I turn the wheel to the right and only and only the front left tire.
I thought it might be the disc brake dust shield, but I pulled the tire off, took a look, and can see that it isn't touching the rotor anywhere. There really isn't much else that I can think of that it could be, so I'm basically stumped. The brake pads are nice and thick and everything looks really good.
I was trying to change my disk from 12.1 to 13.1 in my 2008 GS 350 AWD. so I ejected the disk via the screen, took it out and put the new one in. Started making a continuous clicking sound and then took the disk half-way out then in then totally out. Ok, maybe a bad disk so I tried to put 12.1 back in and same thing happened. Ok now I tired the original disk that came with the car. Same thing. Very odd. It worked fine up until the second I took it off.
View 14 RepliesI drive a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with 60,000 miles on it. Today I was running an errand I parked my car and then went back to work. After four hours I came back to the parking lot and heard a really low beeping sound coming from the parking lot. It turned out to be my car. I tried to open the car door with my keyfob and nothing was working. I opened the door manually and was not able to turn the ignition on as there was no internal power. I finally jump started the car and alarm went off as the car started.
I got the battery tested and the battery was completely fine. I called the Lexus dealership and explained the problem and the technician did not think there was anything wrong with the starter or anything else with the engine. The gentleman I spoke to thought you might have been Keyfob battery that may have caused this. One thing that I noticed last couple of Was that the car air filter needs to be changed. Could that have caused this to happen?
Temperature has been in the 90s in the week or so! The car was parked in a covered parking ramp!
So I've been driving my 3GS 350 and every time i make a right turn the left wheel makes this metal shaking sound? or scraping sound? I've checked it out seems like nothings in the way but I don't know how to tell if i have a bad wheel bearing..

While I'm driving my car ( at a rolling speed 5mph-20mph) I get a clicking sound from front driver side when I hit a small bump, stop, and stop and go at a traffic light. Mainly clicking noise when I hit bumps, but when traveling at highway speeds and I hit a bump I do not hear the clicking noise. ITS VERY ANNOYING, and I have never heard this noise after the brutal snow we just got here in MA. Also I should add, I am currently on BC Racing BR type coil overs which I bought brand new and installed in October. Its not clunking like ball joints, or banging like a blown strut mount.
My question; Where to start? Something needs lubrication?
My left headlight has been going off periodically, so to confirm that it's the bulb, tonight I switched the bulbs from left to right/right to left.
The job went very smoothly. It took me about 20 minutes, but I took my time. I buttoned everything back up and turned on the lights. Both sides came on, but I immediately noticed a very loud buzzing/whining sound coming from both headlamps. It is very loud and I know I would have noticed it before at some point over the course of the last three years that I've owned the car. Obviously, this is not normal, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I could have done wrong, if anything.
I have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with the Mark Levinson audio system. I am starting to hear a sound from the passenger side door speaker like a rattling when there is low bass in a song. I wanted to know much it should cost me to have all the speakers replaced to higher quality ones.
I don't need crazy bass that will make my windows shatter, however currently these speakers feel like if I put any hip hop or dubstep on more speakers will blow. I do NOT want to have to cut any part of my car to install new speakers, I am not comfortable with someone cutting holes or making bigger holes to fix the new speakers.
What the defective part could be? GS300 has run 90.000km, sound can be recognized by passing for example gullys or small bumps with speed of ~20km/h. Increasing speed let the sound disappear. I have already replaced stabilizer bar bushes, link assy and lower ball joint assy.

I noticed that the driver side front wheel makes a metallic scraping noise while the car is turning right. It sounds like something scraping the rotor or shield behind the rotor ( a rotational/moving kind of scraping noise)
This only happens on a relatively sharp turn (wheel is turned 70~80% to the right). I don't suspect the power steering as there is no noise if the car is not moving even when wheel is turned to extremes. The scraping noise happens at any speed, as long as the car is moving. does not happen when car is turning left.
Note that I am 90% certain it is from the front... my ears may be playing a trick on me (kind of hard to listen precisely while driving). Where to start looking?
I recently notice the front right tire on my GS makes a bearing sound like at 40mph and increases at 55mph. Anything after 60mph is not too bad. I looked at the tire and notice the inner top of the tire is wavy. My brother says the strut is bad. I think not because, the car dose not bounce and strut is dry of fluids. The car has 38K miles on it, alignment was done by dealer at 35K ...
I did rotate the tires front to rear sound went away for a day and started back up again.so I know its not the bearing. Do I need better tires? another alignment? or strut?
