About a year ago i notice this vibration and took it to my local lexus shop they stated that my engine mount is bad. bought the mount from lexus and change and vibration is still there...,my question is am i the only one that is having this engine vibration problem or this a common problem for the 06-11 awd.?
View 10 RepliesI recently had my rear engine mount replaced on my 2004 Acura TSX. It was originally identified by the original dealer as requiring replacement and when I took it to anther Mechanic he also verified this and during the replacement he showed me the original engine mount which had a definitive crack.
After installation the Mechanic indicated that the car would feel a little stiff for a while and would smooth out over time. What I found after the first couple of days is that the engine seems to have a significant vibration when I am in idle or after I brake. When the car is in motion there is still a vibration but it is not very noticeable. I just remember from prior feel of the vehicle. This vibration did not exist prior to replacing the rear engine mount.
Is this expected to be normal until I put miles on it. The Acura is a 2004 but only has 75,000 miles. I don't drive it very much but I am concerned that the vibration I feel when I brake may be creating additional damage.
So I replaced the engine and trans engine mounts on my 2004 R32 today. After I got done and drove it there was some serious vibration and gear whine. It also seemed like I wasn't able to transfer all the power to the wheels, it was definitely slower to accelerate. Did something go out of alignment?

View 10 RepliesI notice it happens driving between 20-30 mph and accelerating very slowly. Rpm around 1500. The tranny changes gears up to to 3rd or 4th gear and the vibration starts. If i accelerate, it goes away. During quick acceleration I never notice this vibration. Also if I drive the car in manual and go thru the gears i never notice the stutter. The problem feels like driving a manual car in a higher gear at a low speed and need to downshift.
View 14 RepliesMy mechanic noticed an engine vibration when he was installing my new brake pads and rotors. He noticed the vibration when putting it in reverse. He then checked the engine and mounts. He then asked about the timing belt. I told him the belt was changed at 62,000 miles. The Accent currently has 76,000. He thinks that the belt may have jumped or a counter balancer is not working right. I do not know if the 2007 has a counter balancer. Any diagram of the timing belt, pulleys and counter balance (if it has one). It is a 2007 GLS with auto trans.

