So recently I noticed that my navigation is flipped and is lagging.. I will post some vids and pics later. I have an ext warranty on the GS but figured to ask CL for any input.. Also sometimes my rear view camera will just turn when its in drive..
View 1 RepliesDuring low rpm cruise and light throttle acceleration below 2000rpm the transmission feels like its lagging or doesn't engage until after like a second or two after you press the gas pedal down. Been happening the past couple months and I would like to find a fix for it instead of buying a used trans or new trans.

I accidentally hit the voice command button and when I said "cancel" it turned on the POIs How do I turn the POI off. I have been through all the menus and manuals but can't find where to turn them off. It only talks about amending them and turning them on. They are annoying (IMO) since they are not accurate.
I noticed that lately my navi in my 07 GS, hasn't been able to locate the addresses i input. It would say that there's no such address based on the number of the address. If i search up the range of the number (ex. 400-430), then it'll be able to work. When i first purchased the car, it was able to search up the exact address. I was wondering if maybe i might have messed up something that it can't find the exact address anymore. Also, the places i searched up, they're not newly built so it should've been in the navi maps.

Basically, my navigation won't read the disk anymore and I'm looking at replacing it with a used one.
For the past few days, every time i turn the car ON (with the headlights ON), the nav screen, clock and surrounding buttons illuminate as they should, but after ~3 seconds, the illumination for the surrounding buttons and clock shut off.
Also, the touch-screen functioning and surrounding buttons do not work at any time. The nav screen remains illuminated, however the touch-screen buttons and surrounding buttons do not work. If i turn the car off and restart, same thing; all lights illuminate for about 3 seconds then stop.
During the day with no lights on, the clock will illuminate for ~3 seconds, then shut off just like above. None of the surrounding buttons (climate, map, infom audio, display, etc) work at all.
What would cause this unusual condition? I feel like if a fuse were blown, it wouldn't work, period. But, the lights illuminate for a few seconds before shutting off.
The emergency flasher button works and illuminates always, and the passenger airbag lights do, likewise. I pulled the nav unit from the car and checked all cables, and they all appear in place.
I can communicate with the car via the voice commands, but that's it.
what might be causing these strange symptoms?
I recently installed an updated 13.1 navigation disk for my car, all is working well. However on occasion at start up the navigation round icon bounces to a location down the road from my actual location, like I pushed the screen?? However my location on the screen is accurate.
I thought at first I may have pushed a button or something but quickly figured out it does it on its own. I can hit the map button and all is good.
So I tried the old disk and it still does it, in the few months I have had the car its never done this.
So maybe did the new disk screw something up??
I just don't want to push another button to start the navigation since I did not have to do it before.
I have an issue with my 06 GS430.
This all started this morning when I first started the car. The clock does not display, all of the buttons to the left, right, and bottom DO NOT work (this is NOT good because I cannot control the climate, turn on a/c, heater, NOTHING) navigation touchscreen works (but again navigation push buttons to the right of the screen do not work).
So, the only thing that works is the Radio and the Navigation touch screen! Also, all of the push buttons surrounding the navi screen do not illuminate at night when lights are on.
Things I have done:
-Checked fuses (IG)10A ECU-IG RH, (ACC) 7.5A ACC, (BAT) 7.5A TV, RAD 1,2,3
-Hard Reset - Disconnected Neg. Battery Cable for 20 min.
Is there anything else that I can check for or is my entire Navi Console Unit shot?
Just installed the Vaistech iVic unit yesterday and everything seemed to function fine, but noticed once I started driving today that my Navigation unit was off. It still operated and tracked movement OK, only the maps were about 10 minutes away from where I was actually located.
I've turned off the car several times since, and also took out the Navigation disc and re-installed but it keeps putting me in the same wrong place, This all happens in the normal standard Lexus modes.
I have a 2014 2.0T AWD Limited, now it's about 9000 kms so far with regular maintenance at dealer. Recently I have found the tranny is shifting a bit lagging, in particular shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I didn't think it was like this when it was new, not sure if it's something wrong, or now I'm getting more used to the shifting and start complaining.
View 3 RepliesI had the head gasket replaced along with all the other gaskets that come in the kit. new radiator, water pump, thermostat and thermostat gasket. blew head gasket at 78,000 miles. So now that has been taken care of, slowly everything else is going bad. recently, i pulled up in front of someones house and my suv turned off. When I tried to start it again it made a clanking sound and would not start. AAA'd it home and pulled the timing cover where the source of the sound was coming from. Seen the tensioner pulley loose and the belt loose. got it back on tdc and still does not start. the cranking over sound is lagging and sounds whiny. thought maybe was out of gas so i got gas and now when i try to start it it still is winding but it backfired and there was smoke behind the upper intake and still wont start. It wants to start, but doesn't.
