View 8 RepliesI have had the same android cell phone for over 3 years and have had my 13 GS350 for the same with no problems before..
In the last month whenever I get into my car the Bluetooth in my car does not recognize my phone. I have to turn off my Bluetooth from my phone and turn it back on. No problem then for the rest of the day. Everything works ok until the next morning.
Is the problem with my phone or with my car?
I have a customer who is experiencing some difficulty with his bluetooth. The car is a 2013 ES350 and the phone is a Droid phone with Verizon service.
Customer is claiming that the phone keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from bluetooth on its own, sometimes several times per commute and sometimes to the point where he has to reconnect himself.
Why the connection would be interrupted like this?
What in the world is going on, out of no where since this sunday its going in and out. It says phone disconnected then gets back on but after a few minutes.......... 6 months with this car and no problems with bluetooth. This is a big one for me because I listen my music and on cell a lot...
View 10 RepliesI just got a 2014 ES350 and love it, however, I have one issue I can't seem to figure out and I have to assume their is an easy fix. When I use my phone (bluetooth via car) and I'm using the navigation system, the voice still give me directions while I'm on the phone. 1) it's distracting for me to have a conversation the same time the navigation is talking 2) the person on the phone hears it as well. Is their a way to set up so that the voice automatically mutes while I'm on the phone?
View 14 RepliesI've had so many issues with audio dropping out from phone calls and streaming that I've almost thrown my phone at the NAV screen in frustration.
Background: In the 7 months since I bought my car new (2013 GS F-Sport) I have had 2 Droid Maxx's, 1 Droid Turbo and am currently on a Samsung Note 4. I've gone through hard resets of my phones, deleting the phone from the car, changing apps in use, trying to use the car with after a reset and removing most stock apps. I've also mostly disabled the text message and email options as it doesn't work consistently, and I don't need people in my car to see when I get texts.
Each of the phones has has issues staying connected to the car. About 30 seconds after dropping the car will register the loss of the bluetooth connection. The worst part is I can go hours without a problem, then I'll get 1, or I'll get a problem every 4 minutes until it suddenly stops.
I've called Lexus a three times are had a few different answers. At first they told me to always drive with the wifi disabled and that should fix my problem. Then they said to have the dealership check my firmware. The dealership said my firmware dated 2012 is the most up to date (sounds like a load of BS to me). Most recently, they said there is an error in Android 4.2's kernel that screws up bluetooth. Now all of my phones have been on Android 4.4.x since I bought the car, and Lexus said they aren't aware of any issues with 4.3 or 4.4.
My coworker follows the same phone upgrade path as me (Maxx, Turbo and Note4), and he has never had a dropout issue on his 2014 X5, so the kernel issue doesn't seem to hold water.
Lexus made it sound like this is a WIDE spread problem, but not one they need to fix. Also what firmware version are you running in your 2013 GS?
I all of a sudden starting having problem with my Bluetooth connection. I have an iPhone 6s (since September). It has latest operating system.
Now whenever I receive a text or notification on my phone it connects the Bluetooth. It shouldn't at all with app notifications. It then does release the connection.
Nav screen says call in progress. Hanging up phone from steering wheel does nothing. I must turn off Bluetooth on phone to release "the call" and listen to the radio.
I bought brand new 2013 Camry SE yesterday night..it has been just 15 hours since I bought it..today morning when I tried to pair my phone with car multimedia system...it showed the screen that it is connecting and the little circle on the top right was moving in circle as if it was trying to connect and all of a sudden it just got hang up...right there....its not going any where...now.
Is there a way to reboot this multimedia system (just like you can reboot computer or phone)..??
I tried turning car on-off...tried setup -default on bluetooth settings etc...but no luck.
I was wondering how do you add your phone contacts to the Bluetooth because I can't seem to figure out how to do it so when I want to call somebody I have to pick up my phone and find the contact. I just need a step by step process remember my 09 ES isn't equipped with Nav.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 RX 350. I just recently started using bluetooth. It was working well and then all of a sudden I have an issue after a call. I hang up my phone, but the screen still shows that it is talking; although, no call is being made. I have to stop and start car to get it to clear, so I can start again. However, it will only work once and then it still won't hang up.
View 12 RepliesI just picked up a 2006 GS300 AWD and wanted to setup my phone to stream Google Play Music through the bluetooth to the head unit... Is this possible? Or am I going to have to hack into the back wires like I did with my ES300 in order to setup an AUX line and connect a bluetooth adapter?
View 7 RepliesI'm wondering how I can disable the navigation voice while on a Bluetooth phone call? It's slightly annoying & confusing when the other end-caller can hear my navigation.
View 2 RepliesJust took delivery of my 2005 SC430 (Egyptian Sand, white leather, 55k miles. Lovely vehicle.) which I thought came with Bluetooth.
However, when looking to pair my iPhone 4S the 'Phone' icon is not present on the ML Nav Info display screen, suggesting that maybe Bluetooth is missing? I confirmed it's a 2005 from the VIN.
When I depress the little button below and behind the steering wheel volume buttons (left side - this is a US car) I get a voice saying 'No cassette inserted' or words to that effect, suggesting it's a cassette control button, not a Bluetooth one. The Nav instruction book which came with the car specifically refers to the presence of Bluetooth.
How to find if I have Bluetooth or not? My iPhone cannot 'discover' anything.
I just purchased a brand new 2014 ES 350. How to delete numbers from the Call History. I'd actually like to be able to delete a particular number from the list and/or clear the list completely.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2013 ES350 without navigation but have the Audio display. I paired mine and my wife's phone and both phones are Samsung Galaxy S4 so when I go to select phones both phones say the same number. How do I personalize these names so I can put mine and hers into the system instead of the same numbers
View 5 RepliesI noticed that when I use google map turn by turn directions, the audio comes through as a phone call. When I rent cars that have bluetooth settings, the directions just comes through over the speaker not as a phone call. I have an iPhone 6 and the latest IOS.
View 1 RepliesI let my wife drive the car for the past few weeks. This weekend I took it for a 2 hour drive, and I couldn't get my bluetooth to sync with my phone. There is no longer anything related to bluetooth on the display, so I can't even scroll through options to try to sync. The voice command button does not work either, when pushed it does nothing. My car has almost 50k miles so this will not be covered if I take it back to the dealership, so if possible I would like to fix this myself.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2014 TDI SE.
My Samsung phone is connected to car via Bluetooth. It seems to work fine. However my phone restarts when I start and turn the car off.
I have the SEL Premium: My wife drove the car several days ago and may have changed some settings and now the phone doesn't even pop up in the informational display. I've done my homework in the manual but can't seem to find the solution. the closest thing I can figure out from the manual is the phone package was turned off? i didn't even know that was possible. of course it says to put the key in the ignition to turn it on or off which as you know you can't do.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2013 GS 350 and I think the display is kind of wasted space most of the time. The default view is to show the map which is in terrible resolution and the navigation is too cumbersome to be useful. When I need navigation I use google maps which obeys voice commands, is always up to date and has traffic flow information.
Is there a way to hack the nav screen to be more useful? Perhaps display items from the phone? Maybe some other use while driving?
