I have a 2008 GS 350.........85k miles. Last week noticed an annoying rattle in front passenger door towards the top just below the window. Should I bring this up to the service technician at my next Lexus dealer service visit?
View 1 RepliesJust in case the dealer wants to be a jerk and skip fixing the rattles I have on my car, just curious about creaking noises coming from the front doors. I have one that is pretty bad on the passenger side door. It sounds like a small creek, it happens when i go through roads that are not perfect. The noise goes away if I push against the door panel, not so much when I yank it in. I currently have a broken driver seat too, so hard to pinpoint if I have the exact same problem on the driver side front door, but the creaking is the same.
View 14 RepliesI notice the door rattles a lot now, more noticeably over bumps. Also, I don't really turn my music that loud, but when it is I can hear the rattle as well. Any quick fixs for this? Or would it be easier to get the dealer to try to fix this during my 5000 mile maintenance?
View 6 RepliesFront passenger door rattles on cold idle. When the engine starts up when cold, the passenger door panel resonates with engine idle. It doesn't rattle with bumps on the road, just the engine vibration.
I took it to a dealer and they added some foam padding and I thought it was fixed, but the next day I noticed the same issue except now the buzzing is "tighter" and faster and a bit muffled. Opening the door stops it. After the engine warms up and idles at a different RPM, it is no longer noticeable.
What this is?
The second rattle started when the weather cooled down for winter. The center console rattles with bumps in the road.
These noises are minor, but so annoying, so I need to get it fixed soon.
I am on my 3rd GTI, a 2013 GTI Autobahn, came out of 2011 GTI Sunroof/conv model. I have various rattling noises in this car. The sunglasses holder rattles all the time especially when i am listening to music with a little bass, the roof rattles a bit but that seems to go away if i close the sunroof shade, also my front passenger door rattles.

View 3 RepliesI have a problem, the passenger front door won't open from inside or out, neither handle on the inside or out works.
The lock goes up and down and the handles move but you can feel that they are not connected to anything. I took it to two mechanics and they shrugged.
If I can't open the door, I can't take the panels off and look inside the door. What I can do? I hate to destroy my door panel.
Front passenger seat rattles when the road is rough. Didn't notice it last week but it is noisy today. When I put my hand between the seat and center console, the sound stops. Is this common for a new Avalon? Is it an easy fix?
View 8 RepliesThe little piece that flips when you lock the doors (you know what I mean, it is orange when it's open) has been acting up on my 06 Sonata. If you move it by hand it's fine (the door locks and unlocks) but when you use the fob and lock or unlock the doors, sometimes this one just doesn't move.
It looks like it wants to go, but doesn't. If you press lock and unlock again, it opens. on occasion.
I wanted to try FordJunkyNC's way to run a jumper to stop the alarm from going off, but my problem is the passenger front, not the rear... different color coding on the wires..
Jumped the passenger front door? If so, which wires did you jump? Want to jump the 06 Escape doors, just don't want to short anything out...
The back of my passenger seat rattles, resonating when going over bumps (and not weighted with a passenger). I've lifted my back on the driver's seat and it doesn't seem to rattle over the same bumps. How to tighten it up?
View 4 RepliesHere is what is happening, if I press the unlock and lock button on remote or from any switch in the car , the front passenger door will not unlock! all of the doors will lock and unlock, except the front passenger dorr will not unlock only, it does lock,just not unlock, i think it may be a bad motor or actuator, I am sure it will be covered under the CPO warranty, especially since its only been less than 1 week since i had it.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with the Mark Levinson audio system. I am starting to hear a sound from the passenger side door speaker like a rattling when there is low bass in a song. I wanted to know much it should cost me to have all the speakers replaced to higher quality ones.
I don't need crazy bass that will make my windows shatter, however currently these speakers feel like if I put any hip hop or dubstep on more speakers will blow. I do NOT want to have to cut any part of my car to install new speakers, I am not comfortable with someone cutting holes or making bigger holes to fix the new speakers.
So I hit a pot hole today and bust my front passenger tire, and possibly bent my frame on the front end.