View 11 RepliesI have an automatic 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLS with 138,000 miles on it. I bought her four years ago with 91,000 miles. Right after I got her, I noticed that she'll jump a little when when she's cold (i.e. ease on the gas for the first few miles until she drives more smoothly). Looking around the web, this seems to be fairly common and most forums say that it shouldn't be a cause for any alarm.
More recently though, she's started to lag when I accelerate right around the RPMs where she should be shifting. For example, increase to about 3000 RPM, then it feels like a second of free fall, then she'll catch up and be just fine.
I took her into a shop to get it looked at about 3 weeks ago - initial thought had been maybe an issue with the transmission fluid (did a flush back in 2014 / 110k miles). The mechanic refused to do the flush until I had the catalytic converter and downstream O2 sensor replaced. The previous owner had installed a modification to the sensor and the wires had got too close to the converter and melted.
We noticed the check engine light about a year ago and had it looked at, but the mechanic then said it wasn't a huge issue and was really only going to affect our gas mileage so we held off. Since this mechanic was fairly certain that this was causing our issue, we went ahead and had the repairs made. No luck. Haven't had a chance to take her back to the shop, but I figured I'd ask to see if we were at least on the right track.
Second issue. My wife and I share this car, and her commute is significantly further than mine. She says that four times over the past two months the car has shut itself off when it comes to a stop. Not a common occurrence given the amount of driving we do, but enough to be concerning.
I've had regular oil changes and kept up with the routine maintenance over the past four years (new spark plugs, air filters, etc.). Just got a fuel system flush with the catalytic converter repair three weeks ago. Haven't changed the battery since I bought her, but every time we get the oil changed they check it and say it's good.
I have a 20th anni GTI. I was driving down the road about a week ago going about 50 in 5th gear. all of a sudden when i go to give it gas my car starts lagging and the check engine light starts flashing on and off. I used a check engine light tester to figure out the possible problems and found that cylinder 2 misfired.
Spark plugs could have been the problem so i replace them. Nothing changed. so then i thought it could be one of the coils so i switch 1 and 2 aroud to see if there was a misfire on 1 now. still cylinder 2 misfired. I am starting to thnk it may be my catalytic converter. There's a funny spell coming from my exhaust. Like fire crackers or rotten eggs maybe.
Just wanted to note a squeaky driver side window on roll down and a lagging defrost on the windshield.
2012 Passat TDI SE 4k miles.
Other than that really like the car so far.
They say they are ordering a new window guide or something to fix it.
So I found a guy selling an OEM Part # 86100-06040 navigation for cheap. Is it as simple as plug and play for switching it out on my 2013 Non Navigation Carmy Hybrid? Does all the steering wheel controls are there?
View 13 RepliesHad my trans rebuilt in August because of a lagging reverse and loss of shift pressure. Had it rebuilt and beefed up a little and I've had problems getting the trans to be like it was new and seven years ago. I had enough of my head gasket oil leak and loosing my job recently so I bought a trans pressure kit and hooked it up today, all I can say is I now have another problem to get corrected. I'll list my pressures and I took videos so I'll upload them to YouTube and link it that way.
Park - 85psi
oem - 50-65psi
R - 25psi start then slowly rises to 60psi
oem - 70-100psi
N - 85psi
oem - 50-65psi
D - 82psi
oem - 50-65psi
2 - 20psi then slow to 80psi
oem - 50-65psi
1 - 50psi then slow to 100psi
oem - 70-100psi
My WOT pressure at 1-2 and then 2-3 shift is 170psi, I cannot find OEM spec online yet but I believe I was told it should be over 200psi....
How do you set up the voice tags in the Nav? I have a 08 350 if that matters. I can dial by number but not by name--says I have no voice tags listed.? I do the name in the phone book as well....
View 14 RepliesMy navigation out of no where has been restarting on its own meaning screen goes black and warning comes up again. I have had car since November and it only started happening last week and I have 6k on car. It will actually restart on its own twice and this has occurred 3 times so far.
Now not sure if I am dreaming this but if I shut the car off with NAV screen split with home screen I always remembered it staying that way even when I restarted car. Now however regardless of what I leave it when I restart car always shows full map. I am thinking did they push an update to NAV which is also causing the glitch in it restarting? I haven't brought it dealer since new so I know no one updated manually but I can swear home screen would stay split if I left it that way.
Having issue with NAV restart while driving, I see it was occurring in IS forum but no fix. Also it is very cold but car is garaged and every time I been driving already for a bit, another thing maybe it's my iPhone because it always plugged in when it has occurred.
My Nav voice stopped talking to me. I did ignore many turns because I knew better than she did but I didn't think she'd get that mad and give me the silent treatment!
Anyway, drove from Portland Maine to NJ this afternoon and hallway through the trip I have no more voice on the Nav, directions on screen worked fine. I deleted destination and then started it again and she still gave me the silent treatment. I haven't gone back and started it again since I've been home to see if she's over it and is talking to me again or not but I'll report back tomorrow on that.