View 8 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata, 2.4L 4cyl. and it is making some weird noise as of late. I have done some research and from what I have read it seems like it may be a bad engine mount. One thing to note is that the noise really only happens when the car is cold and hasn't warmed up yet or on a cold day.
Basically the best description is that the noise is a high-pitched rattle/vibration noise. The noise seems to match the vibrations of the engine but doesn't seem to get more intense if I rev the engine. The noise does get quieter if I put it in neutral but it is still there. The noise also happens even if the car is parked and off, and I do something like shut the door or trunk. I haven't gotten a chance to get in there and look under the hood myself to try...
I have a '07 GS350 RWD with 121k miles. I had my transmission fluid drained and refilled at 90k miles.
Every time I go into reverse, there's a clunk noise. But all my gears shift smoothly.
My wife's 2010 ES 350 third brake light has an intermittent LED issue. The last 3 LEDs on the pass side flash on/off when the brake is depressed. My understanding is there may be a broken solder joint. My problem is I can't seem to get the assembly out. How the high mount assembly is mounted and how to remove it?
View 2 RepliesI recently hit 180,000 km on my mileage and all of the sudden theres increased ticking engine noise and vibration. Sounds like a diesel engine. No check engine lights, gas mileage is the same, acceleration is the same and as far as I can tell after checking oil its within normal range for now.
I'm worried its either the VVTi Rubber hose exploded or its the VVTI Camshaft / piston slap issue. My dilemna is I'm 3 hours drive away from a Lexus dealer but there is a Toyota Dealer 10 min away. Should I bring it in to verify theres no oil leak at Toyota and then take it back to a Lexus mechanic to see if it is Camshaft gear ?
I have a 2007 Passat 2.0t Sedan. My wife broke the front engine mount this morning and now it will crank, but will not start. Put my code reader on it and it is throwing camshaft position sensor, misfire cyl. 4, fuel rail pressure low, and Mass Air Flow sensor codes. It looks like the insert of the mount is wedged against the belt. Would the engine mount being broken cause any of these codes for some reason? and would the mount against the belt cause it to not start?
View 6 RepliesMy 2006 AWD LTD 500 has about 52000 miles on it; a slight rattle/clunking noise is intermittently heard on driver's side in engine compartment. Took it in to dealer who says motor mount is cracked and front stabilizer bar joints are worn and both need replacing. Car has only been driven on highways or for short trips (3-4 miles) and has had no impacts nor been driven over rough roads or run over any potholes or such. Should the motor mount be damaged? At 52K miles?? Never heard of such a thing. Ditto, the stabilizer bar joints: worn out in under 60K miles? What can I do about this? Who seek relief from? Ford warranty is, of course, over, and supplemental warrenty will only cover motor mount replacement but not stab bar. Are these parts routinely wearing out at such an early date that repair shops can reap the rewards???
View 4 RepliesI have a 2007 GS 350 AWD and growing frustrated with some of its 'issues'. I have had the wheels replaced b/c they coating was 'bubbling' (the local dealer said this was normal...50,000 miles later this is happening again). At 60,000 miles to have frozen brake calipers replaced...never had this happen on any other vehicles, to include domestics with well over 100,000 miles, much less two of them freeze. A cracked exhaust, not to mentioned multiples recalls on a vehicle that has not even reached 75,000 miles. The engine has funny idling issues at low RPM's and the VSC and Check Engine lights came on list night but have since extinguished.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2007 GS350 that seems to "clatter" when I start the engine after it's been sitting for awhile. The clatter only lasts a couple of seconds but it's annoying....sounds like metal on metal. It does not happen when engine is cold or should I say first thing in the morning. It happens after the car has been driven, sat for a few hours and then the clatter occurs when I start the engine. This started a couple of weeks ago....I have 29,000 miles on it.
Took it to the dealer last week, the service rep told us that this is somewhat common and is due to the high pressure direct injection system on this particular engine. He also said this started when they switched from the GS300 to GS350. I'm wondering why it never happened before. The service rep said there's nothing they can do about relatively new Lexus with relatively low miles.
I've always used premium gasoline, got all my oil changes and maintenance done at the Lexus dealership thus far.
I am considering the purchase of a 2008 LS. After conducting research I've noticed that there is a common issue around an odd vibration problem at certain rpm and around control arm bushing's with these cars. I've also noticed that there is a common issue around air suspension issues. I based my conclusion around threads that seem to pop up constantly.
View 10 RepliesI got a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited, 6 cylinder, 3.3L, at 110,000 miles and since I bought the car, I always had a vibration when the A/C is on. I can feel it in the front of the car somewhere where the pedals are. Ones I turn off the A/C I can feel how the vibration causing thing stops. Is it normal? Can it be one of the A/C motors?

View 14 RepliesSo, I started my journey in getting vibrations out of my car at the dealer (I know, I know, but it's CPO) - had rotors resurfaced, brake job, fluid flushed etc. That worked with pedal pulsing etc.
Now, fast forward 6 months - still have a notable shake at times 40-45, 70-80mph indicated. Took it back to dealer; tires are shot - I figured just a rotate, balance and align would be the cure. I bit the bullet, put on some MXVs and got the car aligned - again, at the dealer. Old tires had the edges fully worn (outside).
Today, after a 200 mile drive, the vibrations are back, and I REALLY don't want to go back to my dealer a third time to resolve this - in addition to not wanting to destroy a brand new set of tires. Who can I turn to to get this under control?
I have been noticing some vibration from the rear of the car while cruising between 75-78 mph. I had the tires balanced at Lexus 2 weeks ago and the car feels better but not perfect. I called the service advisor and he said the read out on the balance sheet showed that the tires were balanced perfectly but they will look at it again.
My issue is that I am going to have a set of 22's installed on Monday and I want to make sure nothing is wrong with the car itself because once the aftermarket wheels go on the dealership basically washes their hands of the vibration issues. The tires on the stock wheels are brand new and maybe have 1000 miles on them.