I have an 07 350 AWD.
2006 with 110K. I did a search for rattles. My question is do these struts have bushings or shims that wear out over time. Going down the road car is nice and quiet. Hit some bumps and it sounds like it is coming apart.
View 5 RepliesI got my 08 Azera Limited two weeks ago (it's a used vehicle, less than one year old with only 7,500 miles on it.... it's a Carmax car, but after the purchase I got it checked through by a dealer and everything seems to be fine. Interior looks and smells like new, 3 minor scratches in the paint which have been fixed... nothing else. considering i paid less than 20k, not a bad deal).
However, I noticed a few things (within the past two weeks):
1) power steering noise. When the engine is on (the car can be in park or drive) and I start moving the steering wheel (even if I move it only VERY slightly), I can hear a softly grinding/whining noise.... it occurs when i move the wheel right or left. when the car is moving faster than lets say 20mph ... you tend not to hear it because other noises (wind, street, engine) cover it up. But it's clearly there when you drive very slowly and it's quiet (parking garage etc).
The PS fluid is ok and i cannot detect any leaks. I assume the noise is a "noisy" PS pump or it's the pressure in the PS system which makes those whiny noises.
2) rattles. I read most of the rattles post here and I have to admit, that my 08 Azera has some rattles too. Nothing serious, but it shows that the Azera is not quite Lexus class.
The most annoying rattle i have is in the drivers door. it comes from the speaker area (the upper speaker in the drivers door) and something in there seems to rattle. It's most obvious when I go less than 60mph and the pavement/street is bad - there are vibrations in the car. unfortunately i don't think i can fix that rattle without opening the speaker cover or so. wonder if hyundai fixes rattles after the 12 month adjustment warranty??
The second rattle I have is the center speaker in the dashboard. if i go on vibrating pavement less than 40mph i can sometimes hear that speaker rattle... if i put the hand on it, it disappears for a while and then comes back again.... unfortunately roads here in texas do suck big time (concrete pavement patchwork with lots of holes....) and so I can hear that rattle a few times on my way to work.
The most annoying rattle came from the back seats but was in fact the tool box on the spare tire in the trunk. i turned that plastic piece on the spare tire a few degrees until it fit better and the rattle disappeared. if it comes up again i will try to put a blanket on top of the spare tire. it's interesting who much noise comes from the trunk into the main cabin.
I haven't had any suspension problems so far and I think the Azera suspension is quite stiff but very sporty. Back in Germany I had a 06 Audi A4 TDi as a company car and the A4 suspension was somewhat comparable to the Azera.
I bought my GS new and it has 40K miles now. It is a 2010 GS AWD. Yesterday I get off work, a hot day, I get in the car, started the car, and passenger front window rolled down by it self. I tried to rolled it back up and it would not go up. I shut the car off and re-started and was able to roll it up.
I thought maybe it was the heat. The next day it happened again, but this time while I was driving. There are no funny noises coming from in side the door and no water has ever gotten in there. I also never leave the windows cracked instead I raise the sun roof up for heat to escape. I find this very odd self-operating window. The rest of the windows work just fine.
Battery has never been disconnected. what may be causing this window to operate on its own? a lose wire maybe?
Just a couple weeks ago this annoying rattle started in passenger dashboard.

View 1 RepliesMy 2008 460 has the damn peeling drip molding on the passenger side. I found a wrecked 07 gs of the same color in a local wrecking yard and I was wondering how hard it is to pull off the drip molding myself. Do I need any special service tools? Don't want to damage my car.
View 2 RepliesI owned a 99 f250 a little while ago. Just bought a 2006 crewcab F150 xlt about 2 months ago, and for the past month there has been this unusual grinding or whirring like noise coming from the front passenger side wheel.
I took it to the mechanic and he found a bad wheel bearing on drivers side and replaced it but that wasn't the issue. He could hear the noise but wasn't able to figure out what the actual issue was.
The noise only happens when my foot is on the throttle. (not when coasting) and i also just discovered that it doesn't make any noise at all when put in 4x4.
