My 2008 gs 350 E-brake or parking brake isn't as tight anymore on a hill it doesn't stop my car when applied when parked how to adjust this? I rather not go to the dealer if its a simple fix?
View 5 RepliesMy '07 GS350 recently began exhibiting brake squeal when brakes were gently applied. I subsequently took it to my dealer for a multipoint inspection, with the results being the car was fine, including the brakes. I was told the squeak was the result of brake dust, and nothing to worry about.
Since the inspection, I noticed the right front wheel is accumulating brake dust, but none of the others are; and the noise is irritating. I called my SA yesterday and explained the situation. He reviewed the car's service history, and noted the front pads were replaced with noiseless/dustless pads 40k miles ago. I agreed. He again said it was nothing to worry about. My thoughts are I'll have to put new pads on the front, even though the current ones are fine.
I'm looking at buying a 2006 GS300 AWD with 91K miles for 18K. My husband noticed when you touch on the brakes they vibrate/chatter..? The previous owner took very good care of it and I believe it is all hwy miles. The part that is weird to us after looking over the car fax, we noticed from 2006 to present it has been in the shop anywhere from 2000 to 5000 miles getting new brakes, pads, tires fixed, rotations, tires fixed etc.. Does this year have problems with the brake system? Has there been a recall on the brake system? I'm finding 2006 has other problems but I can't find anything on the brakes. Also, when you look at the menu for service on the nav screen the brakes and oil are red lite...?
View 6 RepliesI just purchased a used 2007 Lexus GS 350 AWD. I had it inspected and there were some minor problems (air filter, small oil issue) but nothing big. Driving it, I've noticed that the wheel shakes a little bit when applying brakes and based on my google searches, it's likely a rotor problem. I've literally only driven the car less than 100 miles since it was inspected. Does the inspection place (Tires Plus) bear any responsibility for clearing the inspection on the car? Should I take the car to Tires Plus to look at or should I take it somewhere else?
View 11 RepliesSo I was told I had a brake light out? Went and bought new bulb and replaced. Turn on headlights and the single filament lights. so when brakes are applied the second filament should light up that give the brighter affect.
Well when brakes applied the bulb goes out completely? Take foot off brake and the single filament comes back on. The other tail light operates as it should. Even used bulb from working tail light with same results.
So on our trip up here I experienced a strange problem. Normally when I apply my brakes my trailer brakes kick in via the controller. This time when I apply the brakes I'm only getting my truck brakes. I can still use the brake controller manually to slow down but it's worrying. What is going on.
View 7 RepliesBack in April when I was getting my car inspected the mechanic told me I needed new rear brake pads. I knew I did so I let him change them.
Now I get noisy brake pads this moaning sound out of them when I apply the brakes while I'm backing out of a parking spot or my driveway. I've only driven about 5 or 6 hundred miles since then.
2008 Passat Komfort Wagon with 34,500 miles. Started to get grinding sound when I applied brakes, which diminishes as I drive. Thought it was rust, but sound is very loud and sounds just like pads are gone and digging into rotors. The brake warning light is not on.
Dealer told me rear caliper was closing unevenly and recommended service---not covered by warranty of course. When I picked-up car same noise as before. The service manager told be that the car was just washed and the rust built up in the last hour---I could believe some built-up, but the sounds made my teeth ache. When we went for a test drive the noise got quiter, but was still apparent. The SM told me this is a "normal" noise. I have had many cars with disc brakes, dating back to a 1960 Jaguar; none have made this "normal" sound.
I have 2008 Hyundai Sonata. I hear some noise from front wheels when i turn to right or left with breaks applied. There is no any noise when turning without break. the cv joint has been replaced but no any result. Still there is noise.

View 2 RepliesI just purchased a 2012 GX Ultra! So in the contract from the Toyota dealer (where we purchased the truck from) offered a 36 day "warranty" which says they will cover any problem that we experience from time of purchase to the 36 day mark.
The vehicle came to us clean, one owner, and the Lexus warranty for the 4 yr OR 80,000 KM just ended. The warranty just reached the 4 yr mark and has only 78,000 KM. Firstly we we called Lexus Canada to try to get info on extended warranty or as they call it "ECP". They said the local dealer usually does provide the warranty in a short time frame after expiration like this.
Secondly we are experiencing a sort of rumble when the brakes are applied. We felt this rumble on the test drive, and told the sales person we wanted this fixed before we drove off the lot. When we did leave it still had the rumble. Now we might think it is a mechanism within the car to alert the driver the brakes are being applied.

My brakes squeak while I'm driving, but go away when I apply pressure to the brakes. Why?
View 6 RepliesI have been doing my own brakes for years. I have had some that were not easy to keep from squealing but this one has me wanting to get rid of the car. We have a 2008 Dodge Magnum R/T package. Roughly 38K miles on the car. When the car reached around 10K miles the rear passenger wheel would squeal when you applied the brake. Rotor surface was smooth as glass. I took off the rear rotors only and had them turned. Problem went away for about 5K miles. Then the fronts started squealing.
I replaced the fronts because hte factory did not leave any material to be turned and noted that Dodge glued the pads to the calipers like they would never need to come off. Problem went away for a little while. Then it came back with a vengeance. I replaced the pad material on the fronts with ThermoQuiet pads from Raybestos. Problem is coming back again and now I cannot tell which end of the car it is even coming from because it it so loud. My wife drives this car very carefully. My thought is she is polishing the rotors too smooth and this is our source of noise.
We are at the point of squealing again and I am at my wits end with this. If I light foot it, no noise. If I stop like I think it should be stopped, not killing it, the noise is there. If I stop very quickly about 3 to 5 times in a row the noise is gone for a little while until the pads cool and then it is back even if I am on the same journey.
I have a 2008 Chevy Malibu. Lately when the engine is cold I will get to the end of the street and when I apply the brakes the car will make a clunking noise and a couple of times it has actually died and I have to restart the car. I only experience this the first thing in the morning, after that the car seems fine. I cannot tell if it is the brakes causing the problem or the transmission.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2000 F250 PSD. When applying the brakes, the rear end starts jumping and bucking. The effect is exaggerated when pulling a trailer and applying the truck brakes to stop. The problem does not occur when manually applying the trailer brakes. It was suggested to me that this problem is caused by a hydro boost leak.

I took it to a local mechanic as well as Hyundai service and after a couple of thousand dollars, it still makes the noise . Both upper and bottom control arms were changed, rotors, pads, brakes, bearings, strut mount, and some other minor stuff that I can't recall...its loud and ANNOYING....

The pedal has been getting spongier & spongier over the past months. Truck still stops O.K. but you have to brake earlier than I used to. Pedal can go almost to the floor. Pedal continues to go to floor as pressure is applied. Does not go to floor though.

When apply brakes the front end shimmies until car completely stopped then go again & all is well until at some future time it happens again. Dealer checked twice & private repair checked also. Nothing found. Tires re-balanced & rotated several times. Newer tires with no issues. This is an INTERMITTENT problem. The rotors have been, new pads & spring installed.

1. When I apply the brakes, there is some vibrating sounds coming...
2. The passenger side front tire does not hold air more than 25-26 psi.. If I raise it to 34 or even 32 psi, it drops down to 26 psi within a week and then stops leaking...
